Birthday Ocean

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a birthday card made for my brother in law using several sets/dies from Picket Fence Studios and a dusty Spots and Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I started out by stamping several fish from a never before used (NBUS) One Year Older set in memento tuxedo black, on several scrap white panels, before coloring using Castle Art pencils.  Once all of my coloring was finished, I stamped the sea "floor" items in several memento colors from the following sets: Dose Of Vitamin Sea, Little Coral Girl (NBUS), and Schools of Fish (retired/sold out).  I then stippled Stampin Up bliss blue, pacific pointe and Tim Holtz brushed corduroy using Picket Fence Blending Brushes until I was happy with the coverage.  I then took a large scrap piece of bliss blue card stock and a pacific pointe card, dry embossed it using my Spots and Dots embossing folder and Big Shot before stippling matching ink over the embossed images.  Once the card was ready, I layered the image panel and added brads before adding to the card.  For the inside of the card, I stamped my sayings onto more white scraps, stippled bliss blue ink and then added to the card's inside.  As an afterthought, I added two die cut fish to the top inside panel before stamping additional fish and sea floor items masking as needed.  After popping up the die cut fish to the outside, adding white gel pen "bubbles" and ice stickles, my card was finished.  I'm really happy with how it turned out since I'm still dealing with COVID symptoms (trust me you don't want to get COVID).

PIP Challenge 2204

 Sponsored by

 Gerda Steiner Designs

Hello and welcome.  Today starts a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we are being sponsored by Gerda Steiner Designs.  I would like to thank them for the images they provided the design team to use this week.  For my card, I am using their Mouse In Cup digital image which includes the adorable cup with hearts image.

I started out by printing the cup with hearts image onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using Castle Arts Colored Pencils before stippling Stampin Up rose red ink around it then layering.  Once layered, I added some vanilla button brads before setting aside.  My card is made using scrap Stampin Up rose red card stock and scrap K and Company vanilla heart designer paper I've had laying around.  To that I added the layered image before stamping the love saying in memento tuxedo black ink from a long retired Stampin Up set.  I then stippled the rose red ink around my card to finish it off.

Rockin' Wishes

Hello and welcome.  I don't remember if I've mentioned it before but I am SO OVER the 30 day trial period for 2022 already.  Especially since COVID has decided to visit my house.  First my son gets it and then I get it and I'm still dealing with the effects.  Fortunately, my husband has not tested positive and he's just as high risk as I am.  After two years of being so careful, getting vaccinated and boosted, I get a breakthrough infection.  Ugh!  Enough of that.

I have a couple of quick cards that I would like to share.  The first one uses a couple of Picket Fence Studios stencils.  I started out by stenciling the Field of Snowy Trees (NBUS) in Tim Holtz pine needles distress ink before stenciling the Slim Line Cloud Coverage (my new go to for clouds/snow) in Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink using the Picket Fence Blending Brushes.  I then took a retired Stampin Up Wishes Awash saying and stamped that in memento tuxedo black before layering.  I then added some NBUS Christmas tree brads and popped the layered image up on pop up glue dots.  The final touch was adding some Picket Fence Gin and Tonic Sequins using Ranger Crystal Accents.

The second card features some stamps from Visible Image I had won a few years ago and never used (NBUS). I decided to go with a clean and simple card for a teenage guy and play along with the Splitcoaststampers FS781 challenge.  For my inspiration, I went with this card.  I started out by stamping the guitarist from Rock Out in memento tuxedo black and then stamped the Ink Splats in Kaleidacolor Blue Breeze ink.  The final touches were a couple of Spiked Ocean Water sequins using Ranger Glossy Accents to adhere them.

Singing Penguins

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made using up some scrap card stock with a retired The Cat's Pajamas clear set called Joy To The World.

After stamping the images in memento black onto scrap white Neenah card stock, then coloring using prismacolor and copic markers, I stenciled the clouds using a PFS Slimline Cloud stencil and PFS Blending Brushes along with Tim Holtz Stormy Sky distress ink.  Once  that was done, I punched the corners and layered it, then punched the layered panel to turn it into a tag.  Taking a bliss blue scrap, I dry embossed it before stippling bliss blue ink over the raised images and the edges and adding to some scrap lilac card stock.  For embellishments I added some clear snowflake sequins from my stash along with the punched snowflake snippets before adding ice stickles to highlight everything.  A snippet of ribbon, white gel pen and black Sakura 3D glaze pen finished my card off.

Sunflower Advice

Hello and welcome.  I don't know about you, but so far I'm not impressed with the 30 day trial for 2022.  That being said, I have a card to share with you using an Impression Obsession digital stamp I've had for sometime and never used (NBUS) called Advice From A Sunflower and is a freebie too.

After printing my image off onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before stippling Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink using PFS Blending Brushes around the edges and layering.  Once the layering was finished, I added some vintage brads and faux sewing before adding to my card.  The final touch was highlighting parts of the saying using Sakura 3D glaze pens.

Warm Coffee Wishes

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card made using some new (NBUS) The Cat's Pajamas stamps I picked up at their clear stamp retirement sale which ends on January 17th.  I started out by stamping my coffee images from Freshly Brewed Heaven, Big Fat Holiday Greetings, and the saying from Holly Jolly Christmas (retired) before coloring them using Castle Art pencils before stippling some Stampin Up bliss blue ink around the edges then layered onto scrap card stock.  My card was made using bliss blue card stock along with a designer paper scrap from my stash.  After adding some blue fibers I've had for years, I added my layered image along with some sequin snowflakes.  As an after thought, I went and highlighted parts of the image panel using Sakura 3D glaze pens before re-stamping my saying and adding that using dimensionals.

PIP Challenge 2202

Challenge 2202

Sponsored by Polkadoodles

Hello and welcome.  Today starts a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and we are being sponsored this week by Polkadoodles.  First, I would like to thank them for the images they provided the design team to use for our projects.  My card uses the image Lil Miss Mermaid Dolphin.

After printing my image onto Neenah white card stock, I colored her using Castle Art Pencils before fussy cutting her out and setting aside.  I then took some scrap denim designer paper I had bought at Costco at least a decade ago and added it to a not quite navy card before stippling some Tim Holtz Faded Jeans and Stormy Sky distress inks lightly over the designer paper using Picket Fence Studios Blending Brushes.  I then fussy cut a scrap of caramel card stock, stippled some creamy caramel (retired) ink over it before adding it to the card as the "ocean floor".  Taking a sanding block, I then lightly sanded my "ocean floor" before stamping my saying from Picket Fence Studios Every Good and Perfect Gift in memento black.  Once I added my mermaid, and some blue fibers from my stash, I dug out some fish stickers I've had for several years (again never using) and added those.  The final touches were ice stickles and some flowers punched from pink scraps using a Martha Stewart 3-way hydrangea punch.

Surf's Up!

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a card that was inspired by a recent Splitcoaststampers Virtual Stamp Night challenge.  I had come across this old retired Taylored Expressions mini set called Surf's Up!

I started out by stamping my penguin in memento tuxedo black ink onto some scrap Neenah white card stock before coloring using both copic and prismacolor markers.  Once I was finished coloring the penguin, I created the "beach" he's standing on using my copic markers before stippling my "ocean" behind him using some Tim Holtz tumbled glass and broken china distress inks.  Taking a Picket Fence Studio slimline cloud stencil, blending brushes and some Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink, I created my background clouds before stippling a little stormy sky distress ink around the white edges of the image panel then layered.  My card base was created using some scrap designer paper in my stash, along with some retired Stampin Up bliss blue card stock along with bliss blue dye ink stippled around the edges.  After adding the layered panel, using a Sakura black 3D glaze pen, I hand drew the "seagulls" before adding blue dew drops, waterfall ice stickles  and Ranger Glossy Accents to highlight the ocean water.  I'm very please with how this turned out.

Reflections On 2021

Hello, welcome and Happy New Year to you.  Here's to hoping 2022 is better than 2021 has been to me with my health.  Between my migraines, chronic lung issues and fibromyalgia, my cup was more than overflowing with doctors visits, prescriptions and medical bills. I would have to say the highlight of the year was fostering two adorable kittens my husband named Raider (tabby boy) and Raiderette ( black/white tuxie girl).  Can you tell we're Raider fans? lol  These two adorable babies arrived on my doorstep at 10pm one night during the summer when some kids in the mobile home park we live in found them in the middle of the road and they went door to door trying to find someone who would find homes for them.  Having cats myself, there was no way I was going to say no.  So suddenly the extra bathroom in the house because their foster room until they were ready for adoption.  Raider was adopted, in September, by a family from Pets Mart while Raiderette was adopted by my son who renamed her Rai (pronounced Rey).  Our shy little Rai has since come out of her shell and is BFF's with our chihuahua Holly.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and here's to a better year for us all.
