Christmas Lighthouse Shadow

 

Hello and welcome. Today I'd like to share with you a shadow box I made for this quarters Conjurer of Dreams Summer challenge.  The challenge theme is - seaside shadow boxes.  For mine, I decided to go with a Christmas seaside theme using a wooden box I found at Dollar Tree© a few months ago.

 

I started out by painting the box using a light blue acrylic paint before printing the Stained Glass Lighthouse three times as a 5x7 image.  Once the printing was finished, I laid the box down on one of the printed images and traced around it before cutting out.  I then adhered the trimmed pieces using Mod Podge before adding some Snow Tex along the inside.  After that I added the lightpost, sled, snowman and trees by setting them in the Snow Tex©.  I then added a battery operated votive, light down, on top using hot glue to hold it in place.  The final touches were adding more Snow Tex© on top of the moss and along the sides of my shadow box.

Woodblock Wednesday May 2026 Edition

 

 Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new Woodblock Wednesday where we dust off those old wooden block stamps and show them some love.  My card today features one of my favorite House Mouse stamps with the matching wood block saying.  I haven't used my House Mouse stamps in a long time.  I've collected some, just haven't used them.....yet. In fact, it's so old the stamp block still says ©Stampa Rosa on it.  Spellbinders now holds the copyright for the House Mouse line.

 

My card is stamped using memento tuxedo black ink and colored using my old prismacolor markers before layering and adding brads.  The card is embossed using an old Cuttlebug© snowflake embossing folder with my Big Shot©.  The only embellishments I added was a clear 3D glaze pen for the bows before adding stardust stickles to highlight.

Once my coloring was finished, I layered it before adhering to a green card base.  For embellishments, I added some holly bling, red/green gems and a small bow from my stash.  As a final touch, I highlighted the berries/lighthouse/orange/seashell using a clear 3D glaze pen.  The final touch was stamping the Merry Christmas greeting underneath.  I'm very happy with how this turned out.

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a Christmas card I made for my 2026 stash using images from Gerda Steiner Designs.   

 

I started out by stamping images from the Christmas Kitten stamp set onto Hammermill white card stock using memento tuxedo black ink before coloring using Ohuhu markers and a white chalk marker. Once the coloring was finished, I layered it and added some red brads before adhering it to a dry embossed card.  The final touches were some added bling, gold cord and using a clear 3D glaze pen to highlight parts of the images.  As an afterthought, I lightly stippled some tattered rose distress ink around the playful kittens.  I'm pretty happy with how this turned out especially since I've been battling the flu the last couple of weeks.

 Hello and welcome to the February Recycled Artistry IG Hop hosted by @newdawncards and @createwithkas We’re taking recycling to the craft room and giving new life to discarded items in a creative way. From paper towel rolls, junk mail envelopes, cereal boxes, bubble wrap and so much more, we encourage you to look around and see if you can ‘use it before you lose it’ to the trash! To join, message Dawn or Kelly and tag us using #recycledartistryighop.  My card today is re-using some corrugated packaging from inside a Chewy box as well as a digital stamp from Impression Obsession (now closed).   Although I've had this image printed for some time, I just hadn't colored it up to put on a card.

 

After coloring my church scene using both Lyra and Castle Arts pencils, I blended everything using a Prismacolor blender pencil before stippling chipped sapphire distress ink to fill in the sky.  Once the coloring was finished, I layered it and added some faux brads before adhering it to my card using glue dots.  The final touches were copper cord along the left edge and icicle/star dust stickles to add some sparkle.  I'm semi happy with how this turned out since I'm dealing with another migraine.

I started out by stamping all of my images, and sayings, onto Copic X-Press It card stock using memento tuxedo black ink before coloring all of them using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I fussy cut several of the images out and assembled my scene using micro glue dots.  I then blended Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink around them to "darken" the sky a bit before layering, adding brads and then distressing the bottom edge using my paper distresser.  I then added it to a dry embossed green card using pop up glue dots.  The final touches were pine needles distress ink blended around the card edges, white/silver bakers twine along the top and crystal ice stickles as "falling snow" to finish it off.

I started out by printing the image onto Neenah white card stock before pulling out my Castle Arts watercolor pencils, colored the image before blending with an alcohol marker.  After edging the image in memento tuxedo black ink, I layered it before adding white brads and distressing the edges then setting aside.  My card is dry embossed using a Sizzix© snowflake embossing folder with Stampin Up bliss blue ink rubbed lightly over the embossed images and sides.  Taking some snowflake felt fusion I've had for years, I added a border of individual snowflakes before adding my layered image using pop up glue dots.  The final embellishments were white/silver bakers twine, snowflake sequins, silver star stickers and ice stickles glitter glue.  As an afterthought, I added just a touch of white gel pen to the little girl's eyes.

A Little Stained Glass Winter

 

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a couple of cards made using Conjurer of Dreams Winter Stained Glass Windows images along with several others.  First, let me just say, I absolutely LOVE Kim's stained glass images!!  For both of these cards, I merged the stained glass with the following: Polar Bears AI Art Digitals, Frosty Quirky Elves, Christmas Gnomes and Christmas Ducks.

I started out by printing a non-merged Winter Stained Glass images twice to use as designer paper before printing the merged church/gnomes/ducks image at 3.5 x 5.  After layering, and adding brads, I adhered it to my card using glue dots before adding crystal stickles to highlight the snow/church windows/frozen creek.

Next is a card using a different stained glass church image.  This time I combined it with the Polar Bears AI Art and Frosty before printing it also at 3.5 x 5 then layered and added silver brads before adhering it to the card using glue dots.  After adding some silver cord, I again highlighted the snow/windows/frozen creek using crystal stickles.  I am really happy with how both of these turned out.
