A Year In Review For 2022 Blog Hop

Hello and welcome.  I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and have enjoyed being with family and friends.  I have decided to co-host this year's Year In Review blog hop put on by Elliebelle's Corner.  I have several favorite projects but will only share my Top 10 for now.

1)  First up is a card made for the Cat Lovers Hop in OctoberSinging The Song Of Our Peoples using some old Rubbernecker stamps I've had for a decade or more and never used.

2)  Next up is another Cat Lovers Hop card from October using a digital from Impression Obsession - A Cat In The Hat Jack.

3) Next I have a card that was made for the 2022 Dare To Get Dirty Challenges in July over on Splitcoaststampers - Boho Bull.   Definitely a favorite since I learned a new technique that I really like.

4)  Next up is another card I made in July using a digital from Impression Obsession.  The coloring turned out better than I thought it would - Classic Truck

5) Next is another Impression Obsession digital image I made in July - Old Fishing Hole

6)  Next is a card I made back in August while dealing with some personal and health issues - Wildlife Babies.  I really love how it turned out especially with all of the "outside stuff" I was dealing with at the time.

 7.  Next is a card made in June using my retired clear stamps from The Cat's Pajamas - Oh What Fun

8.  Next up is a card I made in May using another Impression Obsession digital stamp as part of the #cardsforukraine card drive - Another Sunflower For Ukraine

9.  April brought out my lighthouse images and another Impression Obsession digital stamp is a favorite - Spring Lighthouse  I absolutely LOVE how this card turned out.  My mother and I both loved lighthouses.  She passed away in 1991 from breast cancer and I was thinking of her a lot while coloring it.

10.   Now I love a good snarky card, and when I saw this stamp set from Whimsy in April, I knew I just had to have it, AND the family member that would be receiving this card at Christmas .

11.  In March, I played along with the Virtual Stamp Night challenges over at Splitcoaststampers.com.  For one of the challenges, I used this image from Gracielle Design - I Am The Resurrection And The Life

12.  January saw me seriously try out stenciling to use on cards using some stencils from Picket Fence Studios, and found I really liked how they turned out - Rockin' Wishes

Challenge 2251

 Sponsored by Polkadoodles

Hello and welcome.  Today starts a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  This week we're being sponsored by Polkadoodles and I would like to thank them for sponsoring our challenge this week and for providing images for the design team to use.  My card uses the Bella Bear Ice Skating image.

After printing it out onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both Lyra and Castle Arts pencils, before stippling some Adirondack espresso ink using my blending brushes from Picket Fence Studios.  I then lightly stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass and tattered rose distress inks to make it look like Bella Bear was skating in an early morning fog before layering and adding brads.  I then took a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder and my big shot dry embossed the card and two strips of scrap card stock before sanding everything to give a distressed look.  I then added my layered image using pop up glue dots.  As an afterthought, I ran a fingernail along the edge of the layered image and distressed it more.  I then added some bakers twine and a glittered prima flower before adding parts of a bridal confetti flower that were colored light green to look like leaves.  The final touches were 3D glaze pens highlighting parts of the image and ice stickles for the skirt.

PIP Challenge 2250

 Sponsored by SheepSki Designs

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we are being sponsored by  Sheepski Designs.  I would first like to thank them for their sponsorship and for providing images for the design team to use.

After printing out my image onto white Hammermill card stock, I colored it using both Lyra and Castle Arts pencils before stippling Tim Holtz walnut stain and old paper distress inks using myPicket Fence Studios blending brushes to give the image an antique, or vignette, feel before layering and setting aside.  The card was dry embossed using Sizzix Tim Holtz woodgrain embossing folder with my big shot before stippling walnut stain and picket fence distress inks until I was happy with how it looked before adding the layered image panel.  I then die cut multiple pieces of scrap card stock using my Impression Obsession pine branch and pine sprig cluster dies before stippling spruce and walnut stain inks over the die cut pieces.  I then punched several more scrap pieces using my Martha Stewart  fern/hydrangea/pine sprig punches then stippling ink over those as well.  I then started adding my cut pieces to the card using glue dots before highlighting the floral centers using crystal ice stickles.  As a final touch, I added some glossy accents to the ale glasses to highlight the alcohol a bit.

Boston Tea Party

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a card made for the new Ways to Use It Time Travelers challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.com.  For my card, I decided to go with a Boston Tea Party inspiration and pulled out a set I had bought from The Cat's Pajamas during their stamp clearance called Ship Happens.  TCP currently has the set in digital form.

After stamping my images on scrap Hammermill white card stock, I colored them using both Prismacolor and Copic  markers before stippling some tumbled glass distress ink over a slimline cloud stencil from Picket Fence Studios.  Taking some scrap light blue card stock, I used an old wave die-namic from My Favorite Things to create my waves before layering and adding brads.  The card was dry embossed using an old Cuttlebug divine swirl embossing folder with my big shot then lightly stippled more of the tumbled glass distress ink over it.  The only other embellishments are some silver/white bakers twine, crystal ice stickles and highlighted parts of the image using Castle Arts glitter gel pen all from my stash.

Woodblock Wednesday

Hello and welcome.  Today is another Woodblock Wednesday challenge.  I'm loving these fun monthly challenges because it's forcing me to pull out those wood stamps and actually use them instead of collecting them.
I've had this Garfield© stamp for, what seems like, ages.  I found it at my local Michael's but the saying I found in an online store years ago. The card uses the coffee bean trio from a retired Stampin Up Espress Yourself set.

I started out by stamping Garfield, and the saying, in memento tuxedo black on some scrap white card stock before coloring using Castle Arts pencils.  Once my image panel was layered, I added some faux brads since I didn't have any matching ones so I just made my own.  My card is stamped in Tim Holtz broken china distress ink before stippling the edges in the same ink.  Once my card was finished, I added my layered image panel before adding some prima flowers with ice stickles centers and some blue fiber around the edge.  I'm happy with how this turned out considering I've been dealing with migraines and some health challenges lately.
