Halloween Spider Web

 

 

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a quick and easy Halloween card made using the Spiderweb digital stamp from Gerda Steiner Designs.  The image set comes with both a Halloween web AND a blank web so you can personalize the card - and it's a freebie!

 

After printing the image onto Neenah white card stock, I die cut a black spider using scraps and my Big Shot© before adhering it to a black card.  To finish it off, I added four black spider sequins instead of brads and a few black bling gems.  My card was finished in under 10 minutes so this is perfect for those mass produced Halloween cards.

Mermaids, Coffee, Graduation And Heat

 

Hello and welcome.  First let me just say this .... It's too freaking hot!!  My part of California is forecasted to be 105 today with humidity. Ugh!  I am struggling with my migraines, plus other health issues, and this heat is not helping at all.  Now that I've gotten that out, on to today's cards.  Fortunately, I didn't have to do too much coloring since, pain wise, I was at "it might feel better crying" again.  

First up is a card I made for my friend's sons graduation from high school today.  I wanted something book related, and I had this cool freebie image, from Conjurer of Dreams Facebook group already printed.  Once I had cut it down to size, and layered, I added some "faux brads" then set it aside for a moment.  I then dug through my stash of designer paper and found this cool printed page, so I grabbed that and added it to the card before stippling Tim Holtz walnut stain distress ink around the edges and a little over the designer paper too.  Once I had added my layered image, I decided to "age" the image a bit and stippled old paper distress ink on it.  The only embellishments are some kraft thread and a "pair" of wooden glasses that I stained before adding glossy accents to make it look like real lenses.

Next up, I had a fun card made with The Cat's Pajamas Big Cups digital set and Picket Fence Studios Down To The Last Cup background I received as a RAK from a friend.  Once I had combined the Sprinkle image, and saying, I printed it on Neenah white card stock before coloring using my copic markers before layering and adding brads.  I then stamped the background in espresso ink, stippled espresso ink around the edges before lightly stippling some old paper distress ink over the panel and the layered image panel.  The final touch was adding some Picket Fence coffee bean sequins (retired) using Bearly Art glue.

Finally, I have a mermaid inspired card using Crafter's Companion Swim Free (retired) stamp set.  I started out by blending Tim Holtz tumbled glass, broken china, stormy sky, faded jeans and chipped sapphire distress inks using my blending brushes.  I then stamped all of the images in memento tuxedo black ink using my MISTI before layering and adding faux brads.  The only embellishment added was some blue sequins from my stash.

Into The Woods With A Frog Prince

 

Hello and welcome.   Today I have another ATC (artist trading card) to share.  I'm still dealing with this migraine and I just couldn't physically, or mentally for that matter, concentrate enough to make a card.  My ATC is using Gecko Galz Gnomes At Home (retired) ATC set and the April 2024 newsletter freebie.

After printing both collage sheets on Neenah white card stock, I trimmed the background sheet before running a forest foliage marker along the edge to cover up the white before fussy cutting the frog prince.  Once I had glued him to the background, I added another layer for the bottom.  The only embellishments used was color spritzing some of the forest foliage marker and a few tiny jewel bling on the crown and in the trees.  I'm happy with how it turned out.

Run Up To Christmas Hop 2023 Week 2

 

 

Hello and welcome.  Today begins the second week of the #runuptochristmas2023 hop and this week we're being inspired to use stencils so I pulled out a couple of Picket Fence Studios stencils: Tree Trio (retired) and slimline Cloud Coverage along with my My Favorite Things snow mounds/hills (retired) stencil.

 

I started out by stenciling my trees using Tim Holtz pine needles distress ink using a blending brush from Picket Fence Studios. I then stippled the clouds using stormy sky and tumbled glass distress inks before stamping my saying using a long retired Stampin Up Wishes Awash set.  After layering and adding brads, I adhered the panel to a green card base before adding crystal ice stickles to finish my card off.  I'm really happy with how this turned out especially since it was quick and could easily be mass produced if needed.

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made for a friend undergoing cancer treatment.  I won this set from Impression Obsession a while back and finally got inspired to use it.  The set is called Hope and the images are just beautiful.

 

I started out by stamping the girl with head scarf image in memento tuxedo black ink onto some scrap Copic X-press It card stock twice (once to be able to pop up) then colored both images using Copic markers before fussy cutting the second one out setting it aside to pop up later.  I then lightly stippled some Tim Holtz milled lavender distress ink around it using blending brushes from blending brushes from Picket Fence Studios before layering and adding some purple button brads from my stash.  I then took two more images from the Hope set and stamped the card base using Tim Holtz dusty concord distress ink alternating the images.  After popping up the layered image panel using some pop dots, I added the image I had fussy cut popping it up using some pop dots as well.  The final embellishments are some "orchid pink" sequins I found in my stash (no idea how long I've had them) and some Crafty Meraki midnight shimmer illusion gems onto the head scarf.  Inside I stamped the following saying from the Hope set: "You're much stronger than you think".  I'm really happy with how this turned out especially since I made it with another migraine.

29 Again Mouse

Hello and welcome.  I'm excited to share with you my creations as a Guest Designer for Gerda Steiner Designs.  Today I'm on the blog sharing a card made using the new Cupcake Mice stamp set.  Now, I'm always looking for cute, or snarky, images for birthday cards and this set has both!  I'm in love!

I started out by dry embossing a turquoise card using my Big Shot and my Cuttlebug birthday words embossing folder before stippling Tim Holtz broken china distress ink over the raised images then setting aside.  My images/saying were then stamped onto Hammermill white card stock scraps before coloring using my Copic markers and a white gel pen for the cupcake frosting.  Once the coloring was finished, I lightly stippled leftover broken china distress ink around the edges of my mouse before layering and adding some black mini brads.  I then stamped the saying again onto another piece of scrap card stock then highlighted it with a Castle Arts black glitter gel pen before stippling more broken china ink, layering, adding more brads.  Once my saying was popped up on my image panel, I added some silver/white bakers twine along the edge of the card base.  The final touches were some Picket Fence Studios turquoise sequins on the cupcake and next to my main image.
