Welcome Little Dino

Hello and welcome.  Today is another Freebie Friday over at Catch The Bug.  This week's freebie is a cute little dino hatching from it's egg.  You can grab him for one week over on the blog.  The image works great for welcoming new babies, kids birthday's (even big at heart kids), just because, etc.

I started out by stamping my image onto Neenah white card stock then coloring using Castle Art pencils before stippling some tumbled glass and garden green inks around it.  Once I was finished with the coloring and layering, I added some white brads and adhered it to a white card.  The card background I received from a friend as a RAK and was made using a gel press and paint.  After stamping my saying, and layering, I added some more white brads before adding it to the card.  The only other embellishments were teal enamel hearts and Sakura 3D glaze pens to highlight parts of the image then drawing "birds" in the background.   I think it turned out really good especially since I was dealing with another migraine.  This weather is trying to kick my booty for sure.

Grapevines and Hugs

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a couple of different cards inspired by two challenges over on Splitcoaststampers.

First up is a card inspired by Marvin Gaye's song I Heard It Through The Grapevine.  When I first saw the challenge last Friday, I knew what song I wanted to go by and had to look ALL weekend for the stamp set I wanted.  So all weekend, this song was going through my head and it's still there.

I started out by stamping the vine from Stampin Up's retired Grapes set in garden green ink onto Neenah white card stock before pulling out some memento grape jelly to stamp the grapes in.  My saying was stamped in memento tuxedo black from the retired Friend To Friend set.  I then lightly stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink over the remaining white areas before layering and adding brads.  The only other embellishment added was a purple organdy ribbon.

My second card uses the retired Hearts And Flowers For You from Impression Obsession.   I started out by stamping the jar in memento summer sky ink onto scrap white card stock before stamping the flowers and leaves in various memento inks.  I then stamped the saying and tag in memento black before layering.  I had stamped the tag onto another piece of scrap card stock to color before deciding against it.  I'm much happier with it without the coloring.  The only embellishment added was some gold cord ribbon.

Hello Kitty

Hello and welcome.  Today is my final guest designer spot for the Outlawz Monday Greetings challenge and this week we are being sponsored by Beccy's Place.  I would like to thank them for their sponsorship for this challenge.

I started out by printing off the Fat Cat image onto Neenah white card stock before coloring using Castle Art pencils.  Once my coloring was done, I blended some Tim Holtz tattered rose and Stampin Up going grey inks around the image before layering and adding brads.  I wasn't quite happy with how the layered image looked so I took a fingernail and distressed the edges of the bottom layer before stamping my saying from the now closed MFP Stamp Shop in memento black.  I then added it to a plain chocolate chip card using dimensionals before adding some glossy accents to the eyes, primas and some bling I've had for years as the final touches.  As an afterthought, I added some diamond ice stickles to the heart on the cat's collar.

Hummingbird and Daisies

Hello and welcome.  Today we have a new Stella Says Sketch over at Catch The Bug.  My card today uses the versatile  Blocks-Hummingbird image colored using Castle Art pencils.

After printing off my image onto Neenah white card stock, and coloring using my Castle Art pencils, I layered it onto scrap card stock then added brads.  I then took another piece of scrap card stock, embossed it using a cuttlebug floral screen embossing folder and my big shot, and added it to a plain orchid opulence card base before adding my layered image panel.  I then went and punched some flowers and butterflies, using Martha Stewart punches, and added the flowers in place of the ribbon layer from the sketch.  For the butterflies, I added those into the blank space on the digital image.  The final touches were yellow and gold ice stickles, a 3D black glaze pen (for the butterfly trails), brads and then my saying.

Just BEE-cause

Hello and welcome.  Today is another Friday Freebie over at Catch The Bug and I'm pairing this cute never before used little bee up with a couple retired Stampin Up sets.

After printing the image off onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using prismacolor markers before stamping the "grass" it's walking on using Watercolor Minis (retired) then stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the edges.  Once I layered the image, I added some black brads and matching bee ribbon I've had for years.  My saying was stamped onto a scrap of summer sun card stock then punched out using a Stampin Up oval punch.  I then highlighted parts of the bee using a black 3D glaze pen and diamond ice stickles for the wings.  I then added some punched ferns/flowers with ice stickles centers using Ranger Glossy Accents.

PIP 2116

                                                Challenge 2116 - Team A

Sponsored by Newton's Nook

Hello and welcome to Pammies Inky Pinkies challenge #2116.  This week we are sponsored by Newton's Nook Designs.  I would like to thank the Newton's Nook for sponsoring this week's challenge.  Trust me, if you love cats or especially cute images, then Newton's Nook is your kind of stamp store.   For my project today, I am using a cute little set I recently bought (NBUS) called Lake Advice, and you know, the sentiment is so true.

For my card, I decided to try using up some of the scraps still on my stamp table.  I started out by stamping all my images in memento tuxedo black ink before coloring using Castle Art pencils and a blender pencil.  I then stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the edges before lightly blending some summer sun behind the trees so it looked like the sun was rising/setting.  I then stamped the card itself in gardent green ink before stippling the same ink around the edges. After adding some ice stickles to highlight the water, I then cut out the canoe/oar and adhered them using glue dots.  The final touch was adding some Picket Fence Gin and Tonic sequins using Ranger glossy accents to adhere them due to their small size.  I'm really happy with how this turned out, especially since I made it while dealing with another migraine.  Had to focus on something else besides the pain since the pain meds weren't working.

Day Of The Dead Wedding Couple

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with your a card made using an image called Day Of The Dead Sprite Couple from Aurora Wings.  I was originally inspired to make this card by a pin over at Paper Mache Art.

After printing the image off onto Neenah White card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once my coloring was finished, I created my cloud background using my Slimline Cloud Stencil and blending brushes from Picket Fence Studios along with Tim Holtz stormy sky ink.  I then went and pulled my retired Watercolor Minis stamp set to create the "flower petal bed" they're standing on and then layered the image.  The only embellishment used is black brads.  The final touch was stamping my saying, from Stampin Up's retired Sincere Salutations, under the layered image panel using memento tuxedo black ink.

Blossom Definition

Hello and welcome.  Today I have a card to share using Bugaboo's Blossom Word Block for the new Saturday challenge over at Catch The Bug.

After printing off the image onto Neenah white card stock, I pulled out my Castle Art pencils and got to work coloring before trimming down to size then layering.  Since I decided to keep the design pretty clean and simple, I only added black brads before adhering to my card.  I then stamped the thinking of you saying from a long retired Stampin Up set to finish it off.

Hello and welcome.  Today is Freebie Friday over at Bugaboo's blog Catch The Bug and we have an adorable little spring umbrella.

I started out by printing the Fancy Umbrella onto Hammermill white card stock before coloring using Castle Art pencils and a blender pencil.  I then stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the edges before stamping my dusty All Night Media raindrops stamp in stormy sky distress ink.  Once that was done, I layered it and added some white brads.  The card background was a RAK sent to me by a friend.  The final embellishments were some Stampin Up enamel heart stickers and crystal ice stickles on the raindrops.

Love, Hearts, Buttons and Bows

Hello and welcome.  I'm guest designing for the new Monday Greetings challenge over at the Outlawz.  For this challenge, the theme is Buttons and Bows and we are being sponsored by All Dressed Up digital stamps.  I would like to thank them for providing the Love Hearts image for the design team; which is a new one (NBUS) for me.

After printing my image onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using Castle Art pencils and a blender pencil before stippling real red ink around the edges then layering.  After adding some baby button brads, I then added it to my card base.  My card is made out of real red card stock with some dusty K&Co designer paper I've had in my stash for years and not used.  I then stamped my saying in memento tuxedo black and punched it out using my dusty Stampin Up oval punches.  Finally, I added a little red bow.

  Challenge 2114 - Team A

Hello and welcome to another Pammies Inky Pinkies challenge.  This week we are sponsored by Gerda Steiner Designs and I would like to thank them for sponsoring us this week and for providing the cute Pen Pal Bear image the design team is using.   For my project this week, I decided to go with a clean and simple (CAS) layout.

After printing my image onto Neenah white card stock, I the colored it using Castle Art pencils and a blender pencil before lightly stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the edges and layering.  I then added some black brads and adhered it to my card using glue dots.  The card base is made using scrap white card stock with tumbled glass distress ink stippled around the edges before adding some memento tuxedo black ink directly to the paper (DTP) edge.  The only embellishments used were some PFS Gin and Tonic sequins and a small ribbon bow.
