Hello.  I hope you enjoyed the Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company blog hop last week and received lots of inspiration.

Today I am sharing a card I made, even with another migraine, for a couple of challenges.  I mean, when inspiration hits, I have to go with it even with the pain, or there's no sleeping off the headache for me.  My card was mainly inspired by the colors of the picture from this week's For Your Inspiration challenge.

Take a look - isn't this sunset just gorgeous?!  Keeping with the tropical theme, I pulled out some black and orange Stampin Up! card stock to go with my images from MFP's Big Cats stamp set.

Once I had my tiger stamped twice in memento tuxedo black onto snow storm smooth card stock, I pulled out my prismacolor markers and got to coloring before cutting one image out to pop up later and then stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the edges of the layered tiger.  Then I pulled out my cuttlebug leafy branch embossing folder and dry embossed the card before adding a strip from MFP's Safari Fabric Collection tied in a knot with a tiger charm.  My final embellishments were some Making Memories black baby brads and some Colorbok black metallic stickers before popping up the cut out tiger image.

Welcome to the final day of our hop.  Today we are featuring the new set called Flamingos On Vacation and I decided to try something that was brewing in my mind for it.  I pulled out a Stampendous shirt card from my stash I've had for over 8 years and stamped the larger flamingos in memento tuxedo black before coloring them with prismacolor markers.  Then I added the palm trees in memento black, colored and added the ribbon in Adirondack sailboat blue ink across the top and along the front "opening" of the shirt.  My final touches on the outside were to stipple Adirondack lettuce ink around the edges of my shirt and the collar; then small white prima flowers with gold ice stickle centers.  Once I was done adding the ice stickles to the prima centers, I suddenly decided to add them also to the flamingo's body designs.

The inside of my shirt has both of my sayings and two more palm trees to tie everything in.

Life Is Like A Game Of Cards - My Time Made Easy Pretty Pattern Sketch#61

Hello and welcome to another My Time Made Easy Pretty Pattern Sketch challenge.  My card this week uses a combination of My Time Made Easy digital and acrylic stamps.

I started out by downloading and printing off the sayings from MTME's Keep Strong digital set and die cutting one of the sayings out using spellbinders oval dies.  Then I took MTME's Argyle Amazement acrylic set and stamped the diamonds in Stampin Up! chocolate chip & not quite navy inks onto matching scrap card stock.  Finally, I printed off MTME's Bold Boys Pretty Impressions printable designer paper before layering onto a chocolate chip card.

Mark's Finest Papers

I am so excited to finally have the Scenic Selections set; especially since I have been begging for something like this for months now, so I have two cards to share with you today.

My first card uses the church from Christmas In The Country stamped in memento tuxedo black ink onto snow storm smooth card stock and colored with koh-i-noor pencils with a blender marker.  I then stamped several of the smaller trees from Scenic Selections around the church and colored those the same way. Once all of my coloring and blending was finished, began to stipple Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink for the sky. 

Once I was satisfied with all of my stippling, I layered the colored image onto MFP lily pad, morning sun and aqua light card stocks before adding some matching brads and flower soft.  The card background is stamped in adirondak aqua using MFP New Pines stamp set.  For a final touch, I added some birds from Scenic Selections as well as one of the butterflies cut out with the wings pulled up for added dimension.  I also recently found a new challenge blog for scenic stamping called Craft A Scene and decided to make sure when finishing my church, it matched the Craft A Scene Flowers challenge requirements.

My second card also uses the Christmas In The Country set along with New Pines and the Scenic Selections, only this time using the moose image.  I started out by stamping my card using the pine cone bough image in Adirondack lettuce ink before adding an embossed Tim Holtz bark border stippled with Tim Holtz brushed corduroy distress ink.

My main image was stamped in memento tuxedo black ink onto MFP snow storm smooth card stock then colored with koh-i-noor pencils and a blender marker.  I then stamped several images from Scenic Selections onto scrap snow storm smooth card stock, colored, blended, then cut out to pop up later using pop dots.  Once everything was layered, I added some vintage looking brads, some mahogany satin ribbon, and the popped up images.  For the final touch, I stamped my saying from Get Reel in memento black.

Mark's Finest Papers

My project today shows a couple of different Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company sets to go along with our featured set Get Reel.  I remember growing up going fishing with my dad every summer while in the Indian Guides program.  This set brings back so many memories of camping, fishing, hiking, and so on with my dad, so I tried to capture some of those memories in my card for you today.

I started out by stamping my main image from Get Reel in memento tuxedo black onto MFP snow storm smooth card stock before taking the Ice and Snow stamp set and inking only part of the tree tops from the sets main image to use as cattails.  Then I took some color crayons and colored some of the "cattails" brown and the water ripples white before sponging & stippling various Tim Holtz distress and Adirondack inks to get my pond with an early morning sky look.  Once I was satisfied with the ink coverage, I stamped the saying from Get Reel and then the bird trio from the new Scenic Selections a couple of times before layering on card stock and adding some Making Memories black baby brads.  My final touches were to stamp the rocks and trees from Scenic Selections onto scrap snow storm smooth card stock, color with prismacolor markers, cut out and then pop up using mini pop dots.  For just a little sparkle, I highlighted some of the grasses with a green Copic Spica pen.

Mark's Finest Papers

Now I just love daisies, and this new set is just fantastic!!  There are so many uses for it from scrap booking, cards, home decor, etc to just name a few.  For my project today, I went with a simple card so I could use it for Mother's Day for a friends mom whom I call my "adopted mother".  Actually, I have two of them.

I started out by stamping my main image, and the additional ladybug daisy, in memento tuxedo black onto MFP snow storm smooth card stock before coloring with prismacolor markers then cutting out the single flower for popping up later.  As I layered the main image, I made sure to round off the corners by using a corner rounder punch so they would match the stamped die cut Tim Holtz ornamental layer, then added some Making Memories white baby brads.  For the card, I stamped the background using Tim Holtz scattered straw distress ink and then stippled the outside edges of the card.  The die cut layer is stamped using Tim Holtz tattered rose distress ink before stippling the edges of it as well then popping up the layered daisy trio using dimensionals.

My final touches are some black/white gingham ribbon with a fairy charm tied up with thread and the cut out ladybug daisy popping it up using pop dots and micro pop dots with ice stickles in the middle.  My card also fits the Moxie Fab Gingham Challenge.

Seagulls & Lighthouse

Hi there.  This last weekend I came across a couple of challenge blogs that I thought interesting - Moving Along With The Times Nautical challenge and CCEE Stampers faux brad challenge.  So, even with another one of my migraines, I pulled out my stamps and got to work.

I started out by stamping my images from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company Gullible Mini , Scenic Selections and Lighthouses stamp sets in memento tuxedo black onto snow storm smooth card stock before coloring with koh-i-noor pencils, prismacolor markers, and a blender marker.  Once my coloring was finished, and the images from Scenic Selections cut out for popping up later, I started stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass  and forest moss distress inks around the edges.  Then I stippled Adirondack caramel ink for the sand and aqua ink over a cloud template to help fill in the sky before layering.

Once my layering was finished, I pulled out a small hole punch to create my own brads to make sure they matched the layered card stock.  The final embellishments were some baker's twine with a starfish charm and white liquid pearls for the sea foam.

Happy Birthday Magnolias - Friends of SpeedyTV #20

Hello and welcome to another Friends of SpeedyTV challenge.  This week we are challenge to use the paper piecing technique.

I started out by stamping my images from Mother's Magnolias in memento tuxedo black onto Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company snow storm smooth and then again onto Cosmo Cricket Clementine designer papers before cutting them out to adhere to my stamped card.  After I added my cut out images, I stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass around the flowers before layering and then adding some red brads from my stash.  Then I added a couple of die cut scalloped borders before popping up my layered images and added some ripened tomato satin ribbon with a gold clip.
