Heart's Quest Fantasy Challenge Blog #53

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Heart's Quest Fantasy Challenge where our theme is always Anything Goes Fantasy (think mermaids, unicorns, fairies, etc).  For my card this month, I'm using images from Conjurer of Dreams.

I started out by combining the following COD sets in Photoshop©: Pegasus MaidenQuirky FairiesMystical ForestButterfly Clipart then printing the finished image onto Hammermill white card stock, layered and added some faux brads before setting aside.  My card was made using COD's Blue Lace Background adhered to navy card stock before adhering the image panel using black pop dots.  The final touches were blue sequins, stardust stickles highlighting parts of the image and also running my fingernail along the edges to "distress it" a bit.  I'm really happy with how this turned out.

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're sponsored by Rachelle Anne Miller Digital designs.  I would like to thank Rachelle for her sponsorship this week.

I started out by printing the image onto Hammermill card stock then coloring using my Ohuhu markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I lightly stippled some Tim Holtz stormy sky to lighten up the sky before layering.  I then added the layered image panel to a card with Snowflake designer paper.  I then dusted off my old Stampin Up Wishes Awash and stamped my saying directly onto the background paper. For the final touches, I added some clay snowflakes.

Loon At The Lake

Hello and welcome.   Today I'd like to share a card made using an image I've had colored for some time, just hadn't finished it to a card.  The Loon Scene is from Whimsy Stamps and is just beautiful.  I see so many uses for this stamp.

The main image is stamped onto Neenah white card stock and colored using Castle Arts colored pencils and a blender pencil.  I then lightly stippled some tumbled glass distress ink before adding some silver photo corners I've had for years, and I mean years.  The card was made by stippling broken china distress ink over a slim line lily pad stencil from Picket Fence Studios.  Once I had the layered image added to my card, I added some bling, ribbon, diamond ice stickles and a small punched frog to place on one of the lily pads.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Stained Glass Mermaids

Hello and welcome.  I'm guest designing this month over at Heart's Quest Fantasy Challenge blog.  I would like to take a moment to thank Becca for the invitation to guest design.  For my card, I went with the optional focus of mermaids using images from Conjurer of Dreams

After combining the Stained Glass Sunken Ship with the Quirky Mermaids and a Sea Siren freebie from last year that was posted in the COD Inspiration group.  Once I had everything combined, I printed the finished image twice so one could be a mat layer.  After layering my card elements, I added some old photo corners I found in my stash (remember when we used to use those), some copper cord, copper bling and ice stickles to highlight the waves.  I'm happy with how this turned out especially since I've been dealing with another migraine.

A Different Perspective

Hello and welcome.  Today I have a couple more cards made over the last couple of weeks that I finally got finished and pictured thanks to the migraines I've been dealing with.  Both cards use the Conjurer of Dreams Serene Forest Greyscale Coloring Book.  I printed both images at 3.5 x 5 because of the migraine.  Now, I absolutely LOVE Kim's greyscale coloring books.   The images can be used for a variety of projects; from cards, home decor, art journals, etc.  You get the hint.

After printing out both images on to Neenah white card stock, I colored them both using Castle Arts watercolor pencils while my husband was watching the news so I could focus on something and tune the TV out.   Once my coloring was finished, I lightly stippled a little bit of stormy sky and tumbled glass distress inks to finish filling in the sky before layering and adding brads.  I then took my paper distresser and ran it along the edge of the bottom layer before adhering the finished panel to a dry embossed card.  After adding some silver cord along the edge, I added diamond stickles to highlight the water before adding two vintage word plaques I've had in my stash for 10-15 years and never opened the package.  As an afterthought, I pulled out my Sakura 3D glaze pens and added some colored dots as flowers.

Challenges entered:

Can You Handle The Pressure March 2025 - Anything Goes Using Embossing Folder (used forest branches embossing folder on card base)

For the second card, I again colored it using  Castle Arts watercolor pencils before blending some leftover stormy sky to fill in the white space before adding some faux brads.  For embellishments this time, I only added some jute twine along the edge, diamond stickles to the water and the 3D glaze pens for flowers.  I'm really happy with how both cards turned out.

A Moment In Time

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a card made for the Ghost of a Time challenge over in the Conjurer of Dreams Facebook Inspiration group.   My card today is using the Edwardian Bride Groom Ghost Dancers, Victorian Dancing Ghost Couple and the Edwardian Graveyard digital stamps.

After I combined the graveyard, and all of the ghost couples I wanted, I printed the finished image out on Neenah white card stock before layering and adding some black brads.  As an afterthought, I distressed the last layer using my paper distresser.  I then dug through my stash and found a couple of old Making Memories© word plate eyelets and added those using my crop-a-dile before adhering to my card base using pop dots.  Taking a sponge, I lightly sponged bermuda bay ink along the edges of the card before adding some black lace I've had in my stash for years.  The final touches were adding some Meraki Sparkle Midnight Shimmer Illusion gems and diamond ice stickles to highlight the moonlight.  I'm really happy with how this turned out.

Perfect Crazy Horses

Hello and welcome.  Second post today.  If you're looking for my Pammie's Inky Pinkies DT card, please scroll down one.

I've been somewhat quiet lately.  I'm still dealing with this blasted migraine that will not go away but I've tried crafting a bit to focus on something else but the pain.  That's the main reason I've been using so many pre-colored images lately.  I felt I needed something fun so I pulled out this Crazy Horses image from Sheepski Designs that I've had printed for some time but hadn't used yet.  I started out by coloring the horses using my Castle Arts watercolor pencils until I was happy with the coverage.  Taking one of my blending brushes, I added some Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink around the horses before layering and adding brads.  For the card base, I printed off the distressed graph page from Gecko Galz Time After Time digital designer paper then added it to white card stock before stippling Tim Holtz faded jeans and tea dye distress inks over the designer paper.  I then adhered my colored image panel to the card before stamping my saying from an old Hero Arts Good Friends stamp set directly on the card.  After adding some googlie eyes, my card was finished,

Black Cat ATC's

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share some ATC's (artist trading cards) I made using the free collage sheet provided called Black Cat Moon for the monthly ATC challenge over at  Gecko Galz.  I decided to make three of them from the collage and try stretching my creativity a bit.  Now, let me divert momentarily to say I LOVE black cats.  Lost both of mine during the pandemic to old age (one at 17, the other at 19), and they were sisters/litter mates until the end.

I started out by printing the collage sheet on Neenah white card stock before cutting out all of the elements.  Taking the blue moon cat first, I layered it using a black scrap before layering more using the blue/gold background from the collage before one more layering on to a navy card stock scrap.  As an after thought, I went and distressed the edges of my layering before taking a navy marker to run along the sides of the ATC layers.  I embellished my ATC using a small bow sticker, brads, some Crafty Meraki Midnight Shimmer Illusion, color spritzed the navy marker over everything and diamond ice stickles to highlight the moon and white flowers.

Next I took the black cat with the floral crescent moon.  Pulling out my Castle Arts watercolor pencils, I colored the flowers/leaves with them before stippling memento tuxedo black ink around the image using a paper pouncer then layered it using scraps before adding some tiny black brads.  I then layered that panel on to the blush/navy/black background from the collage before layering again on scrap black card stock.  I then dug through my sentiments stash and pulled out a small "Hello" clear stamp and added that to the bottom right corner before color spritzing the navy marker over everything.  For the remaining embellishments, I added diamond ice stickles, Crafty Meraki bling and a small piece of black fibers to the bottom left corner.

For the last one, I took the grey/gold background, layered that and added some tiny white brads.  I then fussy cut the black cat and moon out before gluing them to the ATC.  I then dug out a long retired Small Script wooden set from Stampin Up, and stamped the "wish" between my cat and moon.  Once that was finished, I dug out of my stash some silver Stampendous class-a-peel star stickers, added those to the ATC before adding the diamond ice stickles to highlight the light parts of the moon.  The final embellishments were two googlie eyes on the peeking cat for an added touch of whimsy and silver star stickers I've had for years.  I am extremely happy with how these all turned out.  Fortunately, the migraine meds were taking the edge off enough to assemble/create everything.

Floral Blessing Cup

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made for a friend battling cancer and wanted her to know just how much she means to me.  My card uses the In This Together digital stamp set from Sweet N Sassy stamps.

I started out by combining the floral cup image, and saying, in photoshop before printing it onto Neenah white card stock then colored it using some of the few Copic markers I have.  Once the coloring was finished, I cut it down to size and layered it before adding some pink brads.  For my card, I dry embossed a Cuttlebug Stylized Flowers on the front of the card before lightly sanding the embossed images.  I then lightly blended some Tim Holtz tattered rose distress ink around my main image to help soften the white a bit.  After adhering the layered image to my card using glue dots, I dug through my stash and found a wooden bee/ladybug stickers to add to the card.  The final touch was color spritzing some regal rose marker over the card.

Run Up To Christmas 2023 Week 8

Hello and welcome to week 8 of the #runuptochristmashop2023 and this week we're being inspired to Make A Scene.  Now I love scenic stamping so this challenge is "right up my alley" so to speak and I knew the stamp set I wanted to use.  I just received this Snow Village set by Impression Obsession from a friend that's been on my wish list for some time now.  I decided to use my church in Anchorage, Alaska as inspiration for my scene.

I started out by stamping the village in memento tuxedo black ink on a slimline scrap panel before coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once my coloring was finished, I pulled out my Slimline Cloud stencil from Picket Fence Studios and created my cloud background using Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink and blending brushes.  At this point, I decided I needed some more trees and a couple of snowmen, so I stamped those on scrap white card stock, colored using gel pens, then cut out to adhered to my card.  After stamping my saying from Colorado Craft Company's Bethlehem's Light, I then adhered the image panel to a spruce green card before adding the clay snowflakes from  plum pudding sequin mix and diamond ice stickles because snow just had to sparkle.

Run Up To Christmas 2023 Wk 5

Hello and welcome to week 5 of the #runuptochristmashop2023 hosted by @love_smile_and_craft and @kellys.craft. We are going to make a card each week for 12 weeks until Christmas.  This week's theme is candy cane or gingerbread.

For my card, I pulled out an old rubber stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas  called Baked With Love (retired) and stamped it onto a scrap of vanilla cardstock in memento tuxedo black ink then colored it using prismacolor and copic markers.  Once my coloring was finished, I layered it and added brads before setting aside.  My card base is stamped in Adirondack espresso ink using the gingerbread border from the retired Holiday Borders set from Impression Obsession.  I then added some Martha Stewart gingerbread ribbon I've had for years and hadn't used up yet.  After adhering my layered image, I added "icing" and "candies" using 3D glaze/souffle pens before gluing googlie eyes to finish it off.

Run Up To Christmas Hop 2023 Week 1

Hello friends and welcome to the #runuptochristmashop2023 hosted by @love_smile_and_craft and @kellys.craft. We are going to make a card each week for 12 weeks until Christmas. This week's theme is "Pink Christmas" and I'm using a retired set from Concord and 9th called Triangle Trees since I was stamping it while dealing with another migraine.  Plus the trees remind me of the tree lot in A Charlie Brown Christmas.

I started out by stamping my trees in Versamagic pink petunia chalk ink on Neenah white card stock before stamping the saying in memento tuxedo black then layering and adding pink brads.  My card is then stamped using a retired Stampin Up holly jumbo wheel using regal rose ink before sponging the same ink around the edges.  After adhering my layered image panel, I stippled Tim Holtz tattered rose and aged mahogany distress inks around my trees.  The final embellishment was adding some tiny Gin and Tonic star sequins from Picket Fence Studios. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.
