November Blast From The Past!

It's that time of the month again - Taylored Expressions Blast From The Past blog hop.  I'm thrilled to be able to participate this month after being gone for several thanks to health/severe migraine issues.  As it is, I made both of my entries on migraine meds.

This month's theme is Autumn/Thankful, so I pulled out three sets that I thought would match the theme. 

I started out by stamping the flowers/grass from Discover Your Wings in varying shades of memento ink on MFT creme perfect panels before lightly stippling Stampin Up! bashful blue ink over the main image.  Once everything was layered, I added some brushed copper brads and ribbon to the card before stamping the saying from Beary Special Accessories.  The saying was then punched out with Stampin Up! oval punches and popped up on dimensionals.

For my second card, I used Branching Out and Branching Out Coordinates stamping in varying shades of memento ink on MFT creme perfect panels and stippling Stampin Up! bashful blue ink to fill in the white spots then popping up the owl and squirrel.  Since I wanted the twill ribbon to match, I stippled Stampin Up! pumpkin pie dye ink over both sides of the ribbon before tying it in a knot.


Once the knot was tied, I popped up the entire panel over the dyed twill with pop dots.  Here's a side view of the popped up owl and squirrel.

For the inside of the card, I pulled out some of my vintage primas and layered them over the twill on the right before stamping the saying onto the left side in memento tuxedo black ink.

Wednesday Stamp Club

It's MFT's Wednesday Stamp Club time again and this week we were given a sketch to do.  I didn't get a chance to play until today thanks to more migraines and the MFT release.

I decided to ink up a set that hasn't even been used yet and pair it with some Die Cuts With a View glitter stack paper given to me by one of our traveling nuclear med techs at work.  Jennifer was a blast to work with.

I started out by stamping  the main image from Dance The Night Away in memento tuxedo black ink on MFT white Perfect Panels and then color her with Prismacolor pencils and a couple of markers.  Dusting off my coluzzel, I created the matted layers before adding some primas from my stash.


Since I wanted the saying to cover both the front and inside of the card, I cut it in half and stamped it separately before layering and popping up on the front.  Using MFT's Jumbo Scallop Die-namic, I decorated the inside with silver designer paper and some velvet and glitter primas.

I'm really pleased with the way the card turned out; especially since I was on double migraine meds. :(

Digital Family

Did you know when using digital images, size is not a problem? Sounds weird doesn't it? LOL Ok, let me explain.

I'm starting on some of my Christmas presents, especially for my brother and sister-in-law since I have to mail them.  So since they had not seen my family in a couple of years, I thought sending an album with pictures would be a great idea as well as a cute table decoration. Both my brother and sister-in-law are computer programmer's, so the robot theme fits their family perfectly, especially since both of their kids are taking after mom and dad.

I started off by printing all of MFT's digital robots onto white cardstock in different sizes, and then also downloaded and printed off some Stephanie Fizer robot digital paper.  After coloring all of them, and cutting out the smaller ones, I layered the larger images onto Stampin Up! pretty in pink, razzleberry cardstock and designer paper.  I then lightly stippled bashful blue ink around the images to fill in all of the white areas and held everything together with Stampin Up! pretty in pink brads before putting everything into a frame I picked up at Wal-mart.

Next, I took the Stephanie Fizer robot digital paper and covered a Stampin Up! chipboard mini brag book (inside and out), and the holder, that I had in my stash.  Once that was done, I inked the edges with Stampin Up! basic grey dye ink using a stipple brush allowing the brush to "hang over" and stipple the side where the images would be.  Once that was done, I added my cut out images and pictures to the inside.

A quick and simple ensemble that I'm sure my brother and his wife will enjoy.  Of course, I'll probably add something else to the mix as well.

Mommy...Seriously!!

Non stamping related post for you today, but I just had to post these pics about our chihuahua dog, Bella.  Now that it's getting a bit cold in the mornings when she wants to go out, and with the rain starting to arrive, my husband and I thought she needed a couple of coats to keep her warm and dry.  I mean this dog shivers like crazy if the temp inside the house gets below 69 degrees, so those really cold mornings starting late November and into the spring are really going to suck.

However, we discovered something.  Bella hates wearing coats, especially her rain coat.  Last week it was pouring outside late at night and she kept trying to back up and out of the raincoat for about five (5) minutes before sitting her bottom on the wet grass (which she hates) until my husband took it off her laughing like crazy. 


The same holds true for her little pink jacket.  She hates wearing it even though she's shivering outside or even inside.  However, she's so cute in them!!  I'm sure someday she'll get used to them, especially if she wants to stay warm and dry.

Get Well Set

I didn't get a chance to do last week's Wednesday Stamp Club challenge - It's In The Bag, so I used the challenge as my guideline for using some of the stuff from my stash. 

I first inked up my MFT Pure Innocence Better Get Better set and stamped it three (3) times on MFT's white Perfect Panels in memento tuxedo black ink.  Once I had all three Pure Innocence images colored, I cut two of them all out and layered one image then popped one more up on Stampin Up! dimensionals.  Taking some scrap bashful blue cardstock, I cut it with MFT's Jumbo Ric Rack Die-namic, stippling Tim Holtz old paper dye ink over it.  Then taking some scrap Stampin Up! regal rose and sage shadow cardstock, I cut those with MFT's Flower Trio & Leaf Trio Die-namic before layering on top of each other with bling sticker centers next to the popped up images.

I finally pulled out some Autumn Leaves Thrift Shop designer paper I found on clearance at Target over a year ago, and wrapped a metal band aid container I've had over a year as well.  After adding my cut out Pure Innocence image, I also wrapped some scrap Stampin Up! regal rose grossgrain ribbon around the edge.

Missing Sable

Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card for a friend who had to put her 11 year old cat to sleep thanks to cancer.  I wanted to try a different color combo for a sympathy card, so I decided on pinks and purples for the majority of the card.  I used the flowers from Papertrey Ink's Spiral Bouquet to create the background for the layers as well as the main flowers. 

After stamping my flowers, I pulled my saying from Papertrey's With Sympathy and With Sympathy Loss Of Pet to complete my card.

Hello Fall

I was playing with this MFT Pure Innocence set Start The Day With Wee and got this idea to pair it up with some silk maple leaves from my stash.  To match the silk leaves, I stamped the background using the flower from a retired MFT set "In The Background" in Stampin Up! more mustard ink then sponged the sides of the card.

Once my leaves were added, I added the cut out Pure Innocence image making sure the swing ropes showed from under the leaves.  A Colorbook button sticker finished off the leaves section.

For my saying, I used the new MFT Banner Die-namic to be released on November 3rd paired with MFT's Banner Alphabet and doubled layered it.

Teachers Pet Note Set

I've always been meaning to make a password book since I have a hard time remembering them.  This month's MFT's Guest Designer Challenge gave me the perfect excuse and motivation to get moving on it.

I decided to start with my card and use the goodies I received in my November VIP kit.  I started out by stamping my images from the new Teacher's Pet Who's That Girl set that will be released on November 3rd on MFT's White Perfect Panels in memento tuxedo black in then colored with prismacolor markers.

Once my layering was done for the card, I sanded down the silver brads I was adding in order to match the Crate Paper from the kit.  For a final touch, a scrap of Stampin Up! chocolate chip grossgrain ribbon is stapled to the panels. 

Using MFT's Jumbo Ric Rack Die-Namic to make an embellie stamped in Stampin Up! pumpkin pie dye ink.  I then added a paper clip charm held between two country Prima flowers from my stash by a silver brad that was sanded down again.

For my notepad, I printed out some Stephanie Fizer school digital papers to cover a 99cent notepad I got from the dollar store.  After adding some scrap Crate Paper, and stamping NOTES with MFT's Wendy Alphabet with memento tuxedo black then stippled Tim Holtz old paper ink over it.
I finished it off by dusting off my Stampin Up! hardware kit and using the paper anchors to hold down my scrap chocolate chip grossgrain ribbon.

For my password book, I pulled out a mini composition book from Target and covered it with the Crate Paper from my VIP kit.  Taking the new banner die-namic to be released on November 3rd, I ran it through my Big Shot using Stampin Up! pumpkin pie paper, and then again with ruby red.  For layering, I took the pumpkin pie strip and layered it onto the leftover piece of ruby red.  I then stamped PASSWORDS using the new Banner Day Alphabet and used an apple to separate them. 

Using scrap Crate Paper, I rolled it up and decorated a pen for the final piece of my set.
