PIP 2222

Sponsored by Polkadoodles

THEME:
Color Inspiration

Hello and welcome.  Today starts a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and since this is the 5th Monday of the month, we are having a color challenge (which you'll find above).  I would also like to thank our sponsor this week, Polkadoodles for providing the design team with the images we have used this week.  My card uses the Winnie Sunshine Delight Little Friends image.

After printing the image onto Neenah white card stock, I colored her using Castle Arts and Lyra pencils before lightly stippling tumbled glass distress ink around her.  Once I had my image layered, I added some small white brads before adhering her to a garden green card.  Taking a long retired Stampin Up Heard from the Heart sentiment set, I stamped it in memento black below my image panel.  The final touches were crystal accents to the large flower centers, ice stickles to the butterfly and small flower, then some faux sewing "stitches" using a black artist pen.

Even The Calendar Says WTF

Hello and welcome.  Let me start by saying it's been ONE OF THOSE WEEKS.  Ugh!  Between a lingering migraine (thank you Mother Nature's roller coaster) and the long haul COVID issues I've been dealing with, I knew I had the perfect digital stamp for the current challenge over at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers even if my card is somewhat of a PG-13 version. The image I've used for this card is one of my favorite Gus images from Bugaboo Digital Stamps (now closed).

After printing off my image onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before layering and adding some black brads.  Once I adhered the layered panel to my card, I added some faux sewing stitches to finish it off.  I'm pretty happy with how my mini slimline card turned out especially considering how I've been feeling lately.  It's gotten to the point of color/craft or cry.  I've been told that if I hadn't been fully vaccinated, and boosted, when I got my breakthrough infection, with my pre-existing conditions, I'd be in the hospital or worse.  So please, if you haven't already, get vaccinated/boosted because you do not want to catch COVID and run the risk of being a "long hauler" or worse.  It's just not worth it.  My PSA for the day.

Carnation Sprite

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card made for this month's Splitcoaststampers Fan Club challenge as well as a few other challenges.  To learn how you can participate in the monthly Fan Club challenges, plus special Fan Club events, check out the info here.  My card today is using the Carnation Sprite image from Stamps by Aurora Wings

I've had this image printed off for a while, and have just not done anything with it, until now.  It's colored using Copic markers with some pink passion ink that was leftover on my Picket Fence Studios blending brush from another project stippled around the image before layering and adding brads.  The card background uses a Unity Stamps retired digital background they had at the start of the pandemic.  The final touches were a black ribbon, some black faux stitching around the layered image panel and a white gel pen highlighting my Sprites eyes.

Hello and welcome.  Today starts another challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  This week we are being sponsored by  Beccy's Place and I would like to thank them for the images provided to the design team this week.  My card is made using images/saying from the Chute
digital stamp set.

I started out by combining my image, and saying, in a watermark program before printing it off onto Neenah white card stock then colored using Castle Arts pencils.  Once the coloring was finished, I stippled some Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass distress ink using my Picket Fence Studios Blending Brushes before layering and adding brads.  My card base is dry embossed using a dusty/retired Cuttlebug birthday embossing folder and big shot.  I then highlighted the elephants eyes with a white gel pen and highlighted the saying using a black Sakura 3D glaze pen.

A Mother's Hand

Hello and welcome.  Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there whether their children have 2-legs or 4.  Today I'd like to share a card I made for my mom this year.  It uses a LONG retired Stampin Up set called A Mother's Hand.

I started out by stamping everything in Tim Holtz Aged Mahogany distress ink before stamping the glove/heart again onto scrap paper to color later.  Once I had the parts of my image colored using Castle Arts pencils, I cut them out and popped up using dimensionals. I then layered my images, added silver/pearl heart brads and popped the panel up over my stamped border at an angle.  The final touch was some scrap lace ribbon with aged mahogany stippled over it.  As an afterthought, I stippled some Tim Holtz Tattered Rose distress ink over the image panel to help "soften" it a bit.  The saying reads: "A mother holds her children's hands for but a moment, their hearts forever."

Cats, Birds, Gnomes and Paperwork

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a couple of cute, funny cards because with everything going on in the world, there's someone that could use a good chuckle.  Lately, I'm getting pretty good at coloring while my husband's watching the news every night.  That way, I'm in the same room with him for a while and if there's something I really have to pay attention to, with his memory issues, he can wind it back and replay it for me.  Besides, between long haul COVID and chronic migraines, what else can I do?

First up is another card using a retired Gary Robertson digital image from Impression Obsession.  This one is called Trick or Treat Birdhouse.  I just love this little mischievous kitty hiding in the birdhouse while the bird's "taking care of business".  LOL  After printing it out onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using Castle Arts pencils and some Lyra flesh tone pencils before stippling some Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink using my Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Blender Brushes before layering and adding brads.  Before adhering the layered image panel to my card, I pulled out my Tim Holtz paper distresser tool and distressed the chocolate edges before popping the panel up on my card using dimensionals.  I then too some recycled/scrap pumpkin orange bakers twine that was tying up a prize package and added that to the card.  Taking some scrap card stock, and using a Marvy oak leaf punch, I punched my leaves out before stippling matching ink over them before distressing them using a stylus and mouse pad before adhering using glue dots.  The final touch was highlighting the cat/bird eyes using a clear Sakura 3D glaze pen.

Up next is a cute little gnome digital image from Whimsy Stamps called  Gnome Outhouse I recently acquired and hadn't used yet (NBUS).  After combining the image/saying in a watermark program, I printed it out onto Neenah white card stock before coloring using Castle Arts pencils.  I then stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink, and SU garden green ink, using my Picket Fence Studio blending brushes before layering on scrap card stock and adding some brads.  Once I added the layered image to my card, I added some red flowers punched from scrap card stock using a MS hydrangea punch, Ranger glossy accents, with gunmetal ice stickle centers.  The final touch was adding some small googlie eyes to the gnome to give him some "more life".

Another Sunflower For Ukraine

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card made using a retired digital image (NBUS) from Impression Obsession called Sunflower Farm Scene #1764.  I chose this image to use since I've been thinking a lot about the people of Ukraine and this image makes me think about how Ukraine's sunflower farms looked BEFORE the "aggressors" started bombing Ukraine's towns, villages, and people.

I started out by printing my sunflower image onto Neenah white card stock before coloring it using both Lyra flesh tone pencils and Castle Arts colored pencils.  Once the coloring was finished, I highlighted the frame using a gold Castle Arts gel pen before layering and adding brads.  I then added it to to a chocolate card before adding a scrap of twine and Sakura 3D glaze pens to highlight parts of the watering can and house/barn windows.  As an afterthought, I pulled out my Sonic distresser tool and distressed the edges of the chocolate card.  I'm really happy with how this turned out since I colored the image while my husband was watching the news plus I'm still dealing with my migraines and health issues.

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we are being sponsored by Star Stampz.  I would like to thank them for providing the images the design team is using this week.  My card today uses the Spring Ladybug image along with a sentiment from MFP Stamp Shop (now closed).

I started out by printing my image onto Neenah white card stock then coloring using Castle Arts pencils before stippling some Tim Holtz tumbled glass and Stampin Up green galore ink around the image.  Once the coloring was finished, I layered it using some scrap card stock before adding brads and adding to the card base.  I then stamped the saying in memento tuxedo black ink before highlighting parts of the image using Castle Arts gel pen and a Sakura 3D black glaze pen.
