Well Shiver Me Timbers!!

Hello and welcome.  It's time for another Friday Freebie from Bugaboo stamps and you can grab this week's freebie over at Catch The Bug.  I love this cute little pirate monkey!

After printing him onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using Castle Art pencils.  Once that was done, I created the cloud background using a Picket Fence Studio Slimline Cloud Stencil using Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink as well as blender brushes before stippling the sand with Adirondack caramel ink.  I then layered the image and added some small silver brads then added it to my card.  The card base was created using white card stock with some dusty embossed DCWV All About Boys designer paper with stormy sky distress ink stippled around the edges.  I then added some faux sewing to the card and image panel using a black artist pen.  I admit I sometimes do things backwards. *shrugs* Oh well, it worked this time.  The only other embellishments were two silver dew drops and a pirate sword charm I've had in  my stash for years, and I mean years!  I'm really happy with how this turned out since I'm still dealing with these blasted migraines.

Hello Earthlings!

Hello Earthlings and welcome!  Just what 2020 needs now, a space alien, however since this one is too darn cute to say no to, I'll take him!  Today is another new release from Bugaboo Stamps and today we have two cute images for your collection.  My card features the space alien since I've had these cuttlebug kids dies for years and hadn't used them yet.

After printing the image off on Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before layering and adding some silver brads.  Once that was done, I pulled out my chalks and a cotton ball before coloring the space background in.  I then die cut the planet twice (once yellow, once red), and the spaceship, before adding them to my card.  I then pulled out some silver snowflake stickers I've had for years and added two of them for stars before adding ice stickles to the background, planet/spaceship and my die cut stars.  The final embellishments were silver dew drops in the space ship windows and Sakura 3D glaze pens to highlight parts of the alien image.  I'm happy with how it turned out since my migraines have been active again and I've been at the point of cry or try to focus on something else.

Do The Mash!!

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made for the Impression Obsession It's A Guy Thing challenge.  For my take on the challenge, I went with something for all the "little guys" in our lives.  The whole time I was making this card, I kept having the lyrics from Bobby Pickett's song Monster Mash going thru my head.

I was working in the lab late one night
When my eyes beheld an eerie sight
For my monster from his slab began to rise
And suddenly to my surprise

He did the mash
He did the monster mash

I started out by pulling some Halloween designer paper scraps to help dictate the colors I would use before stamping the monsters from the Monster Mash #CL886 set and the separate Monster Mash #C14744 saying in memento tuxedo black ink.  Once that was done, I colored the images using both copic and prismacolor markers then stippled some grey dye ink over and around the image panels to "age" them a bit and then layered the panels.  After assembling my card, I used some bat brads from my stash and added some googlie eyes to all of the monsters.  As an after thought, I pulled out a black copic spica and white gel pen to highlight the spider webs before adding one more googlie eye to the letter "O" in the saying.  I'm very happy with how the card turned out.

You can join in the challlenge as well here until August 21st at 7:00 pm CST.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.  I now leave you with the Monster Mash music so you too may sing along too.

For my card today, I decided to celebrate the birthday of a young boy, something as stampers we always seem to be short of.  I pulled out Animal Birthdays, markers, a die cut scalloped card, dew drops, and got to work.  Since I was making the card for a young boy, I decided to keep it pretty simple, no real fluff or flowers, for inspiration.

Enjoy the Hop. Come back each day for more Celebrating. We hope to inspire you to start your own Celebrations.  Get to work on the tutorials, show us what you made by Dec. 11 and check back on Dec. 12, 2015 to see if you are a winner.

Today I am using the stamp set Space Fun to make a birthday card for "the slightly older kids".  After stamping, coloring, then cutting out my images, I added them to a navy card with designer paper after stippling Tim Holtz faded jeans ink around the edges.  For the finishing touches I added some bling stickers that wouldn't make the card too "girly" so it could be given to the guys too.

Enjoy the Hop. Come back each day for more Kiddo fun. We hope to inspire you to start your own Kids projects.  Get to work on the tutorials, show us what you made by Nov. 13 and check back on Nov. 14, 2015 to see if you are a winner.

I have to say that I really love this set and so does my husband!  lol  This new set, Buried Treasure by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company, is just perfect for kid cards.  Now according to my husband, it's also perfect for the "big kids too". I'm going to take that as a not to subtle hint to make sure I use the set for his next birthday card. ;)

I started out by stamping my images in memento tuxedo black ink onto white card stock, colored with prismacolor markers, and cut out before layering onto some Debbie Mumm designer paper.  Then I lightly stippled Tim Holtz brushed corduroy distress ink over the card, designer paper and also the cut out images to "age" them all a bit.  After "aging" everything, I popped up the sayings, parrot and then made my own pineapple using a Marvy pear punch, cocoa marker, and some shredded artichoke colored Michael's bridal confetti flowers.

Once the outside was finished, I started on the inside by adding the pirate ship, a strip of designer paper and another handmade pineapple.  Here's a close up of the inside.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and don't forget to stop by the rest of the design team blogs for a chance to win today's set.

No Hitting Or Biting

Kids say some of the cutest things.  Some of their quotes are just priceless like the one I'm sharing today.  I found this stamp by Inkadinkadoo at Michael's a year ago and never inked it up until now.

I started out by stamping the quote in Papertrey's enchanted evening ink onto a die cut piece of Stampin Up! bashful blue card stock.  After that I stippled bashful blue ink around the edges of the die cut panel.  Once my panel was layered, I pulled out some die cut flowers and leaves I had received from a secret sister last year.
