We The People

Hello and welcome.  I have another card to share that I made for my friend's #inlovingmemory card drive for veterans.  Since I'm still dealing with this migraine, I decided to use the same colors that I used on my last post only this time, I decided to use a couple of old (and I mean OLD) Rubber Monger stamps sets.  I bought both of these at a stamp convention at least a decade ago and have used sparingly.  I'm thinking the store has closed down since I can't find it online anywhere.

I started out by stamping the Declaration of Independence background on corn husk card stock in Tim Holtz chipped sapphire distress ink before over-stamping the fife and drum corps using the same chipped sapphire ink.  I then stippled chipped sapphire, fired brick, walnut stain and old paper distress inks using my blending brushes from Picket Fence Studios before layering and adding star brads from my stash.  I then popped the layered panel up using pop up glue dots before adding some brown fibers from my stash (USEIT2023).  The final touch was some retired Not Too Shabby copper sequins.  I then stamped the saying inside from Stampin Up's Service and Sacrafice (retired) in the chipped sapphire ink.

Masculine Hop

Hello and welcome.  Second post from me today.  I am participating in an Instagram Masculine Hop hosted by @kellys.craft.  My card today is featuring a couple of long retired Stampin Up sets: the Old World Map Background and Ships Ahoy.

I started out by stamping the Old World Map background in chipped sapphire distress ink on white card stock before stippling old paper and walnut stain distress inks over my background using my blending brushes from Picket Fence Studios to "age" it a bit before adhering it to a navy card base.  I then took the tall ship image from Ships Ahoy also in chipped sapphire before stippling old paper and walnut stain over it as well before adhering that to a navy card stock scrap.  Since I didn't have matching brads, I made my own "faux brads" by using a small hand held punch before gluing them to the card.  For the inside of the card I used another retired Stampin Up set called Service and Sacrifice.  Here's what the inside looks like:

I'm really happy with how turned out since 1) I stamped it with another migraine and 2) I'm mass producing for a military card drive a friend is hosting.

Vintage Happiness

Hello and welcome.  I'm guest designing today over on the Arty Divas Blog and I'd like to share with the card I made for my husband for Father's Day using one of Unity's limited edition digital stamps (get them before they're gone). I've had this stamp for a couple of months now and just have never used it yet (NBUS).

After printing off my image from the Good Ol Days set onto Neenah white card stock, I then colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before sponging Tim Holtz old paper distress ink over it.  I then sponged some tea stain ink around the edges, layered, then distressed one of the layers before adding some vintage brads including a long forgotten Tim Holtz gear socket charm.  I then sponged some forest moss distress ink onto my card before adding the layered image using dimensionals. My final touches was adding some twine to the top edge and highlighting parts of the image using Sakura 3D glaze pens.  As an afterthought, I took a stipple brush that still had some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink on it and then stippled over the old paper to add a little more detail.

Additional photos to closer show some of the detail .

I'd also like to enter this into the following challenges:

A Vintage Collage And More Never Before Used Stuff (NBUS)

Hello and welcome!  Today I am guest designing over on the Arty Divas Challenge blog!!  The project I'd like to share with you uses quite a few "virginal" items.  In other words, stuff that's never been used before.

I started out by stamping my never before used (NBUS) image on vanilla card stock in Tim Holtz chipped sapphire ink then coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once that was done, I stippled some tea dye and more chipped sapphire ink over and around the image before layering.  I then added some vintage brads before, as an after thought, distressed the bottom layer using my fingernail and a little PTI chai ink.  I then took the layered scraps and dry embossed them using a cuttlebug leafy branch embossing folder with my big shot.  Once that was finished, I stippled more tea dye ink over the embossed images before doing the same to the embossed K and Company designer paper (NBUS) on my card.  Before adding the embossed border to the card, I pulled out some decorative leaves I'd never used and added those underneath the embossed border using some scor-tape.  My layered image panel was then added to the card using pop up glue dots.  The final embellishment is a small navy blue bow.  I'm extremely happy with how this turned out since I was creating with another migraine.

Kneeling Santa

Hello and welcome.  Sharing today a last minute Christmas card I've made for a few challenges using the retired Reason For The Season, although you can still get just the Santa image here from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I've had this set for years and have never used it until now.  Can you say BIG mistake??

After stamping my image in memento black and coloring using copic markers, I stippled some Tim Holtz scattered straw and old paper distress inks to "age" it a bit before layering and adding brushed gold mini brads.  I decided to do the same for the card front saying.  I then repeatedly stamped another saying from the set in memento rhubarb stalk ink to create my background before stippling Stampin Up real red ink around the edges.  The only additional embellishments used is a small red bow, gold cord, and some Making Memories paper poinsettias from my stash.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Pammies Inky Pinkies #1850 - Anything Goes
Not Just Cards December 2018 - Anything Goes
Winter Wonderland End Of Year - Anything Goes
