Stella Says Sketch

Hello and welcome to another Stella Says Sketch over at Catch The Bug.  Today I'd like to share with you a cute Christmas card (yes I'm already working on them) featuring Bugaboo's Cute Snowman 3.  For my card, I took the liberty of flipping the sketch on it's side and adding an image panel to it.

After printing my image onto Neenah white card stock, I colored using both prismacolor and copic markers before stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass around the edges before layering.  I then added dimensionals before popping it up onto a blue card stamped with snowflakes.  I kept embellishments simple and added some sequin snowflakes from my stash with ice stickle centers.

Scribbles, Flowers And Butterflies

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a project inspired by National Scribble Day on March 27th.  I've never heard about this day until recently, have you?  For my project, I'm using a never before used (NBUS) cute little image called A Kids View Butterflies from Bugaboo.

After printing my image three times onto Neenah white card stock to create a type of "banner", and then colored them using Castle Art pencils with a blender pencil. Once that was done, I took my Slim Line Cloud Coverage stencil from Picket Fence Studios and created my cloud background using their blender brushes and Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink.  I then took some Tim Holtz forest moss distress ink and created the ground cover also using the blender brushes.  Then came the fun part.  Taking an empty can of chickpeas, and rinsing it out then allowing to dry, I adhered my colored images/banner using Scrappy Tape making sure the entire "banner" was adhered completely.  Once that was finished, I found some dusty scrap tulip ribbon I've had for years and adhered that also using the Scrappy Tape.  I then dug out some old, old Sandylion Essentials flower/butterfly stickers and adhered those using glue dots since they were no longer "sticky".  The final touches were highlighting the butterfly trails using Sakura 3D black glaze pen and then diamond ice stickles to highlight the flower, and butterfly, centers.

Here are the other pics showing the "banner" going all the way around.

Hello and welcome to another challenge over at Pammies Inky Pinkies.  This week we are sponsored by  We Are Three and I'm using their Floral Blooms which is a never before used one (NBUS) for me.

I started out by printing the slim line image onto Neenah white card stock so I could color it using pencils but then changed my mind and went with my prismacolor and copic markers instead.  Once the coloring was finished, I took a teardrop memento tuxedo black ink pad and rubbed it along the edges (DTP) of the colored image before layering.  For my card, I took some dusty Prima Sun kissed designer paper I've had for a few years and never used until now and added it to a bashful blue card base.  I then took some of the scrap designer paper and used it as one of the image panel layers.  My only embellishments were some pastel blue brads, some sunflower ribbon I've had for years in my stash, and a few drops of crystal ice stickles to highlight parts of the sun flowers.

The Elephant Who Wanted To Fly

Hello and welcome.  Today I'm guest designing for the Outlawz Sunday Song and Rhymes challenge and we're being sponsored by Oddball Art Company and the image I'm using is the never before used (NBUS)  Kawaii Christmas Baby Elephant With Antlers. For the challenge, we were inspired by this song:

The Butterfly Song (If I Were a Butterfly) Psalty & Ernie Rettino

If I were a butterfly
I'd thank you, Lord, for giving me wings
And if I were a robin in a tree
I'd thank you, Lord, that I could sing
And if I were a fish in the sea
I'd wiggle my tail, and I'd giggle with glee
But I'd just thank you Father for making me me
'Cause you gave me a heart
And you gave me a smile
You gave me Jesus
And you made me your child
And I just thank you Father for making me me
If I were an elephant
I'd thank you, Lord, by raising my trunk
And if I were a kangaroo
I'd just hop right up to you
And if I were an octopus
I'd thank you, Lord, for my good looks
But I'd just thank you Father for making me me

After printing my image onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using Castle Art pencils and a blender pencil before blending Stampin Up bashful blue and Tim Holtz stormy sky inks using my Picket Fence Studios blending brushes then layering onto scrap/snippet card stock.  Since I didn't have any matching grey brads, I made my own by punching a small piece of scrap grey card stock then adhering the small circles using a Martha Stewart glue pen.  For my card, I stamped a retired Stampin Up floral background in Tim Holtz stormy sky ink before adding my layered image panel.  I then took some scrap/snippet grey and pink card stock, punched them using my Martha Stewart butterfly trio and hydragnea trio punches, and added them to the card using glue dots.  The final embellishments were bakers twine, ice stickles in the flower centers, white gel pen and a red 3D glaze pen for the elephant's heart.

Gus And The Calender WTF

Hello and welcome.  Today is Oldie But Goodie day over at Catch The Bug and I'm featuring a slim line card using one of my all time favorite Bugaboo Stamps called Gus Tidbits - WTF.  This image just cracks me up and is oh so appropriate after dealing with 2020 and the start of 2021.

After combining the image, and saying, in MS Word then printing onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before blending some going grey ink around the edges of the image using some Picket Fence Studios blending brushes.  Once I was finished with the blending, I layered the image onto Stampin Up black and olive card stock.  For the card, I took white Neenah card stock and adhered some Basic Grey Motifica designer paper I had bought on clearance at Michael's several years ago and never used (NBUS) before blending old olive ink around the edges of the card then stamping a retired Stampin Up Sanded background stamp in brown ink.  I then took my old olive marker, ran it alongside the layered image before running a Tim Holtz distresser tool along the edges then added to the card.  I then took some dusty, yet never used (NBUS) Robins Nest fresh mowed grass dew drops and added them to the corners of the layered image as my "brads" and then added some to the bottom of the card.  My final embellishment was highlighting parts of the image using Sakura 3D glaze pens, old olive marker with color spritzer tool and a black artist pen.

A Christms Card List Book

Hello and welcome.  Today is a new Anything But A Card post over at Catch The Bug and I've made a cute little Christmas card list book for you using Bugaboo's Christmas Jar digital stamp that I've had for a bit and never used (NBUS).

After printing off my image onto Neenah white card stock and coloring with Castle Art Pencils, and a blender pencil,  I stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the edges before layering.  I then took a small sketch book I had picked up at Michael's a few years back and never used (NBUS) and added some K & Company Christmas Cheer designer paper and trimmed down.  I then grabbed some scrap burgundy/gold ribbon and adhered it using some Scrappy Tape.  I then took my layered image, adhered it using some large Glue Dots.  My embellishments included some Sakura 3D glaze pens and yellow ice stickles.

PIP 2110 Peace and Joy

  Challenge 2110 - Team A

Mar. 8

Sponsored by Polkadoodles

Welcome to another Pammies Inky Pinkies challenge.  Before I get to my card, I would like to thank Polkadoodles for sponsoring this week's challenge.   For my project, I'm using their Hollybobs Choir digital image, which is a new image for me.  I also paired it with their Peace and Joy saying, which is a freebie if you'd like it.

I started off by printing my image onto Neenah white card stock then colored it using Castle Art pencils and a blender pencil.  Once my coloring was finished, I pulled out a never before used (NBUS) Slimline Cloud Stencil from Picket Fence Studios and created my clouds using blending brushes and Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink.  When I was finished blending the clouds, I tore a strip of scrap white card stock, blended Stampin Up bashful blue ink around the torn edges (as a snowbank) before adding Tim Holtz chipped sapphire distress ink around the edges of the card then layered and added silver snowflake brads I've had for years.  I then printed off the saying, added chipped sapphire distress ink to the edges, and layered before adding silver mini brads.  For my card, I added some scrap wrapping paper (left over from un-wrapping Christmas presents) to a navy blue card that just happened to match my image.  After adding a scrap navy blue strip, I added chipped sapphire to the edges of the card before adding my layered image and saying.  For the final touches, I added some Gin and Tonic sequins using glue dots then crystal ice stickles to highlight my "snow".
