Autumn Bookmark

Hello and welcome.  Today's Anything But A Card project is another bookmark.  This time I'm using Bugaboo Stamps image Autumn Sign.  Since my family reads a lot (non electronic books), I make bookmarks every year for Christmas stockings.

After printing my image off onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers then layered onto scrap card stock.  Since I was going to be placing the bookmark into a plastic sleeve I had bought years ago, I made my own brads out of scrap black card stock using a small hole punch and Martha Stewart glue pen.  Once I had punched the top, I added some dusty Basic Grey Mello fibers.

Isaiah 41:10

Hello and welcome.  I'm sharing a card I made for one of the Dare To Get Dirty challenges over on Splitcoaststampers.  The DTGD challenges are a week of special challenges for Fan Club members only.

After dusting off a Stampabilities stamp I've had for eons it seems, and never used, I stamped it in memento black before layering the negative of a book die over it then stippling Tim Holtz old paper distress ink to "age" it a bit.  Kind of like the pages of a well worn bible.  I then popped up the layered saying using dimensionals onto a red card before adding some red silk flowers I've also had for years.  The only other embellishment was a red bling center to the flower. Besides the DTGD challenges on Splitcoaststampers, I'd like to enter this into the following:

Where's The Fountain Of Smart?

Hello and welcome.  It's Freebie Friday at Bugaboo Stamps blog Catch The Bug.  Today's image is Stella Calendar September, and she is priceless!

After printing off the image onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored her using both prismacolor and copic markers before sponging ballet blue ink around the edges and layering.  For the card, I added some never before used Creative Imaginations ruled designer paper I had forgotten I had onto a ballet blue card.  I then took some matching scrap card stock, stamped a book border using a retired MFT set, then also sponged ballet blue around the card before adding my layered image.  The only embellishments added were matching brads, ribbon and some dew drops.

My Little Lady

Had to take Squeaky to the vet this morning.....She had told us it was time. The house is going to be really different not having her around. She had a great life with us for 22yrs. She had been feral for 2yrs before we adopted her from the local high kill shelter. She was my nightly cuddle buddy, and in the winter/early spring, she would sleep under the covers with me snuggled up to my chest. We are all really going to miss her.

Fly free Squeaky. Please give Tigger, Midnight, Pyro, Bella & Sampson head bumps from all of us. We'll see you again. Love you so much my Little Lady.

Jesus Christmas Tag

Hello and welcome.  Today is Anything But A Card day over at Bugaboo's blog Catch The Bug, so today I have a cute little Christmas Tag to share using the Christmas Words - Jesus image; which is new for me.

After printing the image onto Hammermill white card stock, and coloring with both prismacolor and copic markers, I stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass and chipped sapphire inks over, and around, before layering.  I then added some brushed copper mini brads before dusting off my Making Memories stapler, and staples, then  stapling a grey ribbon to the top.  I haven't used that stapler in years!!  I had to literally DIG through the drawers on my desk to find them. Now where did I find them?  Right were they should have been!  Ugh!  I'm very happy with how it turned out despite the frustrated stapler search.

Zombie Halloween

Hello and welcome.  It's Freebie Friday over at Catch The Bug  Today's image is a cute little kid zombie sitting on a moon.  Perfect for Halloween and also a perfect way to use up card stock and designer paper snippits.

After printing my image onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers.  I then stippled Tim Holtz chipped sapphire and stormy sky distress ink around the edges before stippling some basic gray dye ink to darken the "sky" a bit more before layering and adding silver brads with a Halloween charm.  For my card and border, I pulled out some left over black Halloween designer paper I had bought from the Target dollar spot years ago.  I then die cut a spider web border I received as a RAK a few years back before adding the layered image panel over it using dimensionals.  I then die cut the skulls and bone from a scrap of white card stock before stippling Tim Holtz old paper distress ink over them before adding using glue dots and a glue pen.  As an afterthought, I highlighted parts of the colored image using Sakura 3D glaze pens.  The final embellishment was a black organdy ribbon.

Stain Glass Pelican

Hello and welcome.  I'd like to share with you a card made using the new to me Pelican Stained Glass 1473-DG digital image from Impression Obsession.  Now if digital images are not your thing, you can find the rubber stamp here.

After printing the image onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before layering and adding brushed copper brads.  For the card, I dusted off some stained glass True Faith designer paper and added that to a really rust card before sponging really rust ink around the edges.  I then added a black border before adding a strip of the matching card stock then popped up the layered image over that using dimensionals.  The only other embellishments added was black organdy ribbon and some dusty cowboy dew drops.  I still wasn't happy with the card so I took out a Sakura black 3D glaze pen and went over the stained glass "lead" lines to add dimension.  Good thing I was happy with the card then because my head was hurting.

Big Sister Princess

Hello and welcome.  Today we have another new release for Bugaboo Stamps called Bobblehead Big Eye Princess.  Since my card today is going to a friends grand-daughter that just became a big sister.  Her little brother was born premature, but is feisty enough to be discharged from the hospital the same time as his mom.

After printing my image onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before lightly stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the edges then layered.  The layered image panel was then added to a regal rose card with glittered tiara designer paper.   Please forgive me, but I don't remember who makes the designer paper as it was in my scrap pile.  I then sponged rose ink around the edges of the card before adding a pink ribbon, K&Company pillowed sticker (I've had for eons and never used), and highlighted the parts of colored image with diamond ice stickles.

Celebrating You With Balloons And A Puppy

Hello and welcome.  Today is Freebie Friday over at Bugaboo Stamps and is a cute little puppy holding a bouquet of balloons.  This image would be great for any type of celebration, scrapping a family vacation, or just to say hello.  For my card, I chose to turn it into a birthday card.

After printing the image off onto Hammermill white card stock and coloring with both prismacolor and copic markers, I stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink over, and around, the image.  I then stippled Tim Holtz faded jeans and old paper to "vintage" the image up a bit before edging it in chipped sapphire ink and layering.  I then added the layered panel to a navy card with Basic Grey Boxer designer paper that I dusted off.  I then took a retired Stampin Up set Mixed Greetings and stamped the saying in memento black before stippling the same inks on it.  Since I didn't have anymore navy brads I made my own "faux brads" with a small hole punch and a Martha Stewart glue pen.  As a final thought, I added some faux sewing lines on both panels, popped the saying panel up over the image and added some never before used navy tear drops.  The final embellishments were some navy hemp twine, 3D glaze pens, and a white gel pen on the puppy's eyes.  I'm really happy with how this turned out.

Dreaming Of Baby

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made for a friend, and her daughter who just had a baby (a little early mind you).  For my card, I ended up using a never before used digital image from Bugaboo called Baby Moon along with some K & Company embossed designer paper I had totally forgotten about and found while looking for an embellishment for something else.

I started by printing the image out twice onto Hammermill white card stock and coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink over, and around, the image before layering.  I then added the layered panel onto a barely banana card with the K&Company Cuddly Friends embossed vellum designer paper and a dry embossed center border.  I then added a Hero Arts ribbon I've had for a few years, and never used.  The only other embellishments added was some faux barely banana "brads" using a small hole punch along with a Martha Stewart glue pen before highlighting parts of the image using 3D glaze pens.  As an afterthought, I dusted off my dew drops and added four plumeria dew drops using micro glue dots.

Celebrating You With Ice Cream

Hello and welcome.  Today is the new release day for Bugaboo Stamps and we're celebrating it over at Catch The Bug.  The image I'm sharing is called Knobby Knees Ice Cream Scoop and can be found here.

After printing my image onto white card stock, I pulled out some unloved Die Cuts With A View Sweet Stack designer paper and added that to a lavender card.  I then took my image, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before sponging some lavender lace dye ink around the edges and adding some purple brads.  Since I let the designer paper control my color choices, I decided to give the image, and card, the feel of an ice cream shop in the 50's or 60's.  For the saying, I pulled out a long retired Stampin Up set then stamped it in memento tuxedo black dye ink.  Once done, I added it to the card using dimensionals before adding a never before used purple gingham ribbon.  The final embellishment was to take Sakura 3D glaze pens to highlight parts of the image.

Flamingo Hello's

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card with you that basically sums up 2020 so far.  Sometimes I feel like it's completely upside down.

I started out by stamping the Upside Down Flamingo from Gerda Steiner Designs before coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once that was done, I stamped the saying from the Hedgehog With Sign and lightly stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around it then edged it with memento black before layering.  I then added some pink brads and added the panel to the card stamped in regal rose ink using the Stampin Up Itty Bitty Backgrounds (retired).  After adding some pink ribbon and faux stitching, my card was finished.

Thanks A Melon Summer

Hello and welcome.  Today is the new Saturday challenge at Catch The Bug where I'm guest designing.  This week the theme is Goodby Summer.  Where I live here in California's Central Valley, summer means watermelon season!  There are acres and acres of fresh watermelons harvested on the west side of the Central Valley.  My project uses Bugaboo's August newsletter (which you can subscribe to on the Catch The Bug blog and is new to me) freebie called Summer Peek Watermelon.  If you're not a newsletter subscriber, you can find the image here.

After printing my image onto Hammermill white card stock and coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers, I lightly stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink before sponging some SU rose red around the edges.  After layering, I added it to a rose red card with some watermelon designer paper I've had for who knows how long, since I don't remember buying it.  After popping up the main image panel, I realized I needed some black brads on it.  Since I'm out of those, I made my own by using a small hole punch and Martha Stewart glue pen.  Once I stamped my saying from a LONG retired Stampin Up set called Tiny Talk, I punched the saying and border out, then added to my card using glue dots.  The only other embellishment was some red/pink fibers from my stash.

......for ice cream!!!  Hello and welcome.  Today is Freebie Friday over at Catch The Bug.  The freebie this week is this wonderful little ice cream cone with sprinkles and topped with a cherry.

After printing my image out onto white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before stippling Tim Holtz broken china distress ink around the edges before layering.  I then added some coral brads and added the panel to a multi-colored panel on a white card I received as a RAK (thank you Kelli).  I then stamped the wish saying in memento black directly onto the card before adding some velvet ribbon and prima flowers with a pearl center.  The final touch was highlighting parts of the ice cream cone using Sakura 3D glaze pens and a faux sewing border.

Jingle All The Way

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a Christmas card I made using a never before used retired mini set from Taylored Expressions called Bubble Greetings - Jingle

After stamping the image onto white card stock, I colored it using copic markers before die cutting using a Spellbinders book die then layering.  I then ran a white panel through my big shot and dry embossed it using a Cuttlebug ornament embossing folder before adding that to a red card.  I then tied a red organdy ribbon before adding my layered book panels using dimensionals.  I'm really happy with how this turned out since I had a bit of a migraine while making it (took 3 days yikes).

Just Flying By....

Hello and welcome.  I'm guest designing for Bugaboo Stamps.  Today I'd like to introduce you to today's new release called Lily Ladybug Set and you can find her here.  This is a cute little set of three images.  I totally love it!!

For my card today, I started out by importing the flying ladybug image into MS Word and then typed my own saying under her before printing out onto Hammermill 80 lb cover stock; but that's another post entirely.  I am also in love with this card stock. It is so much like copic paper but a whole lot more affordable!!  Once I had the image printed out, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before lightly stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink over, and around, the image then layering.  For the card, I grabbed a long piece of scrap Georgia Pacific card stock and used that to be my card base.  I then stamped a long retired Stampin Up set Itty Bitty Backgrounds in memento black and pure poppy ink to create the card.  I then layered my ladybug, added it to the stamped card and then stippled more tumbled glass around the completed card.  The final embellishments were bling enamel dots and a small silver bow.
