This week's Stamp Something Challenge is to use sentiments. Once I saw this, I knew the sentiment and perfect stamp set to use. Since today is Memorial Day, I pulled out my retired Stampin Up! set Godspeed and got to work.
Stamping my background images in Stampin Up! brilliant blue, and then the main image in not quite navy with creamy caramel stippled around the edges, gave the card a "sandy" look as if it was written, and sent, from the desert.
My sentiment is from My Time Made Easy's May digital release called For Dad. Pulling out my prismacolor markers, I colored the DAD in a light blue and then the banner in a mustard yellow. For the final touch, I stamped, colored, and cut out a yellow ribbon to place in the upper right hand corner of the card.
For all of our troops serving overseas, and here in the United States, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!! To my nephew's Matt and Alex, please stay safe on your deployments. You will be in our prayers.
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day.

What an amazing card, Bonnie! Just wonderful. Sorry i didn't get here to see it sooner but it has got to be one of my all-time favorite cards that I've ever seen. I don't have immediate family members who are in the military but my husband is a police officer and I know it can be scary at times... at least when my hubby goes out of town I know he will be back in a few days - not months! I greatly appreciate all servicemen and women for their sacrifices... and am grateful to their families too. God bless you all... especially your nephews who have been deployed. ((hugs))
