Hello and welcome. Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by Polkadoodles. I would like to thank them for their sponsorship and for providing images for the DT to use. Since today is the 5th Monday, we're having a theme challenge this week which is CAS (clean and simple). Now the definition of CAS is as follows:
CAS
1. One main image.
2. Lots of open space, uncluttered.
3. Limited layers and embellishments.
4. Quick & easy to recreate. (note: it may take awhile to create a design you
like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake. :-)
5. Basically...This means that you must create a project with very few
embellishments (I know it's hard), clean lines and lots of "white" space.
White space just means an area of your card with nothing on it all. It doesn't
have to be white. It could be brown, pink, or red. Any color as long as
there is lots of SPACE.
My card this week uses the Polkadoodles Winnie Daisy Butterfly Tree Fairy image. After printing the image onto Neenah white cardstock, I colored it using both Lyra and Castle Arts pencils before lightly stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink to help fill in the "sky" before layering and adding brads. The card base is dry embossed using a Darice Butterfly Swirl embossing folder that I haven't used in a long while and my big shot.
Challenges entered:
Triple B Jan 2024 - Anything Goes Birds, Blooms, Butterflies (inspired by pink/white, have butterflies and blooms)
