A Little Stained Glass Winter

 

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a couple of cards made using Conjurer of Dreams Winter Stained Glass Windows images along with several others.  First, let me just say, I absolutely LOVE Kim's stained glass images!!  For both of these cards, I merged the stained glass with the following: Polar Bears AI Art Digitals, Frosty Quirky Elves, Christmas Gnomes and Christmas Ducks.

I started out by printing a non-merged Winter Stained Glass images twice to use as designer paper before printing the merged church/gnomes/ducks image at 3.5 x 5.  After layering, and adding brads, I adhered it to my card using glue dots before adding crystal stickles to highlight the snow/church windows/frozen creek.

Next is a card using a different stained glass church image.  This time I combined it with the Polar Bears AI Art and Frosty before printing it also at 3.5 x 5 then layered and added silver brads before adhering it to the card using glue dots.  After adding some silver cord, I again highlighted the snow/windows/frozen creek using crystal stickles.  I am really happy with how both of these turned out.

A Polar Christmas

 

 

Hello and welcome.  I have a couple of Christmas cards to share I've made using images from Conjurer of Dreams as inspiration for this month's Conjurer of Dreams challenge. 

First up I have a steampunk version of Christmas using the Festive Steampunk Polar Bear, Skating Penguins and Winter Pines image sets.  I started out by combining one of the cabins from the Skating Penguins with the Winter Pines images before adding one of the steampunk polar bears.   I then found a free silhouette Santa sleigh online and added that over the moon before printing the image out twice (once for a background) onto Neenah white card stock before layering and adding brads.  Taking my paper distresser, I distressed all the layers before adhering the image panel using pop up glue dots.  After adding some white/silver bakers twine, and silver stars, I finished it off by adding crystal ice stickles.

Next up is another card using the Skating Penguins, Winter Pines sets.   I combined them with Polar Bear clipart and the Grinch before adding the Santa sleigh silhouette printing it out onto Neenah white card stock.  After distressing the edges, I added some brads before adhering to the card base using pop up glue dots.  The only other embellishments added was some white/silver bakers twine and crystal/star dust stickles glitter glue.

It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

 

Hello and welcome.  I'm still playing catch up on posts for cards I had started before the passing of my mom.  So, today I'd like to share with you a card made using one of the My Favorite Things stamp sets I recently received thanks to a gift certificate from @kreabymik.   

I started out by stamping images/saying from Christmas Carols in memento tuxedo black ink using my MISTI.  I then stamped the snowflakes in Tim Holtz broken china distress ink using an acrylic block before coloring everything using my Castle Arts watercolor pencils and a blender pencil. Once my coloring was finished, I blended some Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink for the background using my blending brushes before layering and adding brads and adhering to the card using glue dots.  I then dug out of my stash some white/silver thread and tied it across the top before adding a silver snowflake charm I've had for years.  The final touch was adding some waterfall and diamond ice stickles to the snowflakes and sidewalk.  I'm really happy with how this turned out.

Angels, Steampunk And Summer

Hello and welcome.  I'd like to share with you a Christmas card made using this gorgeous angel freebie from Gecko Galz for their monthly Christmas challenge.  As soon as I saw the image, I just knew I had to pair her with Christmas music for the background.  

After printing off the Angels We Have Heard On High that I scanned from my late mother-in-law's old hymnal, I layered it, added some faux brads before adhering it to an ivory card base then set it aside.  I then layered the angel, added more faux brads, before color spritzing forest foliage and bravo burgundy markers to distress a bit more.  Taking my Martha Stewart punches, I punched several ferns, and flowers, from scrap card stock before sending the ferns through my paper crimper and adding using Ranger glossy accents.  The final embellishment was gold ice stickles in the flowers centers.  I'm really happy with how this card turned out.

Next up is a really easy steampunk card made using Gecko Galz monthly steampunk challenge image.  As soon as she was printed off, I paper clipped her to leftover Conjurer of Dreams Timeless background paper.  I started out by layering the steampunk image onto scrap not quite navy and espresso card stock before distressing the edges and adding vintage brads.  I then adhered the layered image panel over my card base using pop dots before lightly spritzing night of navy marker using a color spritzer.  Easy peasy and looks fabulous in my opinion.

Finally, I have a fun summer themed card using Gecko Galz August freebie collage.  I really love this vintage pin-up image and decided to pair it with a swirl embossing folder for a fun card.    Once the card base was dry embossing using my Cuttlebug swirl embossing folder, I dusted off my old stipple brushes and lightly rubbed Tim Holtz wild honey distress ink over the raised images before adding the layered image panel and faux brads.  The final touches were orange/yellow organdy ribbon and spritzing some riding hood red marker over everything.  Another easy peasy card.

A Joyful Old Fashioned Santa

Hello and welcome.  I have another card I made while trying to focus on something else and not the migraine.  I've had to do something because nothing was touching it, or even taking the edge off plus I know crying will just hurt more.  I've had this pre-colored Santa image printed for a couple of weeks for the Gecko Galz© monthly Christmas challenge and I'm finally assembling it.

I started out by digging through my stash of designer paper and discovered this Recollections© Christmas paper I've had for years and haven't finished using it yet.  Once I had it adhered to my card base, I layered the Santa image and added brads before adhering it to my card using pop up glue dots.  I then dug through my embellishment stash and discovered this wooden JOY.  So I pulled that out, then pressed it into a Tim Holtz© picket fence distress ink pad to "paint" it.  Once I had the coverage I wanted, I then glued it to my card right under the Santa.  The final touches were some red/gold/navy fibers I've had for years and some Crafty Meraki midnight shimmer illusion bling around Santa's head and also the "dot" for JOY.

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by Lawn Fawn.  I would like to thank them for sponsoring our challenge this week.  My card this week uses a few of Lawn Fawn's smaller sets to create my scene. 

 

I started out by stamping images from the Winter Alpaca, Winter Bunny and Oh What Fun sets on Hammermill White scraps before coloring using Copic markers.  I then die cut the trees from spruce colored scraps using a retired Sizzix pine tree die and my Big Shot.  Taking a white Hammermill card base, I blended Tim Holtz tumbled glass, chipped sapphire and picket fence distress inks using my blending brushes.  I then free hand cut a couple of "snow mounds" from a scrap strip of Neenah white card stock before pouncing picket fence distress ink to add some "texture".  I assembled the card by using Bearly Art glue and some glue dots.  As an afterthought, I pulled out my jar of Snow-Tex paint, and added the "snow" to my trees and the ground.  I then pulled out a white gel pen to make stars or falling snow in the night sky before adding stardust and diamond ice stickles over the white dots as well as my "snow".  Finally, I stamped the saying from the Oh What Fun on more white scrap card stock, layered it and added using glue dots.

I started out by combining the sleigh, tree and sayings using Photoshop Elements before printing both combined images on Neenah white card stock.  Taking my Ranger mini blending foams and mini ink blending tools, I started stippling/blending Tim Holtz stormy sky, tumbled glass, chipped sapphire and picket fence distress inks before layering and adding silver brads.  For the card base, I rolled a long retired Stampin Up poinsettia jumbo wheel in fired brick distress ink before adhering my layered image using glue dots.  I then added some white/silver bakers twine from my stash, a long forgotten snowflake charm and then diamond ice stickles to highlight "snow mounds" and "snowflakes" to finish the card off.  As an afterthought, I grabbed the fired brick ink pad and added the color using the direct-to-paper technique.

My second card is a mini slimline with the same distress inks used only with a little heavier application of the chipped sapphire distress ink.  After edging the side of the image panel using a retired Stampin Up night of navy marker, I layered the image before adding silver brads and running a paper distresser along the bottom layer to "rough it up a bit" before adhering it to a navy card base using pop up glue dots.  The final touches were ice stickle snow/snowflakes and some silver star Stampendous stickers I've had in my stash for years.

Hello and welcome.  Second post today.  If you're looking for my Pammie's Inky Pinkies post, please scroll down one.   I have a cute little Christmas card I made using scrap card stock and a free digital image from Gecko Galz to use in their Christmas challenge. 

I started out by printing the image on a full sheet of Neenah white card stock as a wallet size picture before trimming down and layering on scrap white/navy card stock.  I then added some silver brads and set aside to work on the card base.  Taking an 11 inch scrap, I folded it in half before embossing it using a Cuttlebug© snowflake embossing folder and my Big Shot©.  I then used a color spritzer and a navy Stampin Up marker to spritz navy ink over the embossed images before adding my layered image using glue dots.  After adding a small navy bow, I ran the navy marker along the outside edges to finish it off.

A Raven and Christmas

I'd like to share a couple of cards I had started a couple weeks ago, and easy ones at that, but I just didn't get them done before now thanks to my migraines.  The first card uses a freebie image from Gecko Galz for their monthly goth challenge.  After printing, and layering it, I dug out some long forgotten brushed pewter brads and added those,  I then took a Cuttlebug spiderweb embossing folder and dry embossed the card base before lightly stippling Tim Holtz picket fence and chipped sapphire distress inks using my paper pouncers.  Digging through my flower stash, I found a couple of silk navy flowers, added those to the card using glue dots, and then stamped, punched and popped up my saying.  I then used a black Sakura 3D glaze pen to make the saying stand out a bit more.

My second card also uses a freebie image from Gecko Galz for their January Christmas challenge.  Unfortunately, I didn't get this one finished in time to for the challenge thanks my migraines.  I kept this card extremely simple and layered the pre-colored image before adding brushed copper brads before adhering it to the burgundy card base.  I then pulled out a long retired Stampin Up Wonderful Words set and stamped the celebrate underneath the image.  For the final touch, I added some diamond ice stickles to the snowflake centers on the pre-colored image.

Believe In The Magic

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card using one of my all time favorite things - a SNOW GLOBE!!  I just love snow globes.  They offer glimpses into another world and are just calming I think.  My snowglobe today uses the Bunny Snowglobe digital stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas.

After combining the image, and saying, in a watermark program, I colored it using my Castle Arts watercolor pencils for blending later.  Once the coloring was finished, I stippled/pounced some Tim Holtz tumbled glass and mowed lawn distress inks around the colored image using my paper pouncers, and blending brushes, before layering and adding some silver brads.  Taking my card base, I dry embossed it using a Cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder I've had for years using my Big Shot.  I then stippled more mowed lawn distress ink over the embossed images and around the edges.  Once that was finished, I adhered my layered image panel using pop up glue dots before highlighting parts of the "falling snow" using a silver 3D glaze pen and then adding crystal ice stickles to highlight the rest of the "snow".  This card was fairly easy to do even with a migraine.

Hello and welcome to week 6 of the #runuptochristmashop2023 hosted by @love_smile_and_craft and @kellys.craft. We are going to make a card each week for 12 weeks until Christmas.  This week's theme is Designer Paper so I pulled out an old Recollections Holiday Traditions pack and selected a page.  

Pulling out a retired Stampin Up set I've had for years and hadn't used yet called Greeting Card Kids, I stamped the Christmas girl in memento tuxedo black ink onto scrap white cardstock before coloring it using both prismacolor and copic markers then layered on more scraps before adding brads.  Pulling out a scrap mini slimline green cardstock, I adhered the designer paper before trimming it and added my layered image panel.  After adding some gold cord and gold enamel dots, my card was finished.  As a final touch, I highlighted my little girls coat/hat using a white gel pen before adding some 3D glaze pens to the little Christmas tree she's pulling.  I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

This week's theme is "elf /elves.  I was inspired by the elves in Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer TV specials, so I pulled out my Picket Fence Studios Baby It's Cold Outside stamp set and got to work.  After stamping my elves in memento tuxedo black on Neenah white card stock, I colored them using both prismacolor and copic markers.  I then took my PFS slimline cloud coverage stencil and blended Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink to create my clouds before layering and adding brads.  Taking my Stampin Up holly jumbo wheel, I stamped the card base in Tim Holtz pine needles distress ink before adding my layered image panel using glue dots.  I then added some crystal ice stickles as "snowflakes".  However, my card didn't feel finished so I stamped the trees from a new Stampin Up Peaceful Deer set I received as a RAK from a friend using spruce dye ink before coloring the trees in Prismacolor spruce marker and adding a tad tumbled glass to the snow.  Now it was finished some 5 days later. *shrug*  My migraines have been giving me fits again along with other stresses.
