Fortune Cookies - MTME Pretty Patterns 07

Hello again!  It's time for another My Time Made Easy Pretty Pattern!  This week's sketch is perfect for a long card!  However, thanks to a massive migraine, I didn't get to stamp a long one and had to get mine done in about 15min.

I decided to use some pre-stamped and pre-colored images from MTME's So Fortunate set.  I love fortune cookies!  It's a good thing too since my family loves Panda Express.  I had decided some time ago I wanted to find a way to recycle those paper fortunes found in fortune cookies.  MTME's So Fortunate set makes recycling super easy!!

Once I had picked out the colored two different fortune cookies I wanted, I trimmed one set down to size and then pulled out my dusty Fiskars wave scissors and snipped a bit off of the bottom before sponging some Stampin Up! barely banana and bravo burgundy inks around the edges.  Once that was done, I cut out another set of fortune cookies for popping up later.

Once I had my main images set to go, I pulled out some vanilla ribbon I received from a secret sister and tied a couple of knots around the card before adding my image panels and cut outs making sure to pop everything up for added dimension. 

Taking a dusty Stampin Up! flower trio punch and some scrap burgundy card stock, I punched out a bunch of flowers to layer along the bottom of my fortune cookie saying (and to cover up the restaurant name since it looked tacky otherwise).  Pulling out some Stampendous Class-A-Peel stickers from my stash, I added some bling to the centers.

Coffee And Mornings

Hello again.  Today I have a card to share I made for a swap called - What's Your Poison?  Basically, what drink are you addicted to or crave.  Easy - Starbucks!!!  Now normally I'm a tea drinker, however I love a good Starbucks and I had this fantastic digital image and saying to go with the idea.

Once I printed out my digital image I bought last year sometime, I pulled out my prismacolor markers and got to coloring right away.  Once my coloring was done, I pulled out one of my stipple brushes and some Stampin Up! close to cocoa ink and lightly began stippling around the edges.  As I layered everything, I made sure to edge the layers with a Stampin Up! marker so each piece was finished off completely.

Once that was done, I stamped the card in Stampin Up! close to cocoa ink using a long retired set called What's Brewin and then the next layer using Stampin Up!'s Like It A Latte retired set in navy ink.  Pulling out some vintage brads from Stampin Up!, I made sure to add those to all of the corners before adding some vintage lace ribbon and primas with ice stickle centers.

For the final touch, I used an Art Impressions saying on the inside, however, the picture didn't turn out right.  The saying is "The early bird can have the worm, I'll see you around noonish with a latte".  I just love that stamp!!!  It's perfect for this sleepy bear.

Writing Home

Hello.  Today I'm sharing with you a card I made for the one of the Musical Challenges at Splitcoaststampers.  I love this retired Stampin Up! set called Godspeed since it makes perfect cards for our military. 

For this challenge, I dusted off my Stampin Up! Godspeed set and stamped it in memento tuxedo black ink onto white card stock before coloring with prismacolor markers and stippling caramel ink around the edges.  While doing the background, I pulled out Stampin Up! soft suede card stock and ink (a color I don't use often) and stamped the helmet in those colors.  Pulling out some vintage brads and  placing the image at an angle seemed to finish things off nicely.

Vintage Bookmark

Hello again.  Today I'm sharing a bookmark I made for a vintage swap over on Splitcoast.

For my bookmark, I pulled out a stamp set from See-Dee's I had bought from Lauren (mytime) when she cleaned out her stamp closet a couple of years ago.

Once I stamped my images in memento tuxedo black onto some vanilla bookmark cardstock, I colored the images using prismacolor watercolor pencils instead of using my markers.  I was hoping not using the markers would "lighten" the images and make the bookmark appear old and faded.  To help achieve the aged look I was trying for, I stippled some Tim Holtz old paper, tea stain and antique linen inks over and around the images.  After I was done layering everything, I pulled out some antique brass vintage brads to finish everything off.  Here's a close up of the details.

Growing Old Friends - MTME Pretty Patterns Sketch 06

Hello again.  I have another card I made for this week's My Time Made Easy Pretty Pattern Sketch challenge.  I'm not as happy with it as my first card and I'm not sure why.  Maybe the designer paper makes it look too busy?

Anyways, this card uses the Bizzy Bunny digital image and sayings.  After downloading and printing out my image, I colored it with prismacolor markers before stippling Stampin Up! bashful blue ink around the edges then layering.  I then pulled out some Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety designer paper and my Unity Garden Variety stamp set to match it.  After die cutting two scallop strips using a MFT die-namic, I stamped one of the sayings from the Unity set before sponging Stampin Up! rose red ink around the edges. 

Once that was done, I found some vegetable brads from my stash, added the carrots to the main image, then popped it up on dimensionals.  Cutting out the saying, I then popped that up on regular pop dots before adding a tomato/carrot brads to the bottom.

Need A Hug? MTME Pretty Pattern Sketch 06

Hello!  Happy Thursday!! The week is almost over so that means it's time for another My Time Made Easy Pretty Pattern Sketch Challenge. 

Once again, I'm a rebel and flipped the sketch on it's side so I could use some K&Company paper ribbon and stickers I've had in my stash for a year or so.  I decided to use the Water and Waverly Wiggles digital images for my card.  After printing them out twice, and coloring with prismacolor markers, I cut two images out so I could pop them up later. 

Dusting off my Stampin Up! word window punch, I punched out the Need A Hug? saying and added it at an angle on one corner instead of using ribbon.  Pulling out the K&Company ribbon I wanted to use, I pulled off the waves and ran those down the center before adding some card stock stickers on both sides. 

After that, I layered my Water and Waverly Wiggles images, added some pewter seashell brads I received as a gift from Lauren a couple of years back, sponged some tempting turquoise ink around the edges, then popped up the panel on dimensionals.  Taking the cut out Wiggles, I then popped them up on dimensionals as well.

I'm really happy how this card turned out.  Here's some close ups of the dimension on this card.

April Blast From The Past!!!!!

It's that time of the month again!!!  Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop!!  This month's challenge is to make something clean and simple.  When I saw the instructions this month, I immediately thought of JulieHRR cards!!!  She makes the best CAS cards. I never like making one layer cards, with so much white, until a Dare To Get Dirty challenges a couple of years ago on Splitcoast.

For this month's challenge, I decided to use the set I won last month, In The Park, to make my clean and simple card.  Using some scrap white card stock, I cut it down to just larger than 3x3 so it would fit into a regular envelope and not be rejected by the postal service.  After I stamped my images in memento tuxedo black, I pulled out my prismacolor pencils and blender marker for coloring. 

Once the coloring was done, I then stamped the dog onto some more scrap white card stock, colored it, cut out and adhered to the main card sitting on the bench. 

Here's a close up of the card itself.

For my saying, I pulled out the matching "Just sittin' here Thinking of you" and stamped it on the inside with an uncolored dog.

Stop And Smell The Flowers - Recycle Swap

Hello.  I hope you are having a great Tuesday.  Today I am sharing a card I made for the Forest Friends Recycle Swap.

For my card, I pulled out some Papertrey Ink sets that I thought would be perfect for the swap and for my recycle item - dryer sheets. ;)  I started out by punching some Stampin Up! white and green galore card stock using both the Marvy Giga and Mega Scallop Punches.  Once that was done, I started stamping the skunk, flowers, and saying from PTI's Forest Friends and Forest Friends Sentiments using various memento inks. 

Once all of my stamping was done, I began to assemble my cards; first by cutting the dryer sheets down to size and then layering them onto some white card stock using double sided tape.  Once all of that was done, I added some ribbon, primas and brads to hold the dryer sheets down a little more securely.  Then it was time to assemble the scallop circles.  After layering the stamped white one over the green galore, I then popped them up on dimensionals.
