A Day At The Lake

Hello and welcome.  Today I have another card I had started three weeks ago before getting a nasty migraine and is inspired by two of the Ways To Use It challenges over at Splitcoaststampers.  I pulled out an old, and dusty, A Stamp In The Hand (Nature 1 & 2) and Close To My Heart (Beautiful Things) stamp sets.  I had bought the A Stamp In The Hand sets from a rubber stamp convention years ago and hadn't used yet (NBUS).

I started out by stamping images from the Nature 1 & 2 sets using memento tuxedo black, northern pine and nautical blue inks.  Once that was finished, I took my Koh-i-noor pencils and colored the fisherman, tree trunks, some of the water and cattails before blending Tim Holtz broken china, mowed lawn and stormy sky distress inks before deciding to highlight parts of the shoreline using the pencils as well.  After layering, I added some vintage brads before adhering to my card stamped also in memento northern pine ink.  As an afterthought, I then blended a bit of the stormy sky to help create the feeling of a cloudy day then added a sentiment, clouds and additional trees from a retired Close To My Heart set.

Enjoy The Little Things

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made a few weeks ago but haven't had the chance to photograph and upload thanks to my migraine.  The appointment I had yesterday with the new neurologist went really well and I've gotten some answers to several things and possibly a new course of treatment.  One thing I did learn is that my long haul COVID is definitely adding to my migraine issues, so if you have not gotten your COVID vaccination, please get it ASAP.  You don't want to end up with my health issues.

Ok, now back to my card.  I bought this stamp set from Colorado Craft Company, or 3C, during their end of year sale and still haven't used it yet (NBUS).  Unfortunately, it's retired now but is from the Lovely Legs collection called Enjoy Every Moment.  I was inspired by Splitcoaststampers March Virtual Stamp Nights MAR23VSND Seafood challenge.  I started out by stamping the image, and saying, in memento tuxedo black onto scrap Hammermill white card stock before cutting it down to adhere as a mini slimline card.  After coloring it using both my prismacolor and copic markers, using my Picket Fence Studios blending brushes, I stippled some Tim Holtz broken china distress ink and Adirondack caramel ink around the edges before layering and adding some white mini brads.  Once I was finished layering, I decided to add some of the left over broken china ink that was still on my brush to help color in the sky a bit more and give the appearance of clouds/fog.  The final touches were adding some waterfall ice stickles and Sparkle Midnight Shimmer bling from Crafty Meraki.  I really love that there's some tiny bling gems in the set.

PIP Challenge 2316.........A Little Late

 Sponsored by

Hello and welcome.  Monday began a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we are being sponsored by The Cutting Cafe.  I would like to thank them for their sponsorship and for providing the templates were used by the design team.  My card is a tad late thanks to a nasty migraine I've had for the last few weeks (still have it too).  Finally felt a tad better yesterday to finish my card.  I do go to the neurologist today so please send some good thoughts, or prayers, my way.

After printing off the May Word template onto Neenah white card stock, I fussy cut it out before blending some Tim Holtz tumbled glass, milled lavender and dusty concord distress inks over my card and cut out words.  I then stamped the solid leaves I bought last year and haven't used yet from Colorado Craft Company's Majestic Moth in mowed lawn distress ink before stamping the leaves outline in memento black over them.  After popping up my concord "MAY", I stamped the dragonfly from the same set onto scrap Neenah white card stock, colored using copic markers and then fussy cut it out to add to my card.  Once that was added, I decided it needed something else and pulled out my punched scrap shapes and added those to the card before adding some old Stampendous dragonfly stickers.  The finishing touches were ice stickles highlighting the dragonfly wings and flower centers.  For the inside, I cut apart one of the sayings from the Majestic Moth clear set to create the inside of the card.

Musings

Hello and welcome.  I'm dealing with a nasty migraine so I've not been creating or doing anything online right now until I can get it under control or gone.  Right now not much is helping either.  I do appreciate your patience.  Thank you.

PIP Challenge 2314

Sponsored by Lawn Fawn

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  This week we're being sponsored by Lawn Fawn.  I would like to thank them for their sponsorship. I've been feeling pretty crummy the last few weeks, so I decided to CASE (copy and share everything) myself for this week's card.
I started out by stamping the fireplace, rug and Christmas tree on scrap Neenah white card stock before stamping everything else on scrap card stock to use later.  After I colored it all using both my prismacolor and copic markers, I lightly stippled some Stampin Up ruby red ink around the edges before stippling some Altenew lagoon ink around the edges over the ruby red ink using my blending brushes from Picket Fence Studios.  I then fussy cut all of the smaller images out then adhering them using my Bearly Art glue.  I then layered the image panel and added green brads before adhering the layered panel to my de-bossed card before stippling Stampin Up spruce ink around the edges.  After adding the "dream bubbles" using pop dots , I added crystal ice stickles to highlight parts of the images and some poinsettia drew drops I found in my stash.  I'm pretty please with how it turned out considering I'm still dealing with a sinus infection with bronchitis for the last few weeks.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day!

A Swirly Bon Appetit!

Hello and welcome.  I'd like to share another card made for Splitcoaststampers VSN challenges.  For this one, I decided to pull out one of my favorite Stampin Up sets Viola and Viola To Go.  Unfortunately, they're both retired.  I sold my set back in 2016 in a panic when we had to move and regretted that ever sense.  Finally found a replacement set on the secondary market that I didn't have to sign over my first born plus not have to pay a crazy amount.  I digress.

I started out by stamping my chef, spaghetti and saying in memento tuxedo black ink onto a scrap of white Hammermill card stock before coloring everything using both my prismacolor and copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I layered everything before adding brads and setting aside.  My card is dry embossed using a Sizzix swirl embossing folder and my big shot.  After the dry embossing was finished I adhered the layered image onto the card using glue dots.  Taking a black gel pen, I highlighted the "Bon Appetit", chef's mustache and neck scarf to help them stand out a bit more.  I'm really pleased with how this turned out.

Candy Bars And Birthday's

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card made for one of the challenges for Splitcoaststampers Virtual Stamp Night (VSN).  Now I've had this stamp for at least 7 or 8 years but I don't seem to use it as much as I should since it's easy to color.  The entire image on my card is the entire stamp - no masking, fussy cutting, etc required.  So let's get to it.

After stamping my image on some scrap Neenah white card stock, I colored it using my prismacolor and copic markers before stippling some Tim Holtz tumbled glass and mowed lawn distress ink around the edges then layering.  Once that was finished, I took my card base and dry embossed only half of the card using an old Tim Holtz tree bark embossing folder with my Big Shot© before adding a scrap of designer paper to create my border.  The final touches were adding brads to the layered image, and adhering using some pop up glue dots, I highlighted the Happy Birthday using a black gel pen before taking a fingernail and distressing the edges of the panel.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out since I made it while dealing with a migraine and sinus infection/bronchitis.

Merry Christmas In April

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a Christmas card made using a "never before used" stamp set from Lawn Fawn called Christmas Dreams I bought as a birthday present to me last year and is inspired by the book/poem Twas The Night Before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore. (clicking the link sends you to a history about this beloved story)

I'm pretty please with how it turned out considering I'm still dealing with a sinus infection with bronchitis.
