Pure Innocence Tag Card

Hello again.  Did you have fun at the release party?  Hopefully you also had fun shopping afterwards too.  Today I'm showcasing another brand new Pure Innocence set called Splish Splash which is part of the Boy And His Dog line. 

I wanted to do something a bit different with this card, so I used some pre-folded tag card stock from Joann's I've had in my stash for years.  Pulling out some We Are Memory Keepers quad square 12x12 designer paper, I cut the squares out and then made sure the designer paper layered out into several tags.  I then stamped my image onto MFT white Perfect Panels (my favorite stamping paper) and colored everything with Prismacolor markers.  Once that was done, I layered my image to without adhering so I could see what I would need to cut down to make it fit after stamping the rain dots from MFT's Stephanie Fizer's Rainy Day Friends in the background. 

Once the cutting was done, I stippled Stampin Up! bliss blue ink around the edges and then added some Michael's sticker dots to resemble rain.  I did the same thing for the inside of the card, only I also added sticker dots to parts of the saying as well.

The ribbon fibers is something else I discovered in my stash.  Not sure when I bought that one either. ;)  Maybe I should go through it more often since I'm finding new stuff to play with and match with my MFT stamps.  Although I have plenty of stamps from other companies, my MFT stuff is my favorite.

MFT Teasers Day 5 - Who's That Girl Bottom Of My Heart

Today is the last day of teasers before the big release party tonight and the Shop-N-Hop.  In a way, I'm sad to see this day come since it's my last day being on the December Temp Team.  I have had a blast being a part of the teasers and showing the amazing sets/dies MFT is releasing tonight. 

Now, I have several favorite Who's That Girl sets, and this month's release Who's That Girl From The Bottom Of My Heart is sure to be a favorite of many because of it's versatility.  It can not only be used for Valentine's Day, but friendship, thinking of you and sympathy as well.  All you have to do is just mix different sayings with the main image.  So, are you ready to see Who's That Girl in a different light?

First up, I've made a vintage type sympathy card using WTG in soft rose & vanilla colors.    I stippled Tim Holtz tea stain ink around the edges of the card, image, and the scalloped/chain die cut borders before popping up the main image.  For the gold pearl stickers I added, I had to lightly sand them for a "worn" look and then stippled tea stain over that.  Now make sure to lightly sand the pearls or you'll end up removing ALL of the gold plating like I did the first time around.  Since I wanted matching brads, I took the punched out dainty dots border designer paper, and used those as "faux" brads.  A little gold ice stickles matches them to the pearls.  I also spread gold ice stickles over the rolled flowers using a  Q-tip. 

Here's a look at the inside using the sympathy quote from the now retired Essential Sentiments. 

Next up, our WTG is used for just your standard friendship card.  I wanted to make this one monochromatic, so I grabbed some SU brocade blue card stock and some Prima vintage designer paper I've had in my stash for who knows how long.  Using the Doily Die-namic and the Faux Crochet border Die-namic, I cut both out of the card stock and designer paper.  Once that was done, Tim Holtz faded jeans ink is stippled over them and the around the card. 

After popping up the doily and the main image, I decided something else was needed.  Finding a silver "love" clip charm from the stash, I lightly pulled up one part of the doily to clip it to.  However, that spot would not stay back down, so using Jen Del Muro's philosophy of "a mess up is a great time to embellish", I pulled up all of the edges of the doily which gave it some extra dimension.  Cool!

For the inside, I used one the friendship saying that comes with the set and the new heart trio Heart Trio Die-namic being released tonight at 10PM EST. 

Last up is our basic Valentine card done up in a vintage style once again using the Doily Die-namic, and both of the soon to be released Dainty Dots Border and Heart Trio Die-namic.  This time I used some Basic Gray Curio designer paper and SU card stock.  The main image is stamped right onto the SU so saffron card stock and colored with my prismacolor markers.  Tim Holtz walnut stain ink is stippled over the entire card, sides, die cuts and images to give it more of a "worn look".  Everything is popped up except the key and keyhole brads from my stash.

MFT Teasers Day Three - Pure Innocence

Welcome!  Have you enjoyed all of the eye candy from the designers so far?  For all of you Pure Innocence lovers, MFT is releasing four (4), that's right, four new Pure Innocence sets this month!!  You're going to want them all.

Today I'm going to share with you a few projects using one of my favorite PI sets from this month's release.

My first project uses the Pure Innocence Hello Cupcake set and the Flower Trio & Leaf Trio Die-namic set. I just knew I was saving this Basic Gray Cupcake Designer Paper for a reason.  Don't you think it matches this set perfectly?  Totally cool, huh?

My main image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink and colored with prismacolor markers before popping up my Pure Innocence image on dimensionals and adding some baby brads.  Here's a close-up of the Flower & Leaf Trio Die-namics.

My second project still uses the Pure Innocence Hello Cupcake image but in a scrapbook layout to show you the versatility of the set.  I've been meaning to scrap these photos of my kids forever, and receiving this set got me moving to get it done.

The image is once again stamped in memento tuxedo black and colored with Prismacolor markers.  I decided to use colors that match MFT's signature style.  I'm so pleased with the way this page turned out since the memory is just priceless. 

You see, when my now 18 year old son was just 4-5 years old, he once told me the following: "Mom, I like cake but why do you put so much bread with it?"  His idea of cake was just the frosting and the "bread" was the cake itself.  He continued asking that after his sister was born and for her first few birthdays until he realized the difference.  Now, his dad and I tease him about that every time his birthday comes up.

I have one more project to show you another Pure Innocence set called Splish Splash and a brand new Die-namic called Dainty Dots being released on December 1st.  Remember growing up and just having to find a puddle to jump in as a kid?  This set, part of the Boy And His Dog series, captures that fun again.  I decided to pair my image & die up with some MFT ribbon I've had for awhile and some designer paper I found at the Target $1 spot over the summer.  I just knew there was a reason I bought this paper and never used it. :)

MFT Teasers Day Two - Ice Skating Flopsey, Flapper Doodles, Die-Namic Duos Flower Silhouette Die & Stamp Set

Hello again.  First let me start by saying how much I love Flopsey!!!  If you do to, then you're not going to be disappointed by this month's Flopsey release called Ice Skating Flopsey.  When I first saw the set, I immediately thought "what a great Christmas present set".  So....that's what I went with since Christmas is only a few weeks away.  I'm planning on making a CD for my dad and step-dad of my daughters band/colorguard performances since they both live out of town and couldn't make any of them this year or last. 

I started by stamping Flopsey three times on MFT's white Perfect Panels in memento tuxedo black ink and colored them with prismacolor markers before cutting one out.  Pulling out a CD tin from my stash and some retired Stampin Up! winter designer paper, I put some score tape on top of the CD tin and then turned it over onto the designer paper.  (Thanks Jodi for the tip from your blog)  This way I only had to cut around the sides with my Fiskars finger craft knife instead of trying to "match up" everything.

Since I also wanted Flopsey to have some snow banks behind him, I tore some scrap paper and stippled Stampin Up! bashful blue ink lightly for the two uncut images.  Once I also added the snowflake brads and punched images to the upper right corner, the other three needed something so I punched out my own brads using a hand held circle punch.




This set of four has some fantastic sayings to go along with the Flopsey image.  I've used the Thinking Of You here on the decorated inside.  Only this time, I used a punched out snowflake by the saying instead of a brad.

A Little Bit Of Shamrock Pure Innocence

Hello again. I had so much fun with these Pure Innocence kids, I just had to make another one.

This little girl is 4 Leaf Clover Pure Innocence and she is another cutie pie. I stamped her on MFT Perfect Panels in memento tuxedo black and colored her with prismacolor markers twice leaving one aside to cut out and pop up on dimensionals later.

Since I was going with a St. Patty's Day theme, I decided to pull out some Imaginesce paper and use the back side with the clouds only on it, matched up my ribbon and cardstock before pulling out a gem sticker shamrock I had found at Michaels for a $1. After adding some green brads, primas and shamrock gem stickers, my cutie pie is finished.

So what do you think? Aren't these Pure Innocence kids just too cute?

MFT'S Blog Hop-N-Shop

Welcome everyone to MFT's Shop N Hop! I sure have enjoyed being guest designer this month! You should have come from Megan's blog. If not, you should start at Kim's blog because you don't want to miss any of the eye candy along the way.

I'm showcasing a couple of different sets because I just couldn't make up my mind because this release is just so awesome! For my framed scene, I stamped both Jolinne Best Friends Always and Heart Sings Jolinne on MFT Perfect Panels in memento tuxedo black and colored them with prismacolor markers.

Taking some confetti flowers, I colored them with my markers to match the K&Co Wild Rose designer paper, then cut them up and adhered with glue dots before adding gem stickers and a ribbon bow.

Once my confetti flowers were glued down, I took the Jolinnes and added them to the frame, popping them up on dimensionals, mini pop dots, and regular pop dots as needed for added dimension.

My second project uses the wonderful bone template Kathy Daume created for us paired up with the Pure Innocence set A Boy and His Dog.

Once my template was downloaded and cut out, I stippled creamy caramel ink around the edges of the bone to "dirty" it up a bit like it had just been dug up out of the ground. Then I took some pop dots and popped up the second bone over the card itself before adding some MFT Coffee and Cream Ribbon Nest.

I then stamped my Pure Innocence guy on MFT Perfect Panels in memento tuxedo black and colored with prismacolor markers before lightly stippling bashful blue and caramel inks around the edges.

Finding a bone brad in my stash helped add just a little something extra to the card.

WTG Turns 40!

Have you ever needed a snarky, but classy 40th, over the hill birthday card? Well, this month MFT's Who's That Girl set lets you do just that and more.



I started out by pulling out some DCWV flocked black/white mat stack designer paper. Then I stamped my images twice on white MFT perfect panels and colored with prismacolor markers, placing one set to the side for cutting out later.



After coloring in grays and blacks, I pulled out some primas and pearls to use as embellies.


What I really like about this WTG set the best is the number candles that allows you to personalize the card & cake with, plus the sayings that go with it.

Jolinne And Her Bear, Jolinne Sings Too

Isn't this little girl precious? She's one of the new Jolinne releases this month called Jolinne - Best Friends Always.

When I first stamped this image, I thought it was a little dog she was holding, but then realized it was a baby bear. Still so cute, and still so precious.

Stamped in memento tuxedo black and colored with Prismacolor markers, the grass is stamped in PTI avocado ink around the rock she's sitting on. Sage shadow chalk is rubbed around the base of the rock before lightly stippling bashful blue ink for the sky and then mauve mist/sage shadow around the outside edges before distressing and layering.


Since I wanted to keep a softer feel to the card, embellies were kept to a minimum with only a mauve organdy ribbon and a K&Co chipboard butterfly with gem stickers for the body.

Normally I don't decorate the insides of my cards, but with this release, the images have been so cute, I've found myself doing that, so here's a look at the inside of this card.


My second card showcases Heart Sings Jolinne and she is just as adorable as the first set.

I stamped her on MFT Perfect Panels in Memento Tuxedo Black ink twice and colored with Prismacolor markers setting one image aside for cutting out and popping up later. Once I was done coloring, I then lightly stippled Stampin Up! regal rose ink around the sides of the card and image before layering then adding MFT Chocolate Kiss Baby Braddies to the corners. Once I had her popped up, I had decided to add some Skinny Spring Nest Ribbon, so I just slid it underneath my Jolinne, then dug through my Valentine stickers to find a cute heart one to add to the bottom corner, then highlighted her eyes with a Copic Spica pen.

Doesn't that Heidi Grace designer paper just totally match the musical notes? It totally reminds me of the stanzas at the end of a line of music.

A Vespa For A Bunny

This weeks Wednesday Stamp Club challenge was to stamp Flopsey in all of his glory - in other words totally nekkid. You got it, no coloring, no markers, no watercoloring. However, we could paper piece Flopsey. So I figured if we could paper piece Flopsey, why not use fun flock too. I'm sorry but a bunny cannot be nekkid. I decided to pair him up with one of the soon to be released sets on March 3rd from MFT called Joy Ride.

If you've seen any of the teasers so far this week, you might remember Kim's secret desire to own, and eventually tootle around town on a pink vespa. So my flocked bunny is standing right next to Kim on her pink vespa selling flowers. ;) Since I'm also the Guest Designer this month and can't participate in the challenge here but thought it looked like a lot of fun, I pulled out my K&Co Life's Journey designer paper that had writing on it just like the challenge called for and I think it turned out pretty good.

I stamped Flopsey and my Joy Rider on MFT Perfect Panels in Memento Tuxedo black and colored with Prismacolor markers. The flowers I stamped on some scrap perfect panels, colored and cut out to add later once I was totally done. Once my main image was done being colored, I lightly sponged Stampin Up! soft sky and mauve mist inks around the edges of the image panel and the card itself before adding some Making Memories vintage brads I've had forever and a day in my stash. I then added some ribbon, primas, fun flock to Flopsey and Stampendous Class-a-peels to my flowers before popping up one set just above Flopsey's basket.

It's A Pure Innoncence Kind Of Day!

If you love the Pure Innocence stamps, well then you won't be disappointed in this months release! MFT will be releasing FIVE Pure Innocence stamps this month, and I'll be showing you three of them today.


The first one is called Happy Mail, and for some reason she reminds me so much of Charlie Brown standing by his mailbox waiting for that elusive valentine from the little red-headed girl. However, I didn't color her up that way. Instead I went with some Basic Gray urban prairie designer paper for my background and then designed my card around that.


My PI girl is stamped on MFT white perfect panels twice and then colored with prismacolor markers; placing one image aside for cutting out later. After lightly stippling bashful blue ink around the edges and layering, I added my additional image popped up on dimensionals before placing the whole panel on the card. Then I threaded some bakery blend lace ribbon underneath and tied it into a bow before adding some primas and dew drops to finish it off.



For my second sample, I stamped my boy and his doggie on white MFT perfect panels in memento tuxedo black and colored with prismacolor markers before stippling bashful blue ink around them. Taking the grass stamp from Hanging With My Peeps, I stamped the grass in PTI ripe avocado before lightly sponging old olive around the edges.

Since I've finally taken my Janome sewing machine out of the box from last summer, but still haven't used it yet, I took a black marker and made some faux sewing doodles along the edges of the image panels and then again along the sides of the card to match it up before adding some clear MFT chocolate kiss glittered garnishes.


This third Pure Innocence girl is my 12 year old DD perfectly - always with her MP3 player plugged into her ears. If I want to say anything to my DD, I have to pull those earplugs out to get her attention.

I found this really cool Cloud 9 Cinnamon Stick paper that reminded me of record albums growing up. I had a ultrasound tech of mine explain to her 9 year old son record albums as "really big CD's". I kind of let the paper decide the color scheme with this card, and I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Are you ready for some fun? This set so far has to be one of my favorites of this months release! I love it!! There are just so many different ways to use it. Of course, I just had to go with vintage for my samples, however, I can see this set being used for all seasons and stamping styles.

I started out by stamping my main image twice on MFT cream perfect panels setting one aside to cut out later. Taking a stipple brush, I lightly stippled bashful blue ink around the image before stippling Tim Holtz tea stain over that and then distressing the sides.

After adding brushed copper brads to corners, I was ready to place my main image inside the frame I had found on clearance at Walmart for $1. Since the frame was way too light for my liking, I sanded it down a bit and then stippled Stampin Up! creamy caramel ink around the sides to darken it up until I was happy with it. Once that was done and dry, all I had to do was assemble the inside frame minus the glass popping up the vespa pieces, dog, seat, and suitcase. For the tag, I sponged olive ink around the sides before adding the ribbons, primas and stamping the saying.

My second sample is still somewhat vintage and uses some really cool Making Memories 8x8 paper I found in my stash that reminds me of summer vacations when my family would just pack up the car and just go somewhere.

Stamped on MFT white perfect panels and colored with prismacolor markers, I lightly sponged soft sky and caramel around the edges before adding some Making Memories travel embellies I found in my stash. The headlamps are highlighted with diamond ice stickles because you have to have bling somewhere on a card, right? :)

Inside is stamped the saying "On the go...go..go".

Candy Rattles!

Welcome everyone! Today the Design Team is previewing the set I Want Candy that is being released on March 3rd.


However, I'm going to show you a different side to the set. When I first saw the set, I noticed one of the suckers looked like a baby rattle.

I started out by stamping several "rattles" on MFT white perfect panels in memento tuxedo black and colored with prismacolor markers. Then I cut them out and adhered around the CONGRATS Alphadots popping up on dimentionals as needed.

After adding some ribbon around one of the rattles with a matching gem sticker in the center, I looked through my stash to take care of the empty spot in the top left corner. Sure enough I found some flocked teddy bears that were once part of my mom's crafting stuff that had been gifted to me when she passed away. After adding a stamped bow to the bears, my cards were done. Thanks mom!

Hoppy Easter Everyone!

Hello again. I am loving this new MFT What's Crackin set. It's just too cute to put down for too long.


I stamped my images on MFT perfect panels in memento tuxedo black and colored with prismacolor markers. Then I took a stipple brush and lightly stippled Stampin Up! bashful blue around the images before taking a Martha Stewart grass punch and adding it to the bottom of the main panel.


After adding a button-y bow to the bottom and a felt butterfly, my card was finished.

Now how awesome is that!?

For my Who's That Girl card, I chose to go with the "June Cleever" look since it's going to be my dad's birthday card. He turns 65 in just two weeks and has just gotten his Medicare card, so when he called me last weekend to tell me this, he announced "Now I feel old". The inside says "You look good for your age". I thought he would get a kick out of that.


The background paper is from Basic Grey's Nook and Pantry collection and the button & baby braddies are from the Chocolate Kiss collections.




Also being released tonight is another totally cute set by Stephanie Fizer called What's Crackin'? for $15.95 and it also has a digital paper pack being released tonight as well. Total cuteness if you ask me!!


I had a total blast making this card. First, I printed off Stephanie Fizer's spring digital paper on Sweet Tooth cardstock before stamping my images on white perfect panels twice and coloring with prismacolor markers then cutting out & popping up on dimensionals.


Sponging inks around the main image panel and the card itself just added some overall softness before adding some MFT Spring Ribbon Nest on the side.
