A Bouqet Of Sunshine For Ukraine

 Hello and welcome.  I'm trying to color as much as possible to keep my mind occupied while recovering from COVID and dealing with my migraine issues.  Coloring helps keep me calm, and help the anxiety I'm feeling over the invasion of Ukraine.  How many more innocent people have to die before world leaders get off their butts and help the Ukrainians??

 

My card today is using the Bring Home Some Sunflowers digital image from Power Poppy.  In fact, ALL of their sunflower images are free to download right now.  Let's fill the internet with sunflowers to show our support to the people of Ukraine!!  Power Poppy also has a couple of sunflower downloads that are fundraisers for Sunflower Of Peace.  Here the info from their website: All profit from the sale of this downloadable, print-at-home, outline illustration will be donated to Sunflower of Peace, a non-profit organization committed to helping Ukrainians affected by the Russian military invasion with medical and humanitarian aid. You can purchase the fundraiser images here along with access to the free downloads.

After combing the image with one of the set's sayings using a watermark program, I colored it using Castle Arts pencils before lightly stippling some Tim Holtz broken china distress ink around it.  Once that was finished, I layered the image and added brads before adhering it to the card.  The "sunshine" in the saying is colored using a Castle Art gel pen.

Rockin' 'Round The Christmas Tree

 Hello and welcome.  I'm playing along with the Splitcoaststampers Fan Club Christmas Challenge.  This month we're being inspired by the Christmas movie How The Grinch Stole Christmas.  I took my inspiration from all of the Christmas trees the Grinch stole and brought back to Whoville and figured my new Rockin' Christmas Tree set from Whimsy Stamps would be perfect.  Now the Fan Club challenges are for members only and you can check out all of the Fan Club benefits here.  

I started out by stamping my images in memento tuxedo black ink onto some scrap Neenah white card stock before coloring using Castle Arts pencils.  I then stamped and colored the presents before fussy cutting them out and adding using dimensionals.  I then stippled some shaded spruce ink around the edges using my blending brushes from Picket Fence Studio.  I then layered it before adding green brads and adhered the layered images using glue dots.  The final embellishments were green twine I received as a RAK, Sakura 3D Glaze Pens and ice stickles.

A Couple Of Clean And Simple Birthdays

Since getting COVID added wtih my chronic migraines, I have been feeling like garbage.  So, I decided to make a couple of clean and simple birthday cards using an old Inkadindadoo clear stamp set I've had for years and never used.  That way I could, at least, try focusing on something other than my health.

First card up is a one layer card.  I started out by stamping the lizard image/saying in memento tuxedo black ink onto a small scrap of white card stock before coloring with Castle Arts pencils.  I then stamped the inside saying after carefully cutting it in half so it would fit.  I then stamped the lizard again coloring with colored pencils.

My second card also uses scrap card stock with an Inkadinkadoo image stamped onto scrap white, colored using Castle Arts pencils as well.  After layering the stamped image onto a black scrap, I added brads as the only embellishment.

Warm Wishes To Ukraine

 Hello and welcome.  Like many, I have been transfixed and horrified by the invasion of Ukraine and deliberate attacks on civilians.  I have also admired the resolute way the Ukrainians are standing up and fighting for their country and freedoms.  One thing for sure, I will NEVER take for granted the freedoms I have living in the United States.  I also wish the leaders for the rest of the world would get off their butts and help defend Ukraine even if it means sending my nephew into a war zone.  I have donated what I can afford so about the only way I can support the Ukrainians now is through card making and the #cardsforukraine galleries.  With that in mind, today's card features the free Warm Hugs Sunflower from Power Poppy.  In fact, all of Power Poppy's sunflowers (the national flower of Ukraine) are free to download.  You can find all of them here.

After I printed off my image onto Hammermill white card stock, I then colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before stippling Tim Holtz Broken China distress ink around it.  Once that was finished, I layered the colored image before adding blue brads and adhering to a pacific pointe card.  I'm really happy with how it  turned out since I'm still dealing with COVID and migraines.

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  This week we are being sponsored by Jan's Digital Stamps and I would like to thank them for the images used by the design team this week.  For my card, I am using the Early Spring Nest set.  

After combining the image and saying, I printed it on to Neenah white card stock then colored using koh-i-noor pencils before stippling some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink using my Picket Fence Studios blending brushes.  Once I had the colored image layered, I added some white brads before adhering to my card.  My final touches include some K and Co flower sequins, I've had for years and years, crystal ice stickles for the sequin centers and then faux sewing using a black artist pen.
