Dashing Through The Snow

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made using a retired Stampabilities stamp, Santa Cruising, for a few challenges.  I've been wanting to use this stamp for some time after getting it at Michael's a few months ago on clearance and apparently Santa needed a faster ride this year.

After stamping my image in memento black onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using Castle Art pencils before stippling my background using a Picket Fence Studio Slimline Cloud Stencil with their blending brushes.  Once all of the stippling was finished, I took a black artist pen and added some faux sewing "stitches" before layering and adding brads.  I then added some ice stickles before adding a red bow and writing SANTA onto the license plate as an afterthought.

Joy To The World

Hello and welcome.  I'm playing along with a few challenges this Christmas week, so I thought I would bust out a retired clear set I've never used (NBUS) from The Cat's Pajamas called Joy To The World.

Onefer

For my first project, I stamped the singing penguins, and musical notes, in memento tuxedo black ink and then colored using prismacolor and copic markers before highlighting one of the hats with a white 3D glaze pen.  I then stamped the saying also in memento black before highlighting using glitter gel pens.  I then took a Picket Fence Studio Slimline Cloud Stencil and added the background clouds using Picket Fence Blending Brushes and Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink.  After layering, and adding brads, I added the panel to a card made pacific pointe card stock and scrap gingham designer paper.  I then took a black artist pen and added the faux sewing, snow using a white 3D glaze pen, and some Gin and Tonic sequins using Ranger Glossy Accents.  The final touches were waterfall ice stickles (for snow/ice) and white/silver ribbon.

Since I had the Joy set still sitting out on my desk, I decided to stamp the penguins, and musical notes, onto some scrap white Neenah card stock then colored using the same prismacolor/copic markers.  I then dusted off my snowflake corner punch and punched the top corners before creating my clouds background using the Picket Fence Slimline Cloud Stencil and blending brushes along with Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink to create my cloud background.  I then stippled broken china around the edges before layering then punching that with my Stampin Up scalloped tag punch.  After adding some "snowflakes" using a white 3D glaze pen, I added the punched snowflake bits (after stippling broken china on them) by adhering using Ranger glossy accents.  The final touches were waterfall ice stickles for the "ice" and ribbon to finish my tag off.

I'm please with how both of these turned out especially since I'm dealing with another migraine and it was either cry or try and focus on something else.  Also, my lung issues are flaring back up again I'm afraid.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a a great day and a safe Merry Christmas!

PIP 2150

  Challenge 2150 - Team A, Dec. 13

Hello and welcome.  It's time for a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we are sponsored by Gerda Steiner Designs and I would like to thank them for providing the images used by the design team.
I don't know about you but the last six weeks, for me, have been crazy.  Between health issues, and now the car breaking down completely, I don't know whether I'm coming or going.  Know what I mean?

For my card I decided to go with a clean and simple design.  After printing the cute Owl With Letter image onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using Castle Art pencils before stippling Tim Holtz stormy sky and brushed corduroy around the edges.  As an afterthought, I also added some stippled Adirondack caramel ink around the bottom edges before layering.  The only embellishments then added were some brads, googlie eyes and red gel pen on the letter.

Bearing Gifts

Hello and welcome.  I've been still dealing with health issues, but managed to get this card made using one of my favorite Christmas stamps.  I must have bought this stamp at least a decade ago.  It's a Stampendous stamp and I'm not sure they make it anymore.  The image/saying are perfect together and reminds me so much of my own cats.

After stamping my image panel in memento tuxedo black, I colored everything using Castle Art pencils before stippling Tim Holtz brushed corduroy and Adirondack caramel inks around the panel they layered.  I then edged the panel using a memento black "cat eye" ink pad before layering. Now since I didn't have matching brads, at least I none I could find, I dusted off some Stampendous Class-A-Peel jewel stickers.  My card base is dry embossed using a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder with my big shot before sanding the raised snowflakes to make them stand out better on the black card.  A gold cord and ice stickles finish off the card.  I'm really happy with how this turned out since I used non-traditional Christmas colors.

Dear Santa Always Jingle

Hello and welcome.  Today I'm playing along with a few challenges over at Splitcoaststampers, among others, using a couple of my snarky Christmas stamps from Impression Obsession.

For my first card, I stamped the penguin from  Warm Wishes and colored using prismacolor markers before stippling Tim Holtz fired brick ink around the edges.  The Jingler saying is then stamped also in memento tuxedo black.  After layering, and adding brads, I took a black artist pen and added the faux sewing.  Taking my card, I then dry embossed it using a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder and stippled more ink around the edges.  I then took some scrap card stock and die cut my never before used (NBUS) Santa hat before stippling leftover ink around the edges and adding using glue dots.  The small pom on the end is added using micro pop dots.  The finishing touches were a small bow, white gel pen to the eyes and some diamond ice stickles.

My second card today also uses the Warm Wishes penguin.  This time I paired him with some scrap gingham blue designer paper and the Dear Santa saying also from Impression Obsession.  After my stamping and coloring were finished, I stippled some Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink around the edges before layering and adding some small button brads.  The layered image panel was then added to my card with with the gingham paper.  My final embellishments were a white gel pen to highlight the eyes, white/silver ribbon and some gin and tonic sequins.

The prize will be a $10 Gift Certificate from
Sweet 'n Sassy

Hello and welcome.  It's time for a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  This week we are being sponsored by Pammie's Inky Pinkies with the prize being a $10 gift certificate from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  Since this is the 5th Monday of the month, it is time for a theme challenge and this week we are going with animals (except birds or fish).  Now I know we all have quite a few animal stamps in our collections, so let's dust those off and get inky.

For my card I dusted of a long retired Stampin Up set, called Wolf, and stamped my card repeatedly in basic gray ink to create the background.  My main image was stamped using Colorbox charcoal chalk ink onto a vanilla panel.  I really like using my chalk inks on solid stamps since, I feel, I get better ink coverage.  After stippling some going gray ink around the edges, then layering, I added some black brads before adding it to my card.  My saying is from a retired MFP Stamp Shop (now closed) set was stamped in going grey twice onto vanilla scraps before punching both out.  After adding to a punched black oval scrap, I popped up the second saying oval for some added dimension.

Heartfelt Thanks, Before/After Turkey

Hello and welcome.  Today I'm playing along with a couple of challenges over at Splitcoaststampers among others.  My first card uses both some old and a new stamp (NBUS) sets.  I started out by stamping the lighthouse scene and boats (Mark's Finest Papers now closed) in memento tuxedo black ink and colored using prismacolor watercolor pencils with a blender marker.  I then used a Picket Fence Studios slimline cloud stencil, along with their blending brushes to create the background clouds.  After stamping the saying from a Hero Arts set I received as a gift, I was ready to assemble the card adhering it using some faux brads.  The final touches were waterfall ice stickles and a Sakura 3D glaze pen for the birds.

My second card uses an old, old, old Hanna Stamps (now closed) Thanksgiving set I've had for years and never used.  Why? I have no idea. For this one, I decided to go with a bit of snarky humor.  After stamping the turkey (live and cooked) in memento black, I colored them with Castle Art pencils before stippling some more mustard around the colored panel.  Once that was finished, and layered, I added some brads and faux sewing before laying aside to work on my card.  The card base has three different Thanksgiving images stamped in more mustard to make the background.  After adding my layered panel, I color spritzed a SU close to cocoa marker over the entire card before adding some tan fibers and googlie eyes to finish it off.

PIP 2146 - May God Bless You...

 Challenge 2146 - Team A

Sponsored by Polkadoodles

Hello and welcome.  It's time for a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  This week we are sponsored by Polkadoodles. I would like to thank Polkadoodles for sponsoring this week's challenge and for providing the design team the images used this week.  I am late posting my project since I'm dealing with some health issues still right now.
I started out by printing the Snowmen Frosty Hugs Too Cute on Neenah white card stock then colored it using Castle Art Pencils before stippling Tim Holtz milled lavender and tumbled glass distress inks using Picket Fence Studios Blending Brushes.  Once all of my coloring was finished, I layered it onto scrap card stock and then added some silver/pearl heart brads

For my card base, I started out by stamping my saying from the retired Stampin Up Special Blessing so I could turn my project into a wedding card for a friend.  After stamping the saying, I dry embossed it using my big shot and a cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder before stippling more milled lavender distress ink over the embossed images.  Taking another scrap, I punched two snowflakes, stippled more milled lavender distress ink onto them, then added to the layered image under my heart brads.  The final touch was adding some diamond ice stickles as "falling snowflakes".

The Early Bird

Hello and welcome. First, I'd like to apologize for not posting in a while.  I've been dealing with some health issues on top of my migraines.

Today I'd like to share a card I made using an old Garfield stamp (Rubber Stampede) and this hilarious saying from Art Impressions and a long retired Stampin Up set Espress Yourself.

I started out by stamping Garfield and my saying onto some scrap white card stock in memento tuxedo black ink before coloring Castle Art pencils using the Art Nudge #4 to guide my color combo.  Once my coloring was finished, I lightly stippled some dusty durango ink around the image panel using my Picket Fence Studio Blending Brushes before layering and adding some brads.  I then took a black artist pen and added some faux sewing around the edges.  The card is stamped using the coffee cup border from Espress Yourself in dusty durango ink.  I then stamped the coffee beans also in dusty durango ink and layered onto a gray card stock scrap before adding my layered image panel popping it up using dimensionals.  I then finished the card off using some copper cord from my stash.

Hello and welcome.  It's time for new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  This week we are sponsored by  Newton's Nook Stamps and I would like to thank them for sponsoring this week's challenge.  My card this week features the adorable All Aboard For Christmas and the matching dies found here

After dealing with mine and my husband's health issues, I'm finally getting some stamping done again even if it's really slow going.  Since I work on Christmas cards year round, I have been itching to get this set out and see what I could do with it (NBUS).

I started out by stamping the engine and cars onto a scrap piece of slimline card stock before stamping all of my animals and train gears onto scrap white card stock then colored everything using Castle Art pencils.  Once all of my coloring was finished, I added the clouds using a slimline stencil and Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink and the ground using Tim Holtz mowed lawn, brushed corduroy, and tea stain distress inks before lightly adding some picket fence distress ink as "early snowfall".  A black artist pen created the "train track".  I then die cut all of the animals and gears using my big shot before adding them to the card using pop dots and dimensionals.  After layering the main image panel onto scrap slimline card stock, I added the final touches of snowflake sequins and a recycled red ribbon.  A Sakura 3D glaze pen highlights parts of all the images.  I'm really happy with how it turned out since I'm still feeling a bit crummy.

Scattering Seeds of Kindness

Hello and welcome.  Sorry it's been a bit since I've posted.  I've been dealing with my husbands health issues on top of my own health problems.  Still feeling crummy but I managed to get this card done that I started two weeks ago.  Right now it's slow going with me completing any task.

I dusted off this old Stampin Up set called Seeds of Kindness and paired it with Art Nudge #25 plus this week's Inspiration Station #15 to create a bit of a fall feel using a summer set since we're still getting dandelions here in California.  I stamped the main images using Tim Holtz scattered straw, forest moss, spiced marmalade and old paper distress inks making sure to stamp off the images to help fill in the background.  The saying was stamped in memento tuxedo black before layering and adding some black brads.  I then added the panel to a so saffron card before stippling scattered straw around the edges.  As an afterthought, I grabbed a black artist pen and added the faux sewing.  I'm very happy with how this turned out.  You can catch all of the Art Nudges here.

It's Been A While

Hello and welcome.  I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while.  I've been dealing with some health issues of my own, not to mention sending my hubby to the ER a few weeks back.  Right now between both of us, I feel like I'm drowning, so it might be a bit before posting again.  Thank you for understanding.

Hello and welcome.  Today starts another challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  This week we are sponsored by Jan's Digital Stamps and I would like to thank them for providing the images used by the design team.  Today I am featuring the Signs of Autumn (NBUS) digital set .

I started out by combining the jar of leaves with the saying in MS Word before printing it out and coloring using Castle Art pencils.  Once my coloring was finished, I stippled some Stampin Up really rust ink and Tim Holtz scattered straw inks around the over the white spaces and the edges.  After layering and adding brads, I added the image panel to the card over a dry embossed center border strip using dimensionals.  I then doodled some faux sewing "stitches" around the edges before adding a clip and small pre-made bow using Ranger glossy accents.  I'm really happy with how it turned out especially since I've been dealing with some health issues for myself and my husband.

 Challenge 2136 - Team A, Sept. 6

Sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Hello and welcome to another challenge for Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  This week we are being sponsored by  CAS-ual Fridays Stamps.  I would like to thank them for their sponsorship.  My card today is using a stamp set, and matching die, that I am IN LOVE with!!  Did I say I was in love with them?  The stamp set has just enough snarkiness to be funny, yet there are sentiments in it that are great for other times.

I started out by die cutting my coffee cup using the Coffee Cup Dies from groovy guava card stock then stippling some guava around the edges to "age" the cup a bit before die cutting my coffee saying from scrap close to cocoa card stock.  I then stippled matching cocoa ink over the lettering to help them stand out on the card base.  My sayings were stamped in memento tuxedo black ink from Coffee Talk onto scrap guava before punching the saying out and stippling guava ink around the edges then popping it up over the die cut coffee saying.  The second half of the sentiment was stamped in memento tuxedo black directly onto my die cut coffee cup before adding punched cocoa flowers using Ranger glossy accents as the adhesive.  The final touches was some guava ribbon I've had for a while and copper ice stickle centers
