Pretty In Pink

Second post from me today.  For my Pumpkin Kitty post, please scroll down one.  This cute little one took me few days to make since I was still dealing with a few health issues.  I've had her printed off for some time, just never colored or made a card with her.  It's gotten to the point with my health of, either try to focus on something besides how I was feeling, or just cry.  Lately, I've chosen coloring as my means of focusing.

This adorable little one comes from Kinda Cute By Patricia and is listed as one of her free images.  After coloring her using both prismacolor and copic markers, I stippled some going grey and pretty in pink over and around her before layering then adding some button brads.  I then pulled out a card with background I received as a RAK and added her using scor-tape.  I then added a black embossing glaze pen to highlight the eyes before adding a small pink bow.

Little Pumpkin Kitty

Hello and welcome. I've had this cute little image from Tiddly Inks called Fall Mavis (now retired although you can still get her as part of this image) for some time and just never did anything with it.  I wanted to go with a fairly clean and simple feel to the card so I did very little with embellishing the card.

After printing my image onto white card stock and, coloring with both prismacolor and copic markers, I stippled pumpkin pie and garden green inks around it before layering.  I then dry embossed a pumpkin pie panel using my big shot and pumpkin harvest cuttlebug embossing folder before rubbing the panel in pumpkin pie ink.  All this was then placed onto a garden green card.  I then added my layered image using pop up glue dots, a small black/white gingham knot, and silver circle clip.  As an afterthought, I pulled out my black glaze embossing pen to highlight parts of the Mavis image.

Five Minutes Before

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a card I made using the Stella I don't always do mornings from Bugaboo Digital Stamps for Bugaboo's October Bingo challenge as well as a few others. For my card, I went with "distress, players choice and die/punch" bingo.

After printing off my image onto white card stock and coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers, I layered the colored image onto scraps of green and brown card stock then adding brads.  I then took my fingernail to distress the outside of the bottom layer.  Next, I took another brown scrap and dry embossed it using the cuttlebug circles embossing folder along with my big shot.  I then took a sanding block to "age" the embossed layer before adding it to a dark green card.  I then added the layered image to the card using pop up glue dots before adding flowers punched from card stock scraps, bling, and two acrylic circle stickers.  My final embellishments was highlighting Stella's glasses using a silver gel pen and sponging some distress inks around the edges of the card. I'm really happy with how this one turned out since it was made on no sleep.  Can we say "thank you migraine".

We're Watching You And More NBUS

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card that took me a few days to make thanks to my health issues.

I started off by printing the Tempest Of Ice image (NBUS) from Stamps By Aurora Wings; then cutting the image panel down to size before stamping the icicles from the now closed MFP Stamp Shop above it.  I then colored everything using prismacolor and lyra pencils along with a blender marker.  Once the coloring was finished, I  stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass and broken china inks over and around the images before layering everything and adding brads.  For my card, I stamped the icicles in SU pacific point dye ink before adding the layered image.  Taking my blue gel pen, I highlighted the man's cloak before highlighting the wolves eyes in black, and the sword with a silver gel pen. I then added diamond ice stickles to the card, and once dry, added twine along with two wooden snowflakes to finish it off.

A Pink Christmas

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I've made using stamps from the now closed MFP Stamp Shop

I started out by stamping the tree branches from Create With Pine Boughs in memento black and then coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once that was done, I stamped the lights and ornaments on to scrap white card stock in memento black, colored, and cut out.  After stippling some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink over and around the trees, I sponged some regal rose ink around the edges of the image panel and layered.  Taking one of the snowflakes from Snowflake Mini, I stamped the card background in regal rose ink then sponged the same ink around the edges of the card. I then added jingle bell brads to the layered image panel and popped it up at a slant on my card, before adding the lights and ornaments.  Once that was done, I added a few more lights/ornaments by popping them up over ones directly on the card.  For the final touches, I stamped my saying in memento black onto scrap white card stock, punched it out and sponged some regal rose ink around the edges before adding ice stickles to the ornaments and some small felt bows.

Card Games And More Never Before Used Stuff (NBUS)

Hello and welcome.  I've been feeling a bit off lately, even thought I've still been creating.  It's just taking me longer to think, color, assemble, etc.  Today's card was originally started for a Splitcoaststampers Teapot Challenge but never finished until now.

Since I wanted my card to look like it had playing cards on it, so I pulled out a retired, but never before used set (NBUS) called Card Games, along with the matching Game Night designer paper.  After making the card, I pulled a scrap of the designer paper from my recycle bin to use a border by flipping to the back side.  I then stamped the king, queen, jack onto scrap card stock in memento black then colored using prismacolor and copic markers.  I layered each of the cards onto scrap red/black card stock and used my dusty corner rounder punch on each layer before popping up over the border using pop up glue dots.  The saying is from the retired Stampin Up set Game Night and is another lonely, never before used, stamp set.  After punching the saying from the leftover white/black card stock scraps, I added two tiny buttons below the saying; then added a small black bow.

Let's Do The Monster Mash!!

Hello and welcome.  I've had a bit of trouble with the health again this last week so it's taken me quite some time to both make/finish and post this card.  Although I'm not normally a Halloween card maker, "Monster Mash" is just one of my favorite songs so one would just have to make a Halloween card using this cute set from Impression Obsession.

I started out by stamping my monster images from the Monster Mash set then stamped the saying above them.  After coloring the monsters using both prismacolor and copic markers, I cut the image panel down so I could then reverse stamp the spiderweb and spider from the Monster Mash set.  Once I was finished, I then stippled basic gray ink over and around the images before layering and adding silver moon brads.  I then took a silver gel pen to the spiderweb to highlight it before taking a black embossing glaze pen to the spider, saying and highlighting parts of the monsters.  I then added all of that to an ivory card with leftover Halloween designer paper using pop up glue dots.  My final touches were googlie eyes and a black bow.  Now that I really have the Monster Mash song going through my head, I should only share with you as well. ;)

Festival Of Lights

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I've made for a friend for Hanukkah using an retired PTI set called Mazel Tov and Mazel Tov Additions.

I started out by stamping the background using the dreidel stamp in Stampin Up pacific point ink before stamping the menorah in memento black onto white scrap card stock then layering using scrap pacific point and silver designer paper.  After stamping the saying, I colored my menorah candles using copic marker then highlighting it using a silver gel pen.  Once the pen was dried, I added the silver brads, cord and silver dot stickers.

A Sparkling Wave

Hello and welcome.  Second post for me today.  If you're looking for my Eat Turkey post, please scroll down one.

I'd like to share with you a card I made using a stamp originally bought by my daughter over 10yrs ago at a stamp convention when stamping with mom was fun. She had put it into a box of stuff she was planning to toss when she moved out a few years back, so I took it out of the box.  ;)  I think the image is made by Rubberstamp Ave but I'm not sure since it was unmounted when my daughter bought it.  My hubby made a wood block to put the stamp on.

After stamping the image in Tim Holtz chipped sapphire ink, I colored it using copic markers before layering and adding white brads.    Taking a couple of scraps of black/blue card stock, I dry embossed them using a Tim Holtz cracked glass embossing folder before layering and adding to my card.  I then took a white gel pen to highlight the wave bubbles and diamond ice stickles to highlight parts of the wave itself.  The picture really doesn't do all of the sparkle justice.  The card background is one sent to me by my friend Kelli.  As a final touch, I sponged Stampin Up brilliant blue ink around the edges of the card.

Eat Turkey! Plus More NBUS Stuff

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a card I started a week ago, but migraines and other health issues didn't allow me to complete it until today.  This card was inspired by this flag from the site Flags On A Stick.

Eat Ham Color Me Applique Decorative Garden Flag

Once I saw the flag, I immediately knew what stamp set I wanted to use.  So I dug through my stash and pulled out the retired Eat Turkey set from the now closed Totally Stampalicious that I've never used (NBUS).   After stamping the main image in memento black, I pulled out the Eat Turkey saying and stamped it in the middle of the pigs sign.  I then colored everything using both prismacolor and copic markers before stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass and broken china distress inks over and around the top half of the image panel.  For the dirt, I stippled Adirondack caramel dye ink then layered and added some not quite navy brads.  My card was stamped using Stampin Up's retired Chicken Wire background in Tim Holtz faded jeans ink before sanding the card a tad to distress.  I then pulled out a cocoa scrap, dry embossed it using my Cuttlebug Pumpkin Harvest embossing folder and then also sanding it to distress.  Once my card was finished, I added the layered image panel using pop up glue dots.  I then added some fibers from my stash.  As an afterthought, I distressed the bottom panel of the layered image using my fingernail.

Creeping By

Hello and welcome  I will apologize ahead of time for any typo's since I'm trying to type and listen to Purple Rain at the same time.  Oh how I love listening to Prince. I so miss his music.

Today I would like to share a fairly simple Halloween card I made.  I started off by stamping the web in Tim Holtz weathered wood ink onto scrap white card stock before sponging the same ink around the edges and then layering onto some scrap gray card stock before adding some brads.  I then dry embossed a black panel using my cuttlebug spiderweb embossing folder and adhered it to a stamped orange card.  I then stamped the spiders in memento black before coloring using copic markers and cut out the candy corn to adhere using micro glue dots.  After using a silver glaze pen to the web, and black embossing glaze pen to the spiders and saying, I added some tiny googlie eyes to the spiders.  My final embellishments was a black bow using a small snippet of scrap ribbon.  Here's the inside of the card:

Just Buzzin By

Hello and welcome.  It's been a crazy week around here.  Whew!  Today I'd like to share a card I started last week, however thanks to health issues and family in from out of town, I didn't finish the card until last night.

All the images are stamped in memento black onto white card stock before layering and stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass and wild honey distress inks over and around the image.  After adding brads, I stamped the card in wild honey onto summer sun card stock, added my layered image, then cut out the beehive from a scrap of white to pop up using pop dots.  I then  went over all the image lines using a Sakura black embossing glaze pen, allowed it to dry, before adding ice stickles on the flowers and bee's wings.
