PIP Challenge #2228

 Sponsored by

Hello and welcome.  Today starts a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we are being sponsored by Jan's Digital Stamps.  I would like to take a moment and thank them for sponsoring this week's challenge plus providing the images used by the design team this week.  My card is using the image and one of the sayings from their Best Wishes set.

After combining my image/saying in a watermark program, I printed it out onto Hammermill white card stock before coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once my coloring was finished, I fussy gut the image out before layering it and adding brads.  I then took an old Stampin Up stitching/distressing tool and ran it along the edges making sure to allow the tool to "drift" a bit.  I was hoping the "drift" would give a bit of whimsy to my layered panel.  For my card base, I took my Cuttlebug Swirls and Birds embossing folder and dry embossed a granny apple green card using the big shot machine before stippling matching ink over the embossed images.  After adhering my layered panel, I added some heart enamel dots to the bottom of my card.  The final embellishments was highlighting parts of the colored image using a Sakura 3D clear glaze pen and a yellow Souffle enamel pen.

  5. A perfectly lovely card, I love green and purple together. Your little hearts are a sweet touch, too. How wonderful to see someone else using those old stitiching tools (I have the WRMK wheels). I pretty much refuse to buy the stitched cover plates if I can decently replicate the or a look with old-skool tools, that's my thoughts on it. Your execution is delightfully whimsical, indeed. Hope you are managing to stay cool, we are doing well with it today. XXO
