Hello and welcome.  First, I would like to apologize for not posting much the last few weeks.  Between health issues, migraines and California's disgusting heat wave along with the wildfires, I have not been in a crafting mood much.  I needed to make a sympathy card for a friend who just lost a beloved cat she rescued off the streets of Hollywood several years ago.  I decided to keep the card fairly clean and simple plus ink up an old PTI set I received as a RAK (random act of kindness) a couple of months ago and haven't used yet (NBUS).

I started out by inking the tree from PTI's Through The Trees (retired) using PTI's dark chocolate ink before inking the leaves using an old Kaleidacolor Calypso ink pad then stamping onto a white card.  After stamping the saying in memento black, I decided to stamp the inside using PTI's Sympathy Loss of Pet (retired) using the same inks.  I'm really happy with how this turned out.

Every Day

Hello again.  Today I am sharing a card I made for this week's Shopping Our Stash Buttons challenge. I wanted to do a clean and simple card since I tend to have trouble with those, so after pulling out my PTI basket and some buttons, I got to work.

I stamped the image from PTI's Every Day Button Bits in memento cottage ivy ink, I pulled out a pack of Stampin Up! ice cream parlour buttons.  After selecting the buttons, I then adhered them using glue dots and then stamped my saying also from Every Day Button Bits to finish the card off.

Ladybugs And Teapots - MMTPT161

Hello!!  Happy Monday. ;)  It's time for another Mothermark Teapot Tuesday Challenge.  This week our Destination Station is Julesanne who had extensive back surgery today and she loves ladybugs.  So our challenge was to make cards with lots of ladybugs on them.

For my card, I dusted off some Die Cuts With A View cut textured layer card stock and combined it with some retired Stampin Up! old olive card stock and ink.  For my images, I pulled out my well loved Stampin Up! Inspired By Nature set and dusted off my Papertrey Ink sets Little Lady and Green Thumb and decided to show them some "love".  I inked up my Inspired By Nature stamp using Stampin Up! markers for the flowers/leaves and then an old olive ink pad for the grass.  Once those were all stamped, I stamped a few more flowers onto scrap so saffron card stock to cut out and pop up later.  Then using various memento inks, I overstamped the ladybugs and some additional flowers for color.

Stop And Smell The Flowers - Recycle Swap

Hello.  I hope you are having a great Tuesday.  Today I am sharing a card I made for the Forest Friends Recycle Swap.

For my card, I pulled out some Papertrey Ink sets that I thought would be perfect for the swap and for my recycle item - dryer sheets. ;)  I started out by punching some Stampin Up! white and green galore card stock using both the Marvy Giga and Mega Scallop Punches.  Once that was done, I started stamping the skunk, flowers, and saying from PTI's Forest Friends and Forest Friends Sentiments using various memento inks. 

Once all of my stamping was done, I began to assemble my cards; first by cutting the dryer sheets down to size and then layering them onto some white card stock using double sided tape.  Once all of that was done, I added some ribbon, primas and brads to hold the dryer sheets down a little more securely.  Then it was time to assemble the scallop circles.  After layering the stamped white one over the green galore, I then popped them up on dimensionals.

Happy Chanukah!

A short post today.  If you're looking for my MFT Weekly Stamp Club card, please scroll down.

I made this card for a friend for the Jewish Hanukah season (a little late though).  :(   I decided to use the Papertrey Ink set called Mazel Tov. 

To keep with Jewish tradition for Hanukah/Chanukah, I made the card in blue and silver and kept the inside simple.  The Menorah is stamped twice on MFT white Perfect Panels and the background dreidel is stamped using PTI's enchanted evening ink.  Once I had the candles dry, I cut out the Menorahs, popped one up before popping up the entire Menorah panel, then added some MFT Winter Solstice ribbon.

Cupcake Flopsey

Have you ever needed a cute shaped card for an event?  Well MFT has some great templates to purchase and download, plus the instructions to go along with them.

Once I downloaded this cupcake template, I printed it out three times; once on white card stock and once on Stampin Up! pretty in pink.  The bottom of one template was cut out and traced onto some designer paper.  After cutting out the "frosted" portion of the cupcake, I stamped a background using Stampin Up! pretty in pink dye ink. 

Then I stamped the Cupcake Flopsey image onto MFT's white Perfect Panels and then colored him with Prismacolor markers before stippling Stampin Up! pretty in pink ink around him to fill in the white spots.  After layering and adding some white Making Memories brads, I popped him up on dimensionals, added some Michaels $1 ribbon and a threaded Papertrey Ink vintage button.

Missing Sable

Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card for a friend who had to put her 11 year old cat to sleep thanks to cancer.  I wanted to try a different color combo for a sympathy card, so I decided on pinks and purples for the majority of the card.  I used the flowers from Papertrey Ink's Spiral Bouquet to create the background for the layers as well as the main flowers. 

After stamping my flowers, I pulled my saying from Papertrey's With Sympathy and With Sympathy Loss Of Pet to complete my card.

Praying For You

Happy Sunday everyone. I have a card to share today from the archives. I had considered sending it in for publication at one time, but just never did.

The card uses the Papertrey Ink set Wishing You along with Damask Designs. I had wanted a clean and simple card that could be used for sympathy or for someone that was having a hard time and just needed to know somebody else cared.

The tulip flower is stamped twice in PTI pure poppy ink on white cardstock so the flower can be popped up for added dimension with the leaves and "stalk" in PTI new leaf ink. The Damask backgrounds are also stamped in the same colors on their coordinating cardstocks. Two butterflies were added above the saying with bling bodies for a touch of whimsy before adding black mini brads for a touch of elegance.

Mardi Gras Horse

I'm a bit late posting my teapot challenge thanks to getting sick from the bug I nursed my hubby through last weekend. The phrase, share and share alike should not include "sickie bugs".

For this week's challenge, I dug out a stamp I've had in my stash for about 6years or so and makes a great party image. I love this carousel horse from Graphicstamp.

I started out by stamping it in memento tuxedo black and coloring with prismacolor markers before sponging Stampin Up! green galore around the sides and layering. Then I pulled out, and dusted off, Papertrey Ink's Damask Designs to make the background before popping up my carousel horse over some Michael's $1 ribbon.

Cute and simple and only took around 20minutes to make.

Journals and Gift Cards

Happy Wednesday, the week is also almost over. Now I have a question for you. What do you give two nephews who are totally into technology and who's father is a computer programmer, and mother is a computer graphic artist? Good question. These are my nephews and this was my dilemma for Christmas this last year. Couldn't get them something techie since the probably would already have it, or know about it, or mastered it. So my hubby and I decided on some handmade journals and gift cards. We figured let the boys spend the money on themselves.

I started out by printing off two different My Favorite Things Digital Robot Stamps on white cardstock and then printing off the matching Stephanie Fizer robot digital gear papers in gray and adjusting the colors to 1/2 of their normal color. Once the printer ink was dry, I colored the robots with Prismacolor markers in varying shades of gray before sponging Stampin Up! basic gray and going gray around the edges of the images before adding vintage MFT baby braddies.

Once I added the digital paper to the composition journals and trimmed the excess off, I added a small strip of Stampin Up! basic gray cardstock along the left side before punching a hole with my crop-a-dile and adding brads that looked like "screws" that would require using a Phillips screwdriver.

Once the second brads were added, I then sponged Stampin Up! basic gray ink around the sides to add some additional shadows to the journals. Here's a close-up of the second journal.

For the gift card holder, I downloaded and printed off Papertrey Ink's Cash or Charge Collection My Timeless Templates and after cutting out my template, I stamped Stampin Up's Just Jeans background over it. Once my template was assembled, and the gift card added, I just place the gift with the journal into a gift bag for each of my nephews.

Simple and so boyish.

Butterflies With Razzelberry

Hello everyone. My second Color Throwdown and what awesome colors were chosen this week. I didn't get a chance to stamp until tonight thanks to a busy week with work, however , I knew I was going to use my All A Flutter stamps again from My Time Made Easy. I'm so in love with those stamps and razzleberry is a perfect color for a butterfly. Don't you agree?

I started by pulling out a PTI set, With Sympathy, that needed to see some ink for a non-sympathy card. I used the rose from the set in sage shadow (because I grabbed the wrong color ink and didn't realize it until now) to stamp the background on the card base, then the flourishes on the top layer in garden green with the tulips in razzleberry. After stamping the saying from the All A Flutter sayings in memento black, I stamped the butterflies in rich razzleberry with the outline in memento black before cutting out, adding and then adhering some bling stickers. I layered the butterflies to give a "in flight" look as though they were flying towards the Irish Blessing.

Owls & Bluebells

Another card from the archives. I made the card for one of the last MFT sketch challenges - MFTSC99.

I chose to use a set I had not inked up yet, but had in my stash for a while. My little owls were stamped in memento tuxedo black on MFT perfect panels and then coloring with Prismacolor markers. Stampin Up! soft sky was stippled around the owls softly to fill in the white space.

The background stamping was done using PTI's Mod Squad set with Stampin Up! tempting turquoise and apricot appeal ink. The small flowers are the trio flower punch also from Stampin Up!

Christmas Present Wrap-Ups

Happy Saturday! Have you ever had a hard time hiding something from your daughter/son under the Christmas tree? Well I have. However, last year my daughter had NO idea what was under the tree for her since I used two My Timeless Templates to "wrap" two of her presents.

For the present on the left, I used the My Timeless Template Music Makeover to hide a Jonas Brothers CD my daughter really, really, really wanted. I set the template to print full page on the printer since I wanted the CD inside the template instead of the other way around. Once I had my template printed and assembled, I used my Flower Garden set to decorate the outside, a Velcro fastener to seal it, and a velvet red ribbon knotted so I would know if my daughter even tried to open the CD package. I even left off the TO/FROM info off of the outside so she would think it was for a Splitcoast Secret Sister or someone else.

It totally worked too! She had no idea what was inside until I handed her the CD package and cut the ribbon for her, showed her how to open the package, so it could be used again. There was NO way I was going to let her tear open that template package. :) You could have heard her screaming all the way to San Francisco 200miles away when she saw the Jonas Brothers CD inside; especially since I made her buy "the last one in Target" for her cousin in Arizona. I'm a mean mommy sometimes. lol

Now she also got some things to keep in her backpack for school and her purse as well. For example: nail file, lip gloss, etc and those I put in the My Timeless Template Pursonality Clutch. Once again, mom pulled one over on my daughter. The rose is hiding another Velcro closure and once the clutch is opened, the inside was full of all the little things normally inside her Christmas stocking.

Wish

Another card from the archives. I submitted this one for publication earlier in the year and unfortunately, it wasn't selected.

It uses one of my new favorite color combos for simple cards. I stamped the background in Papertrey Ink's Damask Designs in Raspberry Fizz ink before layering. I then inked the saying with Stampin Up! going grey dye ink, then wiped off the flower, and re-inked it with Papertrey New Leaf and Hibiscus Burst before stamping. A double layered prima with a gem in the center was added to finish the card off. A clean, simple, and perfectly easy card done in under 15 minutes.

Mazel Tov!

A friend of mine son is having his Bar Mitzvah today and I wanted to send him a card to celebrate the occasion.

Thank goodness Papertrey Ink came out with the Mazel Tov set. This way, I could create a card I felt was worthy for the occasion; especially since there are not many stamps out there with Jewish symbols or sayings. Thank you Nichole!

For my color combo, I decided to just copy the invitation or red, black, and gold. I started out by stamping my background in Memento Tuxedo black on Stampin Up! riding hood red cardstock using the Mazel Tov! saying and the Torah scroll before adding a layer across the middle of Stampin Up! black and riding hood red cardstock. Then I stamped my saying on the riding hood red cardstock scrap, layered on a black cardstock scrap, and outlined the black with a Pentel ziggy gold paint pen before layering. For the Torah scroll, I stamped that twice in Memento ink and cut one layer out to pop up on dimensionals, again layering on black and outlining with the gold paint pen. For a final touch, I wrapped gold cording around the center of the card before tying it off.

Kim's Boutique

Welcome once again. I know it's been a while since I've blogged. Going back to work after being off for three months interferes with stamping way too much.

Last month MFT came out with the My Favorite Kits, Just Add Color so our gracious forum hostess Kim, allowed the design team to give us junkies another challenge. The new monthly MFT Kit Challenge comes out the third Wednesday of the month and will end the at 10:00am the day before the new monthly release.

For my entry this month, I took the August kit and wanted to make it look like my shopper was walking by a store window or had just come out of the boutique from purse shopping. Now who better to have as a proprietor than our own MFT Lady herself, Kim!

I started off by stamping my box with my buddy Dawn's stamp set Damask Designs in PTI pure poppy for the background. Hmmm, wonder if the boutique has a long line to get into it too? **snicker** Now there's an inside joke in the MFT forum with the junkies, because at CHA the MFT DT kept going back to the PTI CHA booth to do some shopping and from what I understand the line to get in was very, very, very long....like an hour long.

I then stamped my shopper twice on MFT panels in memento black so I could cut out one shopper later and pop up on dimensionals and teeny tiny pop dots. I also stamped the purses from Totally Fantastic, and awning from Meet Me At The Cafe on MFT perfect panels in memento black then colored everything with prismacolor markers & cute out what I needed to so I could create my little scene.

The tiny mini brads & ribbon also come with the August kit. The letters are from a Target $1 stamp set. This kit, or something like it, would be perfect for a teen/wife/girlfriend birthday to put a gift card in, or some small items for a purse.

It's Pink And Oh So Moddy!

So I've received my new Paptertrey order including my friend, Dawn McVey's new set Mod Squad. This set is so cool and is going to be so fun to play with.

I was inspired by Dawn's pink series she's been showing on her blog to make this card. Using hibiscus burst ink and paper combined with raspberry fizz, created a really bright and cheery pick-me-up card. Adding a prima, ribbon and a gem sticker were just the final touches needed.

Christmas One Sheet Wonder

It's week 5 of Cornish Heritage Farms Summer Stamp Star Design Challenge - One Sheet Wonder. Now I've never done a one sheet wonder before so while I thought about this I kind of psyched myself out and gave me a one sheet headache for a bit. Aye vey! It was actually easier than I was making it once I got going.

I decided that since I'm behind in the Christmas card challenge, why not get caught up and make some Christmas cards. I started by printing out one of PTI's My Timeless Templates I had already purchased and not done yet called Captured Card Case. After printing out my template on Stampin Up! bashful blue cardstock, cutting it out, and assembling, I was ready to stamp my one sheet wonder.

I decided to stamp my 12x12 One Sheet Wonder (OSW) using Cornish Heritage Farms Joyeux Noel set in Stampin Up's pacific pointe and bashful blue dye ink before stippling bashful blue in between the snowflakes as seen below.

I then cut my backgrounds for three cards and the lid of my Captured Card Case from the One Sheet Wonder cardstock as seen below.

I then stamped my sayings and punched them out with the Marvy Mega and Giga scalloped punches, added snowflake bobbin ribbon from Joann's, bulk snowflake brads and then gem stickers from the Michaels $1 spot.

To finish using up my One Sheet Wonder cardstock, I pulled out a Target notepad I've had in my stash for years and have just never altered like planned. Once it was covered with my template sheet, I added some primas I've had forever with dew drop centers, then added a saying and a Martha Stewart ribbon bow to finish it off.

I then finished off my Captured Card Case box by stamping some Kim Hughes images in memento tuxedo black on white cardstock and coloring them with prismacolor markers, cutting out and adhering to the box top with glue dots. Then I added the rest of the snowflake bobbin ribbon from Joann's also with glue dots to finish everything off.

Here's what my Captured Card Case looks like filled up with my Christmas cards. It'll make a great Christmas gift later when I fill it with something else besides cards and then the notebook later. So what do you think?

I found this awesome vintage text background paper from Paper Pizazz that's been in my stash for who's knows how long. It's amazing what kind of goodies are hiding in that stash!

So I started off first by stamping on of the flowers in Enchanted Evening ink around the edge of my card before adding the kraft layer and text designer layer. I then stamped my leaves and flowers twice on white cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored them with Prismacolor markers, blended and then cut out.

Once I had the flowers cut out, I decided to sponge some Stampin Up! Creamy Caramel ink around the edges before adding them to the card and then pinching the edges up. The centers of the flowers are popped up on dimensionals as well. Here's a close up of the finished flowers:

Once I was done stamping the outside of my card, since I was still having so much fun with the set, I decided to stamp the inside of my card too. Now this is something I don't normally do. I then stamped the images again in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the designer paper and cut them out to adhere onto the kraft cardstock inside.
