Falling For Wednesdays Week 3

Hello and welcome to week 3 of Falling For Wednesdays hosted by @kellysantidesigns 🍂🍁 Hop along with #ffwcardgroup2023 where each week holds beautiful fall splendor. This week’s fall theme is: LEAF PEEPING!  Leaf peeping is defined as driving/taking a tour to see all of the fall colors.  When I'm physically able to do this, I love seeing all of the fall leaf colors not far from here in Yosemite National Park.

My card this week is featuring a few retired Stampin Up sets using a technique created by Kittie Caracciolo.  It's called watercolor landscaping and she created a tutorial for it that's uploaded to Splitcoaststampers.  It's an amazing technique and is really easy to do.

I started out by stamping the background trees (Lovely As A Tree) in PTI dark chocolate ink on white card stock before taking the fern from the Watercolor Minis set and inked it in various Stampin Up dye inks to create my tree leaves and the leaves on the ground.  I then stamped the truck from (Loads of Love) and car/plane from (Travel Time) in memento tuxedo black ink on scratch card stock before coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers.  After fussy cutting all of them out, I set them aside to stencil the cloud background using Picket Fence Studios slimline cloud stencil and Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink and a blending brush from Picket Fence Studios.  Taking the Watercolor Mini fern again, I stamped the road using memento tuxedo black ink and then blended in a bit of PTI dark chocolate using a blending brush.  Once that was finished, I adhered both cars and the truck using glue dots before adding another truck using pop dots for added dimension.  The final touch was adding some "birds" to the background using a black gel pen.
