The Colors Of Fall

Hello and welcome.  I hope your weekend is going great.  I've been asked to guest design for the Outlawz Sunday Songs & Rhymes challenge the next two weeks.  For my project, I am using one of the images from the challenge sponsor Sherry West Art. I would like to thank Sherry West Art for sponsoring the challenge.  The inspiration rhyme for the challenge is as follows:

The Colors of Fall

(Diane & Daniel Henderson)

Orange is for a pumpkin big and round.

Yellow is for leaves that fall to the ground.

Red is for an apple ripe for eating.

Green is for monsters that go trick or treating.

Brown is for a football, thrown down the field.

Purple is for grapes from a bountiful yield.

Blue is the sky, what a wonderful sight.

Black is for cats that howl in the night.

White is the moon looking quite luminescent

Sometimes it shines in the shape of a crescent.

Pink stripes at a sunset ending our day.

Tan is the scarecrow  - the color of hay.

Grey is the shadow of geese flying by.

Kaleidoscope colors that lift our hearts high.

After printing off my image onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before stippling several Tim Holtz distress inks around it to give more of a "early dusk" feel before layering onto scrap card stock and adding brads.  I think pulled out my pumpkin harvest embossing folder, ran it and some cocoa card stock thru the big shot before adhering the panel to a pumpkin card.  I then sanded the dry embossed pumpkin panel to distress it a bit before popping up my layered image over it.  After punching some scrap pumpkin card stock, using a Martha Stewart hydrangea 3 flower punch, I added those to the card along with silver ice stickle centers.  The final touches were some fall fibers, googlie eyes, and highlighting parts of the image using Sakura 3D glaze pens.
