Dia de los Muertos

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card inspired by my mom (step-mom) who recently passed away.  For some reason, this card was hard for me to make.  I'm not sure why.  It wouldn't happen to be the stress, COVID or migraines? *roll eyes* My card is made using the Day of the Dead and Spookytown 2 sets from Conjurer of Dreams.

After combining the images in Photoshop©, I printed it out onto Neenah white card stock before layering, distressing, then inking, the edges and adding black brads. I then added it to my card using pop up glue dots before adding ribbon from my stash.  Taking some matching card stock scraps and my MS punches, I punched out several ferns & small flowers before running those through my paper crimper.  Once that was finished, I added them to the card using glossy accents before adding a couple of resin flowers I found in my stash.  The final touch was adding a touch of black stickles.

Challenges entered:

Never Before Used Schtuff (NBUS) #67 - Use Your NBUS (images, background, resin flowers)
CD Sunday Plus #144 - Anything Goes Digital (Conjurer of Dreams images/background)

PIP Challenge 2442

Sponsored by SheepSki Designs

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by Sheepski Designs.  I would like to thank them for their sponsorship and for providing images for the design team to use.  My card this week uses the Retro Rocket digital stamps since I don't have many cards that are good for any age.

I started out by printing the combined image on Neenah white card stock before coloring using my copic markers and blending black ink to form space.  Once that was finished, I layered it and added some tiny black brads before adhering to my card base (deliberately at an angle) using glue dots.  Taking some Stampendous silver star stickers that I've had for years, I added those to the image panel before adding ice stickles and glossy accents to highlight parts of the image.  The final embellishment was adding some silver dew drops from my stash.  I'm very happy with how this turned out.

Well Hello Fall

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made using the Autumn Witch and Spooky Mansion images from Conjurer of Dreams.  As I type this, Fall appears to finally have arrived here in Central California otherwise we've been still dealing with the triple digit heat.  Ugh!

I started out by combining the images in Photoshop© before adding the saying then printing on to Neenah white card stock.  The finished image sat for a while until it was cool enough to assemble.  Plus, with the way I've been feeling between the migraines and COVID, I just plain didn't have the energy.  Once I had the image layered, I added some black brads before popping it up onto a grey card base using pop dots.  Digging through my stash of ribbon, I pulled out an orange/yellow organdy ribbon, tied it around the edge of the card before adding a key charm that I've had in my stash for decades.  The final touch was adding a few small orange/yellow gems from my stash to finish it off.

My Age?

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a couple of cards made for my sisters-in-law as thank you cards for my birthday presents using the anniversary freebie from the Conjurer of Dreams blog combined with the Snarky Quotes 1 from the COD Etsy store.  I just LOVE the look on "granny's" face like she's saying "Really, you had to ask?" and I think this quote fits her perfectly.

After combining the sets in Photoshop©, I printed her out on Neenah white card stock before layering, adding brads and distressing the edges using a paper distresser.  After tying some bakers twine around the edge of the cards, I added my layered image panels using pop up glue dots.  The final touch was adding some forgotten bling I found in my stash.  I'm pretty happy with how these turned out especially since I had to push through a migraine and COVID (again) to make them.

Here's the second card using the same layout.

A Victorian Gothic Family

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a card that I've had printed out for some time, just never assembled before now.   Between my mom's passing, husband's health, my migraines/health issues and now COVID (again), I have a lot of unfinished projects on my desk.

I had started out by combining images from the Conjurer of Dreams Victorian Madame and Abandoned Gothic Castle Room before printing the combined image onto Neenah white cardstock.  I then layered it and added some black brads before adding the Family brad.  The final embellishment was adding some small black Crafty Meraki black bling using my Bearly Art glue.  I'm really happy with how this finally turned out.  Especially how awful I'm feeling right now.

PIP Challenge 2440

Our Sponsor is

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by Patties Creations.  I would like to thank them for their sponsorship and for providing images for the design team to use.  My card this week is using Pattie's Big Beautiful Bathing Beauties.  I kept the card pretty clean and simple because I wanted the emphasis to be on loving oneself.  Lately, it seems like society is trying to make everyone look the same.  All of our bodies are different.  Our health is different and some people have chronic conditions that make it hard to exercise at a gym, let alone have the extra money for it.  Ok, off my soap box.

I started out by combining the image with my own saying in a watermark program, then printing the combined image on Neenah white card stock.  After trimming down to the size I wanted, I colored it using both Lyra and Castle Arts colored pencils and a blender pencil.  Once the coloring was finished, I blended Tim Holtz tumbled glass, broken china, tea dye and brushed corduroy distress inks using my blending brushes.  The only embellishment added was waterfall ice stickles to highlight where the "ocean" would be.

Witch Wisdom October 2024 Challenge

Hello and welcome.  First, Happy World Card-making Day!!!!  Second, today is my day to share inspiration for the Conjurer of Dreams October challenge.  Speaking of which, the first Conjurer of Dreams challenge has begun here on the blog.  This month's challenge is an Anything Goes or all about witches - good, bad, ugly, etc.  You know the drill.  Now, I'm normally not a witch person but I did manage to come up with some not-so-spooky projects using witches. So without further ado, I present my inspiration projects and any challenges entered.
