A Vintage Message - Wednesday Stamp Club

Hello and welcome.  This last weekend I had a couple of hours where I felt pretty good from the migraines and was able to get some stamping done, so I dusted off some of my MFT sets and got to work using the sets and the Die-namics. 

For last week's Wednesday Stamp Club over on Splitcoaststampers, I decided to finally ink up the Just My Type Stamp & Die-Namic Set that's been collecting dust around here and paired it up with some vintage GinaK digital background paper I've had sitting around.  Once my image was die cut, stamped and stippled in brown inks, I die cut the center border Scallop Die-Namic and stamped the images over it and the remaining borders before stippling caramel ink over those.  For my final touch, I used the Perfect Petal Trio Die-Namic to cut some flowers, scrunched them up to "age" them, and then stippled caramel ink all over those as well before layering.  Presto!!!  Easy peasy!!

Teapot Tuesday Meets MFT!

Hello all.  Question?  Is it June or December?  Right now in my small corner of California, we are having rain, possible thunderstorms, snow (yes snow) in the mountains near me and a 20degree drop in the temperatures.  Now I normally wouldn't complain about the temperature, however, it's creating havoc with my migraines.  Oh my aching head!!

Ok, this week's teapot Tuesday challenge is to make a card with numbers that will be sent to another participating tea potter, just like last month.  So for my card, I decided to "get two challenges with one card" done; even with a migraine.  Ugh!  I started out by stamping MFT's Pure Innocence Book In Hand twice onto MFT Cream Perfect Panels and coloring with prismacolor markers.  I then took some Stephanie Fizer digital School Collection designer paper pack.

Now, for the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge part, I took some scrap Stampin Up! riding hood red and die cut one of MFT's small Dainty Doily Duo Die-namics before adding a layer of stamped Stampin Up! pacific point and riding hood red scrap card stocks.  For that layer I used Stephanie Fizer's I Heart Books to give the layer an embossed look before adding a Tim Holtz ruler ribbon strip and some primas.

Above The Fog - WSC20

I had these balloon images colored a couple of weeks ago and just had not assembled a card with them yet, so when this week's Wednesday Stamp Club sketch came out, I knew the time had come.  Pullin out some K&Company Brenda Walton designer paper to give the card a vintage look, I began assembling the images together.  Once I had my designer paper adhered to the card, I stippled some Stampin Up! creamy caramel ink around the edges and then did the same thing around the edges of the main image layer.  Oh why, oh why did Stampin Up! retire the caramel color??  It's my favorite to use for beach scenes, and making stuff vintage.  Argh!!

Once I had some scrap Stampin Up! sage shadow card stock die cut, using MFT's Jumbo Scallop Die-Namic, I also stippled caramel ink over those so the border would be aged a bit too.  Taking out some Tim Holtz antique linen, old paper, and tea stain distress inks, I began stippling the clouds to age them since I had die cut those on white card stock instead of vanilla.  Once the clouds were done, I stippled the same inks over the sun to age that before adding just a tad of distress inks to the popped up balloons.  For the final touch, I die cut a butterfly using MFT's Butterfly Die-Namic, stippled ink over that, and added some gem stickers to the body to make it stand out a bit.

I'm really happy with how this turned out since I put it together with a nasty migraine and meds.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Music Note Sketch - WSC 18

Hi all.  Two posts tonight after being nailed with a major, major migraine the last week.  In fact, the last couple of weeks have been horrible with my migraines.  I've been down more than up lately.

Here's my take on last week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club.  I'm a bit behind thanks to the migraine.  However, I finally inked up my Who's That Musical Girl set and combined it with some scrap Stephanie Fizer Easter Daisies Collection with some scrap Stampin Up! retired mauve mist and pale plum card stock. 

After coloring my image, and punching it out with a Marvy Mega Scallop Circle punch, I used my heart and musical note die-namics before sponging pale plum around the edges.  I then popped up the hearts and added some mauve colored prima flowers with bling centers to finish it off.

Butterfly Inspired Sketch Challenge

Hello again.  Second post for me today.  If you are looking for my Teapot Challenge card, please scroll down one post.

I finally got a chance to participate in a MFT sketch challenge again.  This week's sketch challenge was perfect for pulling out MFT's Inspired By Butterflies set.  After stamping my butterfly three times on MFT white Perfect Panels in memento tuxedo black ink, I pulled out my prismacolor markers to color my images using some Basic Gray Ambrosia designer paper as my color inspiration.  Once the images were colored, I cut two of them out for popping up later to add some extra dimension.

Once my first butterfly was layered, I then stippled Stampin Up! pumpkin pie dye ink around it, and then also around the card.  Before adding my main panel, I pulled out my Jumbo Scallop Die-Namic from MFT and cut two layers of scallops before adding my main image popped up on dimensionals. 

My second and third butterflies were then added with both of them being popped up on dimensionals and then the wings of the top one pinched up a bit.  I then pulled out my Butterfly Trio Die-Namic and cut the smallest butterfly out of pumpkin pie scrap cardstock.  I then stippled some pumpkin pie ink over it and stamped some dots using Stampin Up's retired Itty Bitty Backgrounds set.  The butterfly was then added next to the saying with it's wings pinched as well.

Time to.....Remember

This week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club challenge is a sketch.  In fact, all of the Wednesday Stamp Club's are going to be sketches from here on out.  This way, newcomers can participate using whatever stamps they have, and if you use MFT stamps/products you have the chance to win a $20 gift voucher to the store.  Otherwise, the weekly prize is a $15 gift voucher.  Hey, either way it's free spending money thanks to Kim!  :)

I found this wonderful vintage clock paper at Michael's about a month ago and just had to get it since I knew it would go perfect with MFT's A La Mode Take Time (which Kim appears to be out of at the moment).  I stamped my a la mode in memento tuxedo black onto white card stock then colored with prismacolor markers.  Since I was going for a vintage look, I stippled Stampin Up! creamy caramel dye ink around the image and the layers.  Once I had added my Jumbo Scallop Die-namic and Texture Board Die-Namic layers, I had to figure out what to do for the saying on the sketch.  I finally remembered I had bought this itty bitty spool of ribbon at Michael's a couple of years ago and never used it that had a vintage look to it.  The only problem was finding that itty bitty spool.  Once I finally found it, I cut off just the "remember" part and added it onto the textured layers with some vintage brads.

Once my a la mode was in place, I added one of those K & Company page pebbles (remember those?) over the clock face and then stippled some more creamy caramel ink around the card.  The front still looked like it needed something, so I found some Michael's Recollections paper flowers, stippled creamy caramel on it lightly and added it with a glue dot.  The center is another page pebble.

The inside of my card was kept simple.  I only added one layer of the Jumbo Scallop Die-Namic and then another Recollections paper flower with a page pebble center.  Here's what the inside looks like. 

Yes, my Christmas tree is still up.  Between my migraines, my husband's stroke, and returning back to work, I haven't had time to take it down yet.  It does make an interesting backdrop though.  Don't you agree?  Thanks for stopping by today.

Wednesday Stamp Club - Pure Innocence Christmas!

Hello.  Sorry about the space between posting, I've been dealing with those pesky migraines again. (rolling painful eyes)  They just keep coming back and the doctors don't know why yet and the medicines to stop them are not working very well.  It's been cloudy, foggy and raining the last couple of days, so why not stamp even while on migraine meds. 

This week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club is all about the Pure Innocence kids.  These little darlings are just too cute not to take out and enjoy, especially at Christmas.  So I pulled out a several sets, stamped them up and so far only have two colored and assembled.

My first card uses the Pure Innocence Wyatt Just Chillin set.  I stamped him several times, since I couldn't get a clean image for some strange reason.  Finally found out, with Kim's help, that my 3x5 acrylic block had bowed in the center.  Wonder why it's only my favorite block to stamp with.  Definitely will have to get a new one, but I digress.  After getting a couple of clean images, I colored Wyatt and his snowman to match some Basic Gray Figgy paper I still had.  Once colored, I cut out one of the images to pop up with dimensionals, stippled some bashful blue ink around the edges, and started layering. 

I decided I wanted a little something extra, I found some Making Memories snowflake charms in my stash (had forgotten about those) and added them to two corners, then some old MFT fun flock, and diamond ice stickles to the images before popping up the second colored image.  Here's a close up of the main image detail.

Since, I was on a roll, I decided to decorate the inside as well.  Using some scraps of the Basic Gray paper, I added a strip, the saying and then a prima with a small silver pearl center.

After I finished my Wyatt card, I realized he'd be great for the Splitcoast Fan Club December challenge.

My next card uses the Pure Innocence Making A List set.  This once I also stamped twice, however, on MFT White Perfect Panels and colored her matching some Debbie Mumm holiday paper.  After I realized the paper had more of a vintage look, and my PI was stamped on white, I took some Tim Holtz old paper distress ink and stippled the whole image panel with it until the white resembled a dirty vanilla color. 

I had some Martha Stewart die cut snowflake ribbon left over from last years clearance at Michael's, so I added that underneath two layers of die cut MFT Jumbo Scallop Die-namics.  After adding some Prima poinsettia flowers, I then added a leftover red rolled flower using MFT's Rolled Flower Die-namic.

The whole time I was making this card, I kept having that song "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" going through my head, so instead of using the sayings from the Pure Innocence set, I made my own using MS Word, the Wendy font, and printed it out on vanilla Stampin Up! card stock before stippling Tim Holtz old paper ink over it to match the front images.  I then a strip of the Debbie Mum designer paper, primas, and a gem sticker.  The "brads" next to the saying are punched tiny circles.

A Winter Wonderland Scene

I started stamping this card for the December 8th MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge - Creating A Winter Wonderland.   However, I never got it done in time thanks to another migraine.  Ugh!  Don't those things know they are interfering with work and stamp time?  Obviously not!

I started out by stamping my cabin twice on MFT white Perfect Panels in Memento Tuxedo black ink, then both colored with Prismacolor Markers.  I stamped the trees using Stampin Up! always artichoke and chocolate chip markers, then stippled Stampin Up! bashful blue ink around the images. 

Pulling out my Martha Stewart drip punch I found on clearance last year, I turned the Halloween drips into icicles and stippled brilliant blue ink over the strip before adding to the card.  Once that was done, I stippled Tim Holtz Walnut Stain ink around the edges to give a rustic feel before adding the main image layers.  After cutting out my second cabin, I used a Martha Stewart two way glue pen and some The Cat's Pajamas glitzy glitter to make the snow covered roof sparkle.  I also added some glitter to the tree branches to make them appear icy, and a couple of snow lines as well.  Here's a close up of the details. 

Finally, I tackled the inside and just decided to keep it simple by adding a sentiment from MFT's Inspired By Winter set and some punched snowflakes.

Raindrops On Roses - Wednesday Stamp Club

First, and foremost, I hope this post makes sense.  I'm typing this while on migraine meds for another with some "blown" blood vessels in my left eye.  I can see pretty good, however, the eye hurts like the dickens.

For this week's MFT's Wednesday Stamp Club challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com we were to take the Sound Of Music song My Favorite Things and make a project from it.  You know just go with what inspires you and then tell what part of the song lyrics were the basis of the inspiration.  I could have just started with the title of the song since my favorite stamps are from My Favorite Things. 

So I started with typing out the first two lines of the lyrics and then pulling out my Spellbinders dies and MFT Die-namic dies.  I used the flower & leaf trios, jumbo scallop, and rolled flower (which appears to be out of stock at this time) Die-namics.  Since I've never used the rolled flower Die-namic before, I followed the video tutorial to make mine.  After dry embossing my main card, it was time to assemble everything.  Since I wanted matching "brads" and didn't have any, I just made my own using a hand held small hole punch then glued them on with a Martha Stewart glue pen.

Wednesday Stamp Club

It's MFT's Wednesday Stamp Club time again and this week we were given a sketch to do.  I didn't get a chance to play until today thanks to more migraines and the MFT release.

I decided to ink up a set that hasn't even been used yet and pair it with some Die Cuts With a View glitter stack paper given to me by one of our traveling nuclear med techs at work.  Jennifer was a blast to work with.

I started out by stamping  the main image from Dance The Night Away in memento tuxedo black ink on MFT white Perfect Panels and then color her with Prismacolor pencils and a couple of markers.  Dusting off my coluzzel, I created the matted layers before adding some primas from my stash.


Since I wanted the saying to cover both the front and inside of the card, I cut it in half and stamped it separately before layering and popping up on the front.  Using MFT's Jumbo Scallop Die-namic, I decorated the inside with silver designer paper and some velvet and glitter primas.

I'm really pleased with the way the card turned out; especially since I was on double migraine meds. :(

Happy Days Are Here Again!!

Now what parent doesn't sing that tune when the start of school comes around each year?   I know I did until my daughter became a freshman in high school this year; then she really became expensive. 

I finally felt well enough to do a MFT challenge AND get it done on time. This week's challenge had to do with back to school, blue, and using a Jolinne stamp.  Easy peasy.  I pulled out My Heart Sings Jolinne and stamped her on perfect panels then colored with prismacolor markers.  I'm so happy I didn't mess up the coloring since I'm out of practice. 

After layering on some MFT digital music paper and DCWV linen background paper, I was ready for the final touches: primas, 3 types of $1 ribbon, and silver baby braddies.

Tweenie Teen Musical

This week's Wednesday Stamp Club challenge was to incorporate MFT's new Take Note digital papers or any other musical designer papers into our project.  Considering how I've been looking high and low for some sort of musical background paper, it didn't take me long to purchase and download the Take Note collection.  I love all of the choices in the Stephanie Fizer Take Note collection including the hand written and typed text as well.  It sure saves on those big background stamps.

I started out by stamping my Pure Innocence Tweeny Teen twice on MFT Perfect Paper Panel in memento tuxedo black in and colored with prismacolor markers highlighting as necessary.  After cutting out one of my Tweeny Teen images, I popped it up on dimensionals and the MP3 player on mico pop dots.

Taking a sponge, I sponged Stampin Up! lilac dye ink around the edges of the card before layering my Tweeny Teen image over the musical panel.  Once I added some ribbon, prima flowers, and some Stampendous class-a-peel stickers to the centers of the prima flowers, my card was done.

Watercolored MFT Jolinne

Happy Sunday everyone.  I hope you have been enjoying your weekend.  Sorry it's been so long since I've posted.  Once again, I've been dealing with some nasty migraines since Mother Nature has decided Central California needs another dose of winter-like weather and has been bouncing the barometer like a basketball.

This weeks MFT Wednesday Stamp Club challenge is water coloring.  Oh my word!  I haven't water colored since I bought my prismacolor markers from Lauren Meader (aka mytime) and I have lost my touch a bit since I reach for my markers for everything now it seems. 

However, I'm also not one to back down from a challenge either -- migraine or not.  So I stamped my image (twice for boo boos) on MFT Perfect Panels in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and dusted off my Twinkling H2O's and aqua painter.  After heat setting my image with my embossing gun, not to mention scaring the dog and cats, I got to work with my water coloring.  I truly forgot how much fun it is to watercolor and how relaxing it can be as well. 

Once everything was dry, I lightly stippled Stampin Up! bashful blue and celery inks around my Jolinne before layering and stamping my background using an old retired Stampin Up! set and sponging celery ink around the edges of the card. Using the scalloped die-namic and some scrap pale plum card stock, I made a sponged layer to place under the Jolinne as an added embellie and to match the final rolled flower I was adding from Joanne's SCS tutorial from the prior week.  If you haven't tried it here, you really should.  It's easier thank it looks.

Reading Rocks Vintage

Happy Saturday everyone! I actually accomplished two things with this blog post today. One, sent my oldest to his first prom (sniff) and two, completed my Wednesday Stamp Club card before Monday night.

I wanted to try my hand at this week's featured Splitcoast tutorial rolled flowers. However, since the designer paper I chose was a darker, almost vintage color, I decided I would make sure my project would show a little age with it.

I started out by pulling out some Stephanie Fizer digital paper I had already printed out, then pulled out the matching Stephanie Fizer I Heart Books stamp set and the Grow Love Plant A Tree set and stamping my images on MFT cream perfect panels in memento tuxedo black ink before coloring with prismacolor markers. Once I had everything colored, cut out and my card made, I took a small stipple brush and stippled Tim Holtz old paper ink over the entire card and along the edges of my designer papers to "age" them a bit before adding just a little bit of Tim Holtz walnut stain ink as well.

Taking my large scallop die-namic, I ran it through my big shot with two different colors of felt to make the "hilly" grass to complete my scene. Once my felt was cut down to size, I also stippled Tim Holtz old paper distress ink over the felt to "age" it as well so the overall look would match and the felt wouldn't too bright against the distressed background.


For the final touch, I added a ribbon I had tried die cutting with the scallop die-namic but didn't like how it turned out, so instead of throwing the ribbon away, I tied it into a knot and frayed the edges, then distressed the ribbon to match the card.

The inside of the card was distressed with Tim Holtz old paper ink as well before adding my Stephanie Fizer designer paper and matching images.

Following Joanne's tutorial on SCS, I made my rolled flower, added some glitter, then using some glue dots added it to the bottom left hand corner of the card.

Earth Day Trees

Welcome. I'm squeaking this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club challenge just under the wire thanks to a crazy work schedule, more headaches, and packing up the department I work in for the hospital to move this next weekend. Oh my aching head!

I stamped both trees in memento tuxedo black and then colored them in prismacolor markers before lightly stippling Stampin Up! green galore to fill in the apple tree. Once that was done, I stippled bashful blue for the sky and sponged brilliant blue and celery around the edges of the card.

April Showers Bring.......

.......May flowers. I so remember that saying from growing up and I try repeating it every time it has rained this month to remind myself of the beauty that is supposed to follow the headaches rain causes me.


This week's Wednesday Stamp Club challenge was to stamp something rainy, so I pulled out my Stephanie Fizer Rainy Day Friends set and got to work.


I started out by stamping my images in memento tuxedo black on MFT Perfect Panels twice and then colored with prismacolor markers, setting one set of images aside for cutting out later. While layering, I colored the edges of each layer with a Stampin Up! not quite navy marker to make sure the colors didn't blend in together too much and to match the punched border strip I found in my stash of punch scraps.

After adding some MFT baby braddies and dimensionals to the main panel over my punched strip, I got to work adding my cut out girl, frog, and umbrella using different sized dimensionals, pop dots and mini pop dots. Nursery rhyme and vintage colored prima flowers with MFT baby braddies in the center finish my card off.

Now doesn't she look cute?

Vintage Traveling Sketch

Hello again. Sorry it's taken so long to post, but I've been dealing with another migraine thanks to some wonderful over-powerful perfume someone had on Thursday. However, even though I was in a darkened room and hurting, I was able to put together my take on this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge. I did mess up some coloring by going outside the lines a bit, but took care of that little issue by layering and lots of it. ;) Gotta love those pop dots!

I've had this MFT Miss You Much Jolinne stamp for awhile and it's just been begging to see some ink, and with a migraine, well I figured going with vintage colors would definitely help my headache.

So I pulled out some vintage postcard designer paper from Gartner designs I've had in my stash and inked up the edges with PTI vintage touch (chamomile & chai) inks to age the paper a bit then stamped my image twice on MFT's cream perfect panels before punching one image out using Marvy's giga scalloped punch then coloring both sets of images with prismacolor markers.

Once the coloring was done, I stained the edges of the scalloped circles the same as the card before I began my layering. It was then I realized I had gone outside the lines coloring my Jolinne's hair and had the brown bled into her face, so I had to stamp one more image, color, cut and layer. The third layer actually added a bit more to the overall feel of the card, so it worked out nicely.

As the A-Team used to say "I love it when a plan comes together." LOL

Coffee My Way

Hi there. I thought I had uploaded these already, but I guess not. These mugs were stamped for a Christmas present for my brother and sister-in-law before they gave up caffeine, so my hubby and I get to keep them.

The mugs are from Starbucks and are altered using white cardstock stamped with MFT's Hot Stuff & Coffee? Tea? stamp sets in memento tuxedo black ink then colored using prismacolor markers. The tin from MFT holds chocolate peppermint coffee from Target's $1 spot.

Going Green With A Fairy Jolinne

This week's Wednesday Stamp Club challenge was to Go Green or basically recycle something.  Well I chose to recycle some ribbon from my mother-in-law's 80th birthday that I "borrowed" from the left over decorations.  I also used some leftover punched shapes that just didn't work out for other cards or projects. 

I started out by stamping MFT's Fairy Sweet Jolinne twice on MFT's perfect panels in memento tuxedo black in and colored with prismacolor markers leaving the wings blank.  The wings I colored with Twinkling H2O's before lightly stippling Stampin Up! soft sky around my fairy and then drawing in a small hill for her to sit on and adding a couple of punched flowers around her.  Once this was done, I added the second Jolinne image I had colored popping it up with dimensionals to give a little added dimension before popping the whole panel up over the ribbon.

Reusing and recycling is a great way to stamp!  You never know what you can find.

Apples and Little Girls - WSC Templates

Howdy all! Sorry it's been awhile since I've posted. This week's Wednesday Stamp Club challenge was to use one of MFT's templates available on the website. Since I used dog bone template for the blog hop while I was guest designer last month, I decided I would use the apple one this time especially since I love caramel apples. There's nothing like a caramel apple from the fair.

Once my template was downloaded, traced onto my cardstock and cut out, I stamped different backgrounds in corresponding inks then stippled around the edges to add some color.

I decided to use the Pure Innocence Apple For You stamp and stamped it twice in Memento Tuxedo Black on MFT Perfect Panels and colored with Prismacolor markers cutting one image out to pop up on pop up glue dots later. Once my image was colored, I lightly stippled Stampin Up! soft sky ink around it so fill in the white spots before layering.

Once I added a popsicle stick, some MFT polka dot ribbon, and a nekkid chocolate kiss button, I then added some glitter to the center of the button where the glue from the glue dot was showing through to cover that up.
