Yay!! More Top 3's

I have made Top 3 at the following challenges:

650 Million Years

Hello and welcome.  Today is Humor Me Wednesday over at Catch The Bug.  Did you know September 30th is Ask A Stupid Question day?  For my card, I chose to use one of  Bugaboo's snarky images Stella Jellyfish. You can't go wrong with Stella.  Besides, I'm sure we all have run into one or two people this saying fits perfectly.

After printing my image off at 3.5x5 so I could make it into a one layer card, I colored the image using prismacolor and copic markers.  Once that was finished, I lightly rubbed some bashful blue chalk over the white areas using a cotton ball before lightly erasing areas over the saying. The only embellishments used were a white gel pen, 3D glaze pens and two epoxy star stickers.

This Cat Is Too Cute To Spook

Hello and welcome.  Today is New Release Tuesday over at Catch The Bug for Bugaboo Stamps, and this little kitty is just too cute to be scary.

I started off by printing my image onto Hammermill white card stock then colored using both prismacolor and copic markers before layering.   It was then I decided I should have colored the background and grass before the layering so I dusted off my Stampin Up chalks and grabbed a eye shadow applicator I had bought years ago from Target's $1 spot, added the color, then erased the colors that ended up on the layered card stock.  For my card, I pulled out a scrap of Basic Grey Ambrosia designer paper I had bought on clearance at Michael's several years ago and added that to a white card before sponging spiced marmalade distress ink around the edges.  I then made a dry embossed border using scrap card stock, a Tim Holtz burlap embossing folder and my big shot and added that to the card.  The layered image I then popped up over the border using pop up glue dots and added a black/gold ribbon.  After adding some gold enamel stars to the image, I added a black Prima flower with a bling center and then some Jolee's Halloween stickers to finish it off.

Chocolate Fantasy

Hello and welcome.  Today is Freebie Friday over at Bugaboo's blog Catch The Bug.  As soon as I started on my card, my husband saw the image and said the card had to go to his sister.

After printing my image onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before lightly stippling Tim Holtz milled lavender distress ink then layering.  For the card, I pulled out some scrap designer paper (sorry can't remember what company) and added that to a chocolate chip card stock before adding my layered image.  I then pulled out some Stampin Up ribbon I had forgotten about, tied it into a knot, then added a copper circle clip.  The only other embellishments added were copper brads, white silk flowers I've had for years and a copper pearl bling in the center of the flowers.

Let's Doodle!

Hello and welcome.   Today is Humor Me Wednesday at Catch The Bug and although my card today isn't humorous, it does reflect my hope for 2021 - Clean And Simple!  My hope for next year is a nice, neat, low stress year especially after everything 2020 has thrown at us!  My card was inspired, not only by the year, but did you know September 20th is Doodle Day?  I sure didn't.

After printing off my Ornamental Flowers 2 image (at 3.5x5 inches ) onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using copic markers before lightly stippling the left over tumbled glass ink around the colored image.  The only embellishments used were clear bling crystals and Sakura 3D black glaze pen to highlight the butterflies flight.  A nice clean and simple card great for any occasion.

Kiss My Furry Orange......

.....@%#!  Hello and welcome. Today is new release Tuesday at Catch The Bug for Bugaboo Stamps and we have a snarky little kitty for you today called Crabby Cat.  I LOVE this image!!!!!  Snarky and to the point. Perfect for the way 2020 has gone.

After printing the image off onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers.  I did go and highlight parts of the image using prismacolor pencils with a blender pencil before layering and adding some small black brads.  I then pulled out some scrap orange/black card stock, ran it through my big shot with a Tim Holtz cracked embossing folder, before lightly stippling spiced marmalade on the embossed border and then lightly around the image panel before adding it to an orange card with scrap Basic Grey designer paper.  I then stippled the spiced marmalade ink around the edges of the card before adding some black ribbon I received as a RAK before color spritzing some basic grey marker over the card and image panel.  The final embellishments were a prima flower with bling center and Sakura 3D glaze pens to highlight the saying and some added details to the kitty itself.

Thoughts And Prayers

Hello and welcome.  Today is a new Saturday weekly challenge at Catch The Bug and it's a Bingo challenge.  For my project, I went with Embossing, Bugaboo Image, Ribbon and used the Beautiful Blocks - Thoughts and Prayers.  I decided to keep my card somewhat clean and simple (CAS) since all of the California wildfire smoke exacerbated both my migraines and asthma/COPD.  One thing I've learned the last week, breathing and not being in pain are definitely under rated!

After printing out my image onto white card stock and coloring using both copic and prismacolor markers, I lightly stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass ink that was still on my brush from another project then layered.  I then added that to my card, which I kept the background clean, then added some enamel dots in place of brads and added a white ribbon bow.  For the embossing part, I pulled out my Souffle embossing pens and Sakura 3D embossing glaze pens and used those to highlight parts of the image.

Beware Of The Cat!

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a card I made using Impression Obsession's image Trick or Treat Birdhouse (G1646-DG).  My card today features the digital version of the image.  For those who don't like using digital images, you can get the rubber one here and it's also on sale right now.

I started out by printing my image onto Neenah white card stock and coloring using Prismacolor and Lyra pencils before blending using a blending pencil.  I then stippled some Tim Holtz stormy sky, chipped sapphire and wild honey distress inks over and around it to give a "blustery autumn rain storm" feel before layering.  I then pulled out some maple leaf brads I've had for years and never used before dry embossing a chocolate border then adding a chocolate ribbon.  After that I lightly sanded the border to distress it a bit and then sponged Tim Holtz spiced marmalade around the edges of the card before stippling brushed corduroy over the Basic Grey Ambrosia designer paper to also distress that before adding my layered image.  Behind the image I dusted off some silk maple leaves I've also had in my stash for years and rarely used.  I'm really happy with how this turned out since I've been dealing with increased migraines and breathing issues from asthma/COPD due to all the smoke from the wildfires burning around me.

Puppy Love

Hello and welcome.  Today is Bugaboo Stamps freebie Friday over at Catch The Bug.   Today's freebie is an adorable image called Kidz Pug. For my card, I started out by choosing my designer paper, Jillibean Soup Dutch Mustard I had received as a RAK and hadn't used yet then let that dictate the color scheme and layout.

After printing the image onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before lightly stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass ink for a soft sky then layered it and added some vintage brads.  I then added it to the card popping it up over the Dutch Mustard border before sponging some Stampin Up chocolate chip ink around the edges and added a matching ribbon.  I then die cut some hearts from scrap card stock and added those behind the popped up image.  The only other embellishments I added were some dusty dew drops, an olive heart clip and finally highlighted parts of the image with 3D glaze pens and a white gel pen.  I'm really happy with it since the colors put me out of my normal comfort zone.

Ain't No Sunshine

Hello and welcome.  Today is the new release over at Bugaboo Stamps and the design team has some awesome samples using No Sunshine for your inspiration over on Catch The Bug.  For my card, I pulled out some Target $1 spot umbrella designer paper I bought eons ago to pair with it.

After printing on to Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before lightly stippling Tim Holtz stormy sky, tumbled glass and broken china distress inks then layered.  Once my layering was finished, I added it to the card using dimensionals then added a blue ribbon from my stash.  I then went and added some sequins I bought from Michael's years ago, and have never used, before highlighting parts of the image using Sakura 3D glaze pens.

Awesome!!

Found out today I made the Honorable Mentions/Top 3 at Pammies Inky Pinkies for challenge number 2036 for this card from Bugaboo Stamps.

Blimey!

Hello and welcome.  I received this cute pirate stamp set as a thank you gift in a recent order from The Cat's Pajamas (so I have no idea name of this set) and I had some scrap card stock still on my desk from the Dare To Get Dirty challenges on Splitcoaststampers and decided to try turning all that into a card.

I started out by stamping my images/saying in memento tuxedo black ink onto scrap Hammermill white then coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers.  I then stippled Tim Holtz old paper, tumbled glass and chipped sapphire distress inks over and around to "age" the image panel a bit before layering onto scrap card stock.  For the card, I pulled out a scrap piece of kraft card stock then added some "old world map" scrap designer paper I had bought at Costco years ago. For embellishments, I added some thread, small punched navy flowers, ice stickles, faux sewing and a few hand drawn "birds".  I do apologize for the "sepia" colored pictures.  Unfortunately, due to all of the smoke from the wildfires we have here in California, this is the best I'm getting right now.

"BACON" Down On The Farm

Hello and welcome.  Today at Catch The Bug we are going down on the farm.  My project today is featuring Bugaboo's hilarious image BACON in the sun.  Right now, as I type this, my corner of California was 110 degrees yesterday, only 95 today (hey cool down!) and dealing with smoke from the massive Creek Fire 30 min away among others.  Now today, we'll be lucky to get out of the 80's (thank you Creek Fire) with VERY unhealthy air quality.  Talk about weather whiplash.  This image totally sums up the last few days at my house.

After printing the image off onto Hammermill white at 3.5x5 inches and coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers, I lightly stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass for the sky before stippling broken china around the edges.  Once the coloring was finished, I layered it onto scrap Stampin Up card stock then adding some brads.  I then stamped the card in dots using broken china ink before adding my layered image.  The only other embellishments were a velvet ribbon and Sakura 3D glaze pens highlighting parts of the image.  As an afterthought, I then stippled some broken china ink around the edges of the card.

Taking Door #2

Hello and welcome.  Today is Freebie Friday over at Catch The Bug.  This week the freebie is Crabby Cathy - Door 2.  Now isn't this image just perfect for 2020?

After printing off my image onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass and broken china around it.  Once layered, I added some brushed silver brads, orchid silk flowers I've had for years.  For my card, I've stamped a Stampin Up sanded background stamp in orchid opulence before sponging the same ink around it and adding some silver cord ribbon.  My final embellishment is a punched file folder (I've had for years and also never used) stamped with the Itty Bitty Backgrounds in warm sunshine ink and then sponged the leftover orchid opulence on it then popped up using Recollections pop dots.

Happy Now?

Hello and welcome.  Today is Humor Me Wednesday over at the Bugaboo Stamps blog Catch The Bug.  Did you know that September 7th is not only Labor Day here in the United States, but it's also "Neither Snow nor Rain" Day.  So I decided to make that my inspiration and go a bit snarky with Stella - Happy Now.  You cannot go wrong with Stella!

I printed my image at 3.5x5 since I've been dealing with a migraine so it would be easier to color using both my prismacolor and copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I stippled some Tim Holtz broken china distress ink around the edges before layering over a dry embossed border.  After dusting off some blue fibers I've had for like forever, I added some equally dusty silver snowflakes sequins and then ice stickles to the image to finish it off.

After printing the image, and saying, onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before inking the edges in memento tuxedo black and layering.  For my card base, I added to a white card some scrap designer paper I've had for years (don't even remember who made it) before edging the card in memento black.  I then popped up the layered image, added some faux brads and then a grey/black ribbon from my stash.  The final touches were a punched flower with a gold ice stickle center as well as gold ice stickles on the the crown.

Unicorns And Boobs

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I had originally started making for the Dare To Get Dirty challenges before being sidelined with a migraine.  I've finally gotten a chance to finish it.  The image I chose is Bugaboo's snarky Unicorns Are More Real image.  Now this is an image really good friends would send to each other in fun; or a family member with a great sense of humor.

After printing off the image onto Hammermill white card stock and coloring using copic markers and layering, I added it to a plain cameo coral card.  I then added some enamel dots in place of brads, a white silk flower I bought at Michaels years ago, white ribbon and finally some heart enamel dots.  As an after thought, I then color spritzed some cameo coral and green galore markers over the image and the entire card including the embellishments.  Considering I still have the migraine, I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Clean And Simple Hello

Hello and welcome.  Today's Bugaboo theme challenge over at Catch The Bug is Anything Goes.  For my project today, I chose to go with a clean and simple card featuring an older Bugaboo image, although new to me, called Ladybug Hello.  I really like how this image looks with the neat handwriting off to the side.

My image is printed onto Hammermill white card stock then colored using prismacolor and copic markers.  I decided to stipple what tumbled glass ink remained on the brush to help give a bit of color for the sky before outlining the writing using a black 3D glaze pen.

Back To School Smile

Hello and welcome.  Today's Freebie Friday over  at the Bugaboo Stamps blog Catch The Bug, and we are featuring an image called Ruler Boy.

After printing my image off onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before lightly stippling some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around it then layering. I then dusted off some Tim Holtz ruler ribbon and added that to a red card before popping up the layered image using dimensionals.  I then lightly spritzed the ink from a brilliant blue marker over the layered image before stamping my smile saying from a long retired Stampin Up set.  The only embellishments added were silver brads and a red felt apple I had bought from the Target dollar spot years ago and never used.

It's A Halloween Pumpkin Patch

Hello and welcome.  Second post from me today.  For my stained glass sunflower, please scroll down one.

I'm sharing one of the cards I made for Splitcoaststampers Dare To Get Dirty challenges.  It's a week full of online challenges hosted by the Dirty Girls for SCS fan club members once a year.  You can do as many, or as few, as you like or physically can.  You just have to be a fan club member.

My project is a slimline card and is made using a long retired, and dusty, Stampin Up set called Carved and Candlelight.  I stamped the images onto Hammermill white card stock then masked the pumpkins before stippling basic gray, pumpkin pie, garden green and Tim Holtz chipped sapphire, stormy sky, and dusty concord before layering and adding silver brads.  I then stamped two more pumpkins, fussy cut them out and popped up on dimensionals.  Taking some pumpkin pie and garden green scraps, I punched several different flowers, added using glue dots and then highlighted using silver ice stickles.  The final touches was a silver moon brad and some hand drawn "bats" using Souffle 3D pens.

Sunflower Grace

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you an oldie but goodie from the Bugaboo store that I hadn't used yet, called Sunflower Stained Glass Block.

After printing the image onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before layering and adding brushed copper brads.  I then added it to a dry embossed card, with a dry embossed border, using Tim Holtz sun ray and cracked embossing folders I had dusted off.  I then sponged summer sun dye ink around the edges of the card, before lightly sponging the ink over the embossed image.  I did the same thing to the dry embossed border only using cocoa ink.  I then popped up the layered image over the border before stamping the saying, from a long retired Stampin Up set,  in memento black ink over the dry embossed card.  For embellishments, I added a satin cocoa ribbon, sunflower dew drops and a wooden bee I received as a RAK but also hadn't used yet.  As a final touch, I traced the stained glass image with Sakura 3D glaze pens to add to the dimension.

Just Married

Hello and welcome.  Today is New Release day at Bugaboo Stamps blog Catch The Bug and we are releasing an adorable image called Just Married which you can find here.  For my card, I decided to go clean and simple while using up some scraps.

After printing the image off onto Hammermill white card stock and coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers, I layered it onto a scrap of cool caribbean card stock before adhering to a black card also from scraps.  I then lightly stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the edges of the image before adding some matching enamel dots.  The only other embellishment was a small blue gingham bow.
