We HERD today is World Goat Day and we couldn’t GOAT without celebrating! Welcome to our IG hop and we’re excited to share our goat themed cards and project with you. Did you know goats are natural weed control experts?  Let’s face it, goats are the best at weeding! Farmers often use goats to clear out unwanted plants and weeds from fields. They’re like the eco-friendly lawnmowers, munching on everything from grass to dandelions.  Goats have even been used as wildfire prevention and "mowing" overgrown historic cemeteries.

 

My card today is using a long forgotten There She Goes (now closed) stamp set called Tastes Like Chicken along with the Hot N Spicy stamp set from MFP Stamp Shop (now closed).  After stamping my images in memento tuxedo black ink, I colored everything using my Ohuhu markers before stenciling the cloud background.   As an afterthought, I added some twine and adhered a chili pepper charm to the card.  I'm really happy with how this turned out.

Thinking Of Morning Glories

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a sympathy card I made for a friend who recently lost her mother.  The image is a never before used (NBUS) digital from Impression Obsession and is called Morning Glories H1856-DG and is currently free on their site.  If you don't like using digital stamps, then you can purchase the rubber image here.

After printing off the image onto Neenah white card stock, I pulled out my prismacolor and copic markers and got to work.  Once the coloring was finished, it was layered onto larger scrap card stock and then added to a leaf green card.  I then took the saying from a retired MFP Stamp Shop set, cut it in two before stamping in memento black ink.  I then punched the photo frames from scrap cocoa card stock, framed my image, stamped the "dots" using Stampin Up's retired Itty Bitty Backgrounds then diamond ice stickles to the morning glory centers and on the sun.

Yay Nats!

Hello and welcome.  Sorry it's been a bit between posts, my health issues have been giving me fits. However, today I'd like to share a card I made for a friend who's a Washington Nationals fan.   The entire card is made using card stock scraps too.  Gotta use up those scraps you know.

I started out by stamping the baseball onto the actual card in memento blue Danube then cutting down the image panel and red layer to fit the smaller card before stamping everything else.  Once the pennants were stamped using MFP's retired Tailgate Party and then adding MFT's Wendy Alpha, I pulled colored them using copic markers before stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass ink over and around them.  I then stamped the baseball, also from Tailgate Party in memento black onto more white scraps, cut out, then popped up over the main image panel.  As an afterthought, I highlighted both the lettering and baseball using embossing glaze pens.  The only other embellishment added, were matching blue brads.

We're Watching You And More NBUS

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card that took me a few days to make thanks to my health issues. 

I started off by printing the Tempest Of Ice image (NBUS) from Stamps By Aurora Wings; then cutting the image panel down to size before stamping the icicles from the now closed MFP Stamp Shop above it.  I then colored everything using prismacolor and lyra pencils along with a blender marker.  Once the coloring was finished, I  stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass and broken china inks over and around the images before layering everything and adding brads.  For my card, I stamped the icicles in SU pacific point dye ink before adding the layered image.  Taking my blue gel pen, I highlighted the man's cloak before highlighting the wolves eyes in black, and the sword with a silver gel pen. I then added diamond ice stickles to the card, and once dry, added twine along with two wooden snowflakes to finish it off.

Heat and Toasters

Hello and welcome to my sweltering corner of the world.  Ugh!  It's going to be triple digits for the next week and that's after being in the 60's with thunderstorms two days ago (Sunday to be exact).  Mother Nature you're drunk!!

Speaking of heat, I'd like to share a card with you that took me a few days to make thanks to migraines.  Of course, I'm using another favorite Bugaboo Digital Stamp.  This one is called Margaret Live In A Toaster which pretty much sums up the temperatures for the next week.  It's also perfect for the weekly challenge over at the Bugaboo Stamps blog.  I am not one to get out of bed quickly anymore.  Especially dealing with chronic migraines and pain.  So a bit about my card now.

After I printed off Margaret and colored her using both prismacolor and copic markers, I filled in the white areas inside the frame using some Stampin Up chalk and an eye shadow applicator before layering.  Once all the layering was finished, and brads added, I stamped the card using a gear background stamp from MFP Stamp Shop (now temporarily closed) before stippling some CTMH Dutch Blue dye ink around the edges.  My only embellishments are some Recollections paper flowers with brad centers.

Welcome Christmas Into Your Heart

You read it correctly.  Christmas in April.  Today I officially got started on my Christmas cards for this year since my migraines tend to give me issues a lot, why not.

My card today is inspired by this weeks Festive Friday challenge over at the Outlawz.  The theme for this week is: Easter Eggs, Christmas Lights, Rabbits, or Easter Holiday.  I totally flew with the Christmas lights theme and pulled out a couple of Stampin Up! sets that I hadn't used before (Pick A Petal and Heard From The Heart) along with a retired MFP Stamp Shop set (Joyous Season).

For my lights, I took four different petal stamps and using various Versamagic chalk inks, stamped them at different angels to create my "lights" before hand drawing the "wire" holding the lights together. Then I stippled some garden green dye ink around the edges of the card before stamping the saying in memento black in the bottom left corner.  Once that was done, I stamped the pine boughs in memento northern pine ink along the top edge then added silver bows at the end of each "light" for a touch of elegance.

Tonight I once again semi-CASED myself and pulled out I'm Going Batty to create my card with along with some scrap 12x12 designer paper from my stash.  The only embellies I used are moon brads, bright green primas, orange ice stickles and an icicle border punch I used as a "gooey" strip.  The inside saying finishes the outside with "if the broom fits, fly it."

I then took some of my non halloween stamps (Mountains Selections, On The Fly, Tree Selections), made a card and added a broom and cat which I popped up from Halloween Selections just to see how it would turn out.  I kind of like it.
