Run Up To Christmas 2023 Wk 5

Hello and welcome to week 5 of the #runuptochristmashop2023 hosted by @love_smile_and_craft and @kellys.craft. We are going to make a card each week for 12 weeks until Christmas.  This week's theme is candy cane or gingerbread.

For my card, I pulled out an old rubber stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas  called Baked With Love (retired) and stamped it onto a scrap of vanilla cardstock in memento tuxedo black ink then colored it using prismacolor and copic markers.  Once my coloring was finished, I layered it and added brads before setting aside.  My card base is stamped in Adirondack espresso ink using the gingerbread border from the retired Holiday Borders set from Impression Obsession.  I then added some Martha Stewart gingerbread ribbon I've had for years and hadn't used up yet.  After adhering my layered image, I added "icing" and "candies" using 3D glaze/souffle pens before gluing googlie eyes to finish it off.

Woodblock Wednesday October Edition

Hello and welcome. It's time for this month's Woodblock Wednesday challenge where we're inspired to pull out those woodblock stamps (we all have them) and show them some love.  My card today uses an old Alias Smith and Rowe stained glass heart stamp I received from a friend as a RAK.

I started out by stamping the image in memento tuxedo black ink onto white Copic X-Press It card stock before coloring using both Prismacolor and Copic markers. Once the coloring was finished, I layered it and added brads before adhering my layered image to an orange card.  I then went over all of the stamped "black" lines using a black Sakura 3D glaze pen before "painting" crystal ice stickles on the hearts using a Q-Tip.

Run Up To Christmas 2023 Week 4 Elf Inspired

Hello friends and welcome to the #runuptochristmashop2023 hosted by @love_smile_and_craft and @kellys.craft. We are going to make a card each week for 12 weeks until Christmas. This week's theme is "elf /elves.  I was inspired by the elves in Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer TV specials, so I pulled out my Picket Fence Studios Baby It's Cold Outside stamp set and got to work.  After stamping my elves in memento tuxedo black on Neenah white card stock, I colored them using both prismacolor and copic markers.  I then took my PFS slimline cloud coverage stencil and blended Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink to create my clouds before layering and adding brads.  Taking my Stampin Up holly jumbo wheel, I stamped the card base in Tim Holtz pine needles distress ink before adding my layered image panel using glue dots.  I then added some crystal ice stickles as "snowflakes".  However, my card didn't feel finished so I stamped the trees from a new Stampin Up Peaceful Deer set I received as a RAK from a friend using spruce dye ink before coloring the trees in Prismacolor spruce marker and adding a tad tumbled glass to the snow.  Now it was finished some 5 days later. *shrug*  My migraines have been giving me fits again along with other stresses.

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by  Sheepski Designs.  I would like to thank them for sponsoring our challenge and for providing images for the design team to use.  My card features the image Twiggy.

After printing the image on Neenah white card stock, I colored it using both Lyra and Castle Arts pencils before stamping my "ground cover" using my Watercolor Minis (retired) from Stampin Up as well as several Stampin Up dye inks.  Once the ground cover was finished, I stippled Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink around it before layering and adding copper brads.  I then pulled out a long retired Stampin Up Leaves Awash and rolled it across my rust colored card base.  After adhering my image panel using glue dots, I then over-stamped the saying vertically.  The final touch was adding a bit of copper bling.

Run Up To Christmas 2023 Week 3

Hello Friends and welcome to the #runuptochristmashop2023 hosted by @love_smile_and_craft and @kellys.craft. We are going to make a card each week for 12 weeks until Christmas. This week's theme is "Christmas Wreath" and a good thing too.  That meant I would finally finish coloring this wreath card I started 5yrs ago (thanks to a variety of health/migraine issues) from Verve Stamps I received as a RAK from a friend.

The wreath is stamped in Tim Holtz pine needles distress ink and colored using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I blended stormy sky and tumbled glass distress inks around it before layering and adding brads.  Taking my Tonic distresser tool I ran it along the edges of the image panel before setting aside.  My card base is stamped using a retired Stampin Up holly jumbo wheel and garden green ink.  I then added the image panel using pop up glue dots before adding a few dots of crystal ice stickles to highlight parts of the image and a clear 3D glaze pen to highlight the berries.

Run Up To Christmas Hop 2023 Week 2

Hello and welcome.  Today begins the second week of the #runuptochristmas2023 hop and this week we're being inspired to use stencils so I pulled out a couple of Picket Fence Studios stencils: Tree Trio (retired) and slimline Cloud Coverage along with my My Favorite Things snow mounds/hills (retired) stencil.

I started out by stenciling my trees using Tim Holtz pine needles distress ink using a blending brush from Picket Fence Studios. I then stippled the clouds using stormy sky and tumbled glass distress inks before stamping my saying using a long retired Stampin Up Wishes Awash set.  After layering and adding brads, I adhered the panel to a green card base before adding crystal ice stickles to finish my card off.  I'm really happy with how this turned out especially since it was quick and could easily be mass produced if needed.

Flamingo Thanks

Hello and welcome.  I recently received several boxes from a friend that had to give up stamping due to health issues, and since I wanted to make a thank you card for her, I pulled out this retired set from Picket Fence Studios called Hello Beautiful and went with a pink theme for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

I started out by stamping the flamingo, and saying, using my MISTI before coloring using prismacolor and copic markers before layering and adding brads.  Taking a retired Stampin Up flamingo wheel, I then stamped the card using pixie pink ink.  Once that was done, I adhered the image panel to my card before adding some silver/white twine along the edge.  As an afterthought, I stippled some leftover pixie pink ink around the main image then highlighted the glasses using a black 3D glaze pen.

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week WE are sponsoring the challenge for a gift certificate to My Favorite Things.  For my card this week, I pulled out a retired set called Happy Waddle (I've had for some time) and a slimline card for a one-layer look. After stamping the images in memento tuxedo black ink, and coloring using my Castle Arts pencils, I stenciled the background clouds using a PFS slimline cloud coverage stencil and Tim Holtz stormy sky before stippling tumbled glass distress ink for the "ice".    The only embellishments added was diamond and waterfall ice stickles.

Are You Kidding Me?

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a birthday card I made using a stamp set I received as a RAK from a friend.  The set is a retired one called Moody Unicorns from Gerda Steiner Designs

I started out by stamping all of the images/saying in memento tuxedo black ink before coloring using Copic markers before stippling some stormy sky distress ink around the image then layering and adding brads.  I then adhered the layered panel to a dry embossed regal rose card with matching ink stippled over the raised images.  After adding some white organdy ribbon, midnight sparkle shimmer illusion bling and faux stitching around the edges, I decided to add some googlie eyes to the unicorn to finish it off.

Falling For Wednesdays Week 7

Hello and welcome.  Today is the last week of the Falling For Wednesday's hop and this week we're being inspired by Halloween.  For my inspiration, I went with Disneyland's Haunted Mansion decor especially during Halloween. So, I pulled out an old There She Goes Stamps Bugs and Hisses set and got to work.

I started out by stamping all of my images, using my MISTI, in memento tuxedo black ink, on a slimline white card, before blending Tim Holtz spiced marmalade, dusty concord, forest moss, wild honey, walnut stain and chipped sapphire distress inks to create my background.  I then pulled out my stash of googlie eyes and glued those down along with some Meraki sparkle midnight illusion bling to finish my card off.  I'm so happy with how this one turned out especially since I had a blast making it.

Run Up To Christmas Hop 2023 Week 1

Hello friends and welcome to the #runuptochristmashop2023 hosted by @love_smile_and_craft and @kellys.craft. We are going to make a card each week for 12 weeks until Christmas. This week's theme is "Pink Christmas" and I'm using a retired set from Concord and 9th called Triangle Trees since I was stamping it while dealing with another migraine.  Plus the trees remind me of the tree lot in A Charlie Brown Christmas.

I started out by stamping my trees in Versamagic pink petunia chalk ink on Neenah white card stock before stamping the saying in memento tuxedo black then layering and adding pink brads.  My card is then stamped using a retired Stampin Up holly jumbo wheel using regal rose ink before sponging the same ink around the edges.  After adhering my layered image panel, I stippled Tim Holtz tattered rose and aged mahogany distress inks around my trees.  The final embellishment was adding some tiny Gin and Tonic star sequins from Picket Fence Studios. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.

Challenges entered:
