PIP 2108

 Challenge 2108 - Team A

sponsored by Lawn Fawn

Hello and welcome.  It's time for another challenge over at Pammies Inky Pinkies.  This week we are being sponsored by Lawn Fawn.  I would like to thank Lawn Fawn for their sponsorship.

I started out by stamping the Winter Bunny (which might be retired since I can't find it in their store currently) in memento tuxedo black ink twice onto scrap white card stock then colored using Copic markers.  Once my coloring was finished, I die cut it using the matching die, then set it aside.  I then took some scrap Close to Cocoa card stock, and several different colors of scrap green card stock, then die cut them using my dusty Sizzix mountain and tree dies, again using my Big Shot.  Once I was finished die cutting everything, I took some acrylic white paint and painted the snowy peaks and trees before setting them aside to dry.  After the paint was dry, I decided I wasn't happy with how the trees turned out, so I flipped them over and re-painted the tree, however, I also dug out an old toothbrush and "splattered" white paint onto the trees.  I was really happy with how the trees turned out this time.  Digging through my scrap designer paper stash, I found this snowflake one I've had for who knows how long and added it to my card base.  I then took several strips of scrap white card stock, and tore them to size creating my own " snowy hills" before blending some Stampin Up bashful blue and going grey dye inks using my Picket Fence Blender Brushes.  Once the blending was done, I took a wire curler I've had for years and slightly "curled" the torn borders to give them more "depth".  Now I was ready to assemble my card. I added the scrap snowflake designer paper and mountains first, allowing some parts of the mountains to go over the card edges.  I would trim these off later.  Next up, I added my "snowy hills", adhering them by adding adhesive only to the right/left sides and bottoms of the torn strips.  Taking my trees, I adhered those using mono adhesive, dimensionals and pop dots for added effects.  My sledding bunny was then added them on top of each other, popping them up, using dimensionals for depth.  The only other embellishments were crystal ice stickles and a few Picket Fence Gin and Tonic snowflake sequins.   I love how this card finally turned out, especially since the whole thing (except the card base) was made using scrap card stock and designer paper.

  4. Wonderful scene! You did the dimension so well. I do believe this stamp is discontinued as I have the stamp and die as well. There are just a few UK online shops with one or two of either the stamp or the die left in stock - it's a beauty and you worked it so well Bonnie! Great use of snippets too!

    Hugs
