Hello.  Today I'm sharing with you a card I made for the one of the Musical Challenges at Splitcoaststampers.  I love this retired Stampin Up! set called Godspeed since it makes perfect cards for our military. 

For this challenge, I dusted off my Stampin Up! Godspeed set and stamped it in memento tuxedo black ink onto white card stock before coloring with prismacolor markers and stippling caramel ink around the edges.  While doing the background, I pulled out Stampin Up! soft suede card stock and ink (a color I don't use often) and stamped the helmet in those colors.  Pulling out some vintage brads and  placing the image at an angle seemed to finish things off nicely.

This Little Light Of Mine - Musical Challenge #21

Hello again.  Happy Sunday everyone.  I'm finally getting a chance to upload a card I made for the musical challenge at Splitcoast a couple of weeks ago.  It uses a set I really like from Stampin Up!, mostly because it's a lighthouse.

I started out by stamping the lighthouse from Light Unto My Path in PTI Enchanted Evening ink before cutting down to size the image and distressing it before adding PTI Tea Duo ink to the sides.  With each layer, I used a matching Stampin Up! marker to edge the paper after distressing the layers.  For the background, I used a retired Stampin Up! wheel, Simply Shells, that I had forgotten was in my wheel stash.  I finished the card off with some retired Stampin Up! vintage brads, a couple of Joann's silk flowers stickers and then sponging Stampin Up! artichoke ink around the edges.

Country Girl

This is my take on last week's Musical Challenge to Barbara Mandrell's song "I was country when country wasn't cool".  I love that song especially since I grew up listening to it.  Once the challenge was announced, I had no problem picking out the stamp set I wanted to use.

After inking up my country girl & stamping her twice onto white card stock, I pulled out my prismacolor markers and got to coloring.  Once that was done, I cut out one of the images for popping up later on pop dots.  The remaining image I highlighted with a light gray marker then stippled Stampin Up! creamy caramel ink around the edges before layering. 

Pulling out some designer paper I picked up at Michael's a few years back, I added that to the main card and started layering everything.  I had a few Stampin Up! designer brads I received in a secret sister gift a while back and added those as well.  Since there were only three matching brads, I stamped the sentiment and popped it up where the fourth brad would have gone and added a couple of small primas.  I really like the way it turned out.

Musical Challenge 17 - LeAnn Rimes

This week's musical challenge was to a song by LeAnn Rimes called "A Good Friend and A Glass of Wine".  Well since I don't drink, normally that should be hard for me to come up with something.  However, I had a bella image from an image swap a couple of years back and she worked just fine paired with some old Provo Craft designer paper, wine glass charm (Michael's $1 spot) and paper flowers.

I colored the bella image with Rose Art colored pencils and then over stamped a crackled background from Rubber Stampede in Tim Holtz tea stain ink to "dirty" it up a bit and match the designer paper.  After die cutting two scallop border strips, adding the paper flowers and wine charm, my card was done.  Easy peasy!!

Come Home Soon - Musical Challenge 6

Hello again.  Happy New Year!!!  Thanks for stopping by today. 

I have another musical challenge card from a couple of weeks ago to share with you today.  The challenge song was Come Home Soon by SheDaisy.  I had this birdhouse image by The Stamping Boutique and thought it fit the song pretty good. 

After downloading and printing on white card stock, I colored the entire image with prismacolor markers before stippling Stampin Up! bashful blue ink and lavender lace ink around the edges.  The main card is embossing using a Tim Holtz Alterations wood grain embossing folder and a corner rounder punch.  For a little extra something, I added some silk flowers I had purchased at Michaels last year held in place with yellow mini brads.

Paper Angels - Musical Challenge 8

I've started participating in a weekly musical challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.  This week's challenge is to the song Paper Angels by Jimmy Wayne and the challenge can be found here.

I decided to use a cool new digital image from Digital Two For Tuesday, a part of the Clearly Vintage blog site.  I totally fell in love with this image from the October 25th post.  Isn't she just sweet?  I colored her with regular colored pencils using various shades of the same color family and then lightly stippled Tim Holtz old paper distress ink over the top when I was done.

Trying to keep a "vintage" look, I also used a Tim Holtz Alterations embossing folder for the main card and then some brushed copper brads as a finishing touch.
