Believe In The Magic

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card using one of my all time favorite things - a SNOW GLOBE!!  I just love snow globes.  They offer glimpses into another world and are just calming I think.  My snowglobe today uses the Bunny Snowglobe digital stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas.

After combining the image, and saying, in a watermark program, I colored it using my Castle Arts watercolor pencils for blending later.  Once the coloring was finished, I stippled/pounced some Tim Holtz tumbled glass and mowed lawn distress inks around the colored image using my paper pouncers, and blending brushes, before layering and adding some silver brads.  Taking my card base, I dry embossed it using a Cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder I've had for years using my Big Shot.  I then stippled more mowed lawn distress ink over the embossed images and around the edges.  Once that was finished, I adhered my layered image panel using pop up glue dots before highlighting parts of the "falling snow" using a silver 3D glaze pen and then adding crystal ice stickles to highlight the rest of the "snow".  This card was fairly easy to do even with a migraine.

Run Up To Christmas 2023 Week 8

Hello and welcome to week 8 of the #runuptochristmashop2023 and this week we're being inspired to Make A Scene.  Now I love scenic stamping so this challenge is "right up my alley" so to speak and I knew the stamp set I wanted to use.  I just received this Snow Village set by Impression Obsession from a friend that's been on my wish list for some time now.  I decided to use my church in Anchorage, Alaska as inspiration for my scene.

I started out by stamping the village in memento tuxedo black ink on a slimline scrap panel before coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once my coloring was finished, I pulled out my Slimline Cloud stencil from Picket Fence Studios and created my cloud background using Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink and blending brushes.  At this point, I decided I needed some more trees and a couple of snowmen, so I stamped those on scrap white card stock, colored using gel pens, then cut out to adhered to my card.  After stamping my saying from Colorado Craft Company's Bethlehem's Light, I then adhered the image panel to a spruce green card before adding the clay snowflakes from  plum pudding sequin mix and diamond ice stickles because snow just had to sparkle.

Run Up To Christmas 2023 Week 4 Elf Inspired

Hello friends and welcome to the #runuptochristmashop2023 hosted by @love_smile_and_craft and @kellys.craft. We are going to make a card each week for 12 weeks until Christmas. This week's theme is "elf /elves.  I was inspired by the elves in Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer TV specials, so I pulled out my Picket Fence Studios Baby It's Cold Outside stamp set and got to work.  After stamping my elves in memento tuxedo black on Neenah white card stock, I colored them using both prismacolor and copic markers.  I then took my PFS slimline cloud coverage stencil and blended Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink to create my clouds before layering and adding brads.  Taking my Stampin Up holly jumbo wheel, I stamped the card base in Tim Holtz pine needles distress ink before adding my layered image panel using glue dots.  I then added some crystal ice stickles as "snowflakes".  However, my card didn't feel finished so I stamped the trees from a new Stampin Up Peaceful Deer set I received as a RAK from a friend using spruce dye ink before coloring the trees in Prismacolor spruce marker and adding a tad tumbled glass to the snow.  Now it was finished some 5 days later. *shrug*  My migraines have been giving me fits again along with other stresses.

Run Up To Christmas 2023 Week 3

Hello Friends and welcome to the #runuptochristmashop2023 hosted by @love_smile_and_craft and @kellys.craft. We are going to make a card each week for 12 weeks until Christmas. This week's theme is "Christmas Wreath" and a good thing too.  That meant I would finally finish coloring this wreath card I started 5yrs ago (thanks to a variety of health/migraine issues) from Verve Stamps I received as a RAK from a friend.

The wreath is stamped in Tim Holtz pine needles distress ink and colored using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I blended stormy sky and tumbled glass distress inks around it before layering and adding brads.  Taking my Tonic distresser tool I ran it along the edges of the image panel before setting aside.  My card base is stamped using a retired Stampin Up holly jumbo wheel and garden green ink.  I then added the image panel using pop up glue dots before adding a few dots of crystal ice stickles to highlight parts of the image and a clear 3D glaze pen to highlight the berries.

Challenge 2338

  Sponsored by Newton's Nook
Newton

Hello and welcome.  Today starts a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by Newton's Nook.  I would like to thank them for their sponsorship of this week's challenge.  For my card this week, I used my own cats as inspiration and pulled out my Newton Caroling set that I bought end of last year and hadn't used yet (NBUS).  These cute little cats make me think of my own cats, and fosters, "singing the song of their peoples" whenever they feel like it.

After stamping the images in memento tuxedo black on Copic X-press It white, I colored everything using both prismacolor and copic markers before layering and stippling some Stampin Up soft sky  ink using my blending brushes from Picket Fence Studios.  I then fussy cut the mice out and added those using micro pop dots.  After adding some music note brads, I adhered the image panel using pop up glue dots on a green card dry embossed using a Cuttlebug allegro embossing folder.  The final touch was adding some poinsettia dew drops from my stash and some crystal/waterfall ice stickles to highlight the snowfall.

Furry And Bright

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a Christmas card I made using an adorable, but retired set, from My Favorite Things.  I'm trying to get caught up on my stash of Christmas cards since I'm usually finished by the end of September but not this year.  Migraines, and illnesses, have put me way behind.

I started out by stamping my images using my MISTI (I received as a gift) in memento tuxedo black ink before coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once my coloring was finished, I die cut the kitten out before adhering it to the image panel using glue dots.  Once the panel was layered and silver brads added, I adhered it to the razzleberry card base using medium sized glue dots.  The only embellishments added were some silver/white thread along the edge, a blinged-out flourish and some crystal ice stickles as "snow".

Woodblock Wednesday August 2023 edition

Hello and welcome.  Today begins the new Woodblock Wednesday challenge.  This monthly challenge inspires us to pull out those woodblock stamps (we all have them) that we're not using, and show them some love.  Since I'm behind making my Christmas cards for this year, I pulled out a couple of House Mouse stamps to use.

I started out by stamping my images in memento tuxedo black ink on some Copic X-press It card stock before coloring using both Prismacolor and Copic markers before stippling some Stampin Up soft sky ink around the edges and to fill in the white spaces.  I then layered the image panel and added some metallic red brads before setting aside.  Taking a retired Stampin Up holly jumbo wheel, I stamped the card base with Tim Holtz fired brick distress ink before adding the layered image panel using glue dots.  The final touch was adding some crystal and waterfall ice stickles. Here's the woodblock stamps I used:

Mele Kalikimaka (Merry Christmas)

Hello and welcome.  My late grandfather used to live in Honolulu and seeing the news about the Maui wildfires got me thinking of him again and all of the laughs, and fun, we used to have together.  Grandpa was a true gentleman....with a wicked sense of humor.  LOL  So, I pulled out a couple of beach/palm stamps I received from a friend when she had to downsize and hadn't used yet.  Grandpa, this card is in your memory.  I think I'll send this to my brother for Christmas.

I started out by stamping the palm trees from Stamp Yourself Silly (now closed) and the beach Santa from PSX in memento tuxedo black ink onto a Hammermill white panel before coloring them using my Lyra and Castle Arts pencils.  Once the coloring was finished, I pulled out my retired Close To My Heart Tropical Christmas stamp set and stamped the Mele Kalikimaka in memento black between the palm trees before stenciling the background clouds using my slimline cloud stencil from Picket Fence Studios and Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink.  After layering the image panel, I added some copper brads, waterfall ice stickles, and hand drawn "birds" using a black gel pen.  Santa's sunglasses are also highlighted with the neon blue gel pen.

The prize will be a $10 Gift Certificate from

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  This week we our prize is a $10 gift certificate to My Favorite Things.  My card today is using a retired MFT stamp set I had bought last year and hadn't ink yet.  It's designed by Rachel Ann Miller called Away In A Manger.

I started out by stamping my manger scene in memento tuxedo black ink on some scrap Hammermill card stock before coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers, along with Lyra flesh tone pencils, before fussy cutting the scene and star out before setting aside.  I then pulled a 12x12 sheet of Recollections designer paper to use as the background of my scene before adhering it to a navy card base.  Once I added my manger I was able to stamp the saying onto scrap white card stock then layered.  The final touch was color spritzing some Stampin Up night of navy marker.

Naughty And Nice

Hello and welcome.  Today I'm participating in the 2022 Build Your Stash Holidays Cardmakers Falling for the Holidays linky party.  I've finished my holiday cards for this year and wanted to get a head start on the ones for next year; plus for RAK requests.

I started out by stamping my images from The Cat's Pajamas The New Nice (I have the special red rubber set) that I've had for a few years in memento tuxedo black ink on to white card stock.  Thankfully The Cat's Pajamas has the set now in digital form.  Once all of my stamping was finished, I colored everything using Castle Arts pencils and a black Prismacolor marker before highlighting parts of my images using a black gel pen and Sakura 3D glaze pens.  After my colored image was layered, I added some green button brads I've had since last Christmas and didn't finish using.  My card is dry embossed using a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder before stippling glorious green ink over the raised images.  After adding my main image panel, I lightly rubbed some poppy red ink around my colored image before adding a green organdy ribbon from my stash.  The remaining embellishments are green sequins I found in my stash and crystal ice stickles highlighting the package ribbons  and centers of my dry embossed images.  I'm really happy with how this turned out and would like to also enter it into the following challenges.

A Vintage Halloween

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a simple card I made using The Cat's Pajamas Vintage Halloween Digi Set (I have the clear set from their clearance sale so they could go digital) with We Are Three's Brick Wall digital paper.

After printing the digital paper onto Hammermill white card stock, I stamped my images directly onto the brick wall panel before sponging some more mustard ink around the edges and into the center of the main image.  I then layered the panel and added some faux brads before adhering directly onto a mustard card base.  The final touch was adding some gold sequins from the stash I've had for years and rarely used.

Update on me, I'm still processing Stacy's death and all of my health issues especially the depression migraines, and anxiety right now.  Doctor has changed my anxiety meds to see if that helps, first night on the meds was last night, so hopefully that helps.  I'm still trying to color, and make cards, to try and focus on something else instead of grief and health issues.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day. Please hold/hug your loved ones and tell them how much they mean to you.  Life is to precious to not do so.
