A Wanted Halloween

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a couple of cards I made for Halloween using images from Conjurer of Dreams.  I've had these cards finished for a few days, just not photographed or blogged due to my health.  

 

First up, is a cute little friendly robot card.  I started out by combining the following COD images using Photoshop©:  Cute Halloween Robots, You're Driving Me Batty, Halloween Quotes, Photo Corners, Black Silk, Aged Papers and a COD Inspiration Group freebie background from last year.  Once everything was combined and printed onto Neenah card stock, I added some faux brads before layering it on some black scrap card stock I had on my desk from a previous project.  After adhering to my card base, I added a black ribbon, some spider sequins and some bling to finish it off.

My second card uses one of the Halloween Mug Shots combined with the Halloween Photo Corners and the Wanted Poster.  After printing the witch image, I colored her using Ohuhu markers and a white gel pen before layering and adding brads.  The final touches were sequin spiders and some black bling.  I'm really happy with how both of these turned out.

A Frightfully Good Halloween

 

Hello and welcome.  Second post today so if you're looking for my puppies birthday card, please scroll down one.  Thank you.

 

I'd like to share with you a Halloween card, plus ATC, made using images from Conjurer of Dreams images. I liked how the card turned out so I made an ATC to go with it.  I originally started out by combining the following COD sets using Photoshop©: Victorian Graveyard, Victorian Dancing Ghosts, Edwardian Bride & Groom Ghosts, Funny Gravestones, You're Driving Me Batty clip art, Aged Papers and Halloween Photo Corners, plus my saying before printing onto Neenah white card stock.  Once I had everything printed out, I layered onto some navy/black card stock before distressing the edges, adding brads and setting aside.  I then stenciled a spiderweb background on my card base using Tim Holtz picket fence distress ink before adding my graveyard panel using some pop up glue dots.  The only embellishments added was some spider sequins for the corners, crinkle ribbon I found in my stash and tiny gemstones for stars.

For the accompanying ATC, I printed the same image (only smaller) then layered using the scraps from my card. Made a small bow using the scraps from my card, added the spider sequins and gems like before to finish it off.  I'm pretty happy with how these turned out.

For my card, I decided to go with the Anything Goes part of the theme and pulled out some avocado netting I saved from the trash. I paired it with some digital quirky mermaids from Conjurer of Dreams along with a free background from COD's Facebook group.  I held the netting on my card using pewter shell brads (to look like a fishing net) and added a few shells "caught in the net".  The saying is from a retired mermaid set from Picket Fence Studios.  When adding my saying to the card, I pinched the edges a bit to make it appear to be moving in the waves.  After adding some ice stickles, it was finished.  I'm really happy with how it turned out since I made it while dealing with this migraine that won't go away.

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a couple of cards made just because.  The last month has been really hard on me between losing my mom and a "sanfu" at my bank freezing our account.  Between both, my migraines, and nerves, have been overactive to the point of borderline nervous breakdown.  So, I decided to try assembling some fun cards I've had printed out for some time using Conjurer of Dreams images.

First up is a card using a background image that was part of a freebie set, with a purchase, a couple months ago along with the Frog Prince.  I started out by combining the background with the frog prince in Photoshop© before adding my own saying (even though he's a frog not a toad) to the combined image.  After printing it out on Neenah white card stock, I layered it, distressed the edges using my paper distresser and then added brads before adhering it to my card using pop dots.  Taking my drawer of scraps, I then punched several flowers and ferns before running the greenery through the paper crimper then adding a bit of mowed lawn to highlight them.  I then assembled my own floral sprays in the lower corners before adding a couple of additional flowers throughout the scene.  The final touches was gold ice stickles to the flower centers and crown tip before adding diamond ice stickles to the water and throughout the rest of the scene to give a "magical" appearance.

Next up is another fun one using the same background set from May, along with one of the freebies last month in the Conjurer of Dreams Facebook Inspiration group.  I just love these little mice and their ladybug car.  Aren't they the cutest?  I started out by combining the background, and mice, in Photoshop© before adding my own saying which is a quote from one of Robert Frost's poem The Road Not Taken.  I first read the poem in high school and the last line of the poem has stuck with me ever since then.  

Once I had the image panel printed, I layered it before distressing the edge of the final layer using my paper distresser.  I then added brads and adhered it to my card base using pop up glue dots. Taking my scrap pile and punches again, I once more made my own floral sprays before adding ice stickles to the center.  The final touch was a wooden ladybug sticker I've had for a while and not used.  In fact, the glue on the ladybug was dry so I had to add some glossy accents to make it adhere and diamond ice stickles to give the background more of a "magical" appearance.  I'm really happy with how both of these cards turned out.

Mele Kalikimaka (Merry Christmas)

 

Hello and welcome.  My late grandfather used to live in Honolulu and seeing the news about the Maui wildfires got me thinking of him again and all of the laughs, and fun, we used to have together.  Grandpa was a true gentleman....with a wicked sense of humor.  LOL  So, I pulled out a couple of beach/palm stamps I received from a friend when she had to downsize and hadn't used yet.  Grandpa, this card is in your memory.  I think I'll send this to my brother for Christmas.

I started out by stamping the palm trees from Stamp Yourself Silly (now closed) and the beach Santa from PSX in memento tuxedo black ink onto a Hammermill white panel before coloring them using my Lyra and Castle Arts pencils.  Once the coloring was finished, I pulled out my retired Close To My Heart Tropical Christmas stamp set and stamped the Mele Kalikimaka in memento black between the palm trees before stenciling the background clouds using my slimline cloud stencil from Picket Fence Studios and Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink.  After layering the image panel, I added some copper brads, waterfall ice stickles, and hand drawn "birds" using a black gel pen.  Santa's sunglasses are also highlighted with the neon blue gel pen.

Summer Collaberation Rainbow or Floral

 

 

Hello and welcome. It's week 2 of the #summeraspired2023 collaboration hop over on Instagram where we're given two prompts for the week and we choose which one to use or combine them.  For my card today, I pulled out a GinaK Designs stamp set called Vintage Rose Mini (now retired) I had won last year and just hadn't used yet.

 

I started out by stamping my image in Memento tuxedo black ink onto scrap Hammermill white card stock before stamping the saying right underneath.  I then pulled out my Castle Arts pencils to color the rose bouquet using rainbow colors since I needed a pet sympathy card. Once my coloring was finish, I then color spritzed a long retired Stampin Up Only Orange marker then layered.  My only embellishment used were some small black brads before adhering the layered panel onto a white card. On the inside I stamped a Scrapbook.com sympathy sentiment with a paw print from a retired Papertrey Ink pet sympathy set stamped underneath.

 

I'm really happy with how it turned out.  I've been dealing with some bad migraines again.

A Vintage Halloween

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a simple card I made using The Cat's Pajamas Vintage Halloween Digi Set (I have the clear set from their clearance sale so they could go digital) with We Are Three's Brick Wall digital paper.  

 

After printing the digital paper onto Hammermill white card stock, I stamped my images directly onto the brick wall panel before sponging some more mustard ink around the edges and into the center of the main image.  I then layered the panel and added some faux brads before adhering directly onto a mustard card base.  The final touch was adding some gold sequins from the stash I've had for years and rarely used.

Update on me, I'm still processing Stacy's death and all of my health issues especially the depression migraines, and anxiety right now.  Doctor has changed my anxiety meds to see if that helps, first night on the meds was last night, so hopefully that helps.  I'm still trying to color, and make cards, to try and focus on something else instead of grief and health issues.

A Cat In The Hat?

Or is the cat in a jack? Or is the Jack at cat?  Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a card made using one of Impression Obsession's Gary Robertson digital stamps called Cat in the Hat Jack.  I started coloring it a few days ago to try and get out of the funk I've been in even though I've been dealing with migraines. Fortunately, pain meds worked long enough to get it colored.

 

After printing the image at 3.5 x 5 to accommodate the migraine, I colored it using both Lyra and Castle Arts pencils before using a blender pencil on parts of the image.  Once the coloring was finished, I layered it then added some pumpkin orange brads.  My card uses a dusty Cuttlebug Pumpkin Harvest embossing folder run through a Big Shot before stippling some Stampin Up pumpkin pie ink over the raised images and around the edges using my Picket Fence blending brushes.  The final touches were highlighting various parts of the colored image using Sakura 3D glaze pens and adding some gold sequins I've had in my stash for years.

I Think You're Purrrr-fect

Hello and welcome.  Today is new release Tuesday over at the Bugaboo stamps blog Catch The Bug.  Today we are sharing with you I think you're purrr-fect and is available here.  I absolutely love this cute little kitty.  I mean who wouldn't love those eyes?

After printing the image, and saying, onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before inking the edges in memento tuxedo black and layering.  For my card base, I added to a white card some scrap designer paper I've had for years (don't even remember who made it) before edging the card in memento black.  I then popped up the layered image, added some faux brads and then a grey/black ribbon from my stash.  The final touches were a punched flower with a gold ice stickle center as well as gold ice stickles on the the crown.

Just Married

Hello and welcome.  Today is New Release day at Bugaboo Stamps blog Catch The Bug and we are releasing an adorable image called Just Married which you can find here.  For my card, I decided to go clean and simple while using up some scraps.

After printing the image off onto Hammermill white card stock and coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers, I layered it onto a scrap of cool caribbean card stock before adhering to a black card also from scraps.  I then lightly stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the edges of the image before adding some matching enamel dots.  The only other embellishment was a small blue gingham bow.
