It's A Penguin Parade!!

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a couple of cards made using the retired Merry Penguin set from Impression Obsession.

Onefer

This card has a lot of dimension on it. With the exception of the card base, everything was made from scraps/snippets.  I started out by stamping the plaid penguin twice on to scrap white card stock before coloring using prismacolor markers before cutting them out using the matching dies (also retired) then setting them aside. For the card I folded a bliss blue card stock to make a slimline card, then cut down the matching layers.  Before adding another layer of bliss blue, I dry embossed it using a A2  Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder running it three times through my big shot.  Talk about having to be careful about lining the embossing folder just so on the card stock.  Whew!!  I then lightly sponged Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink over the embossed images before popping it up on the card using dimensionals.  Taking more scrap white card stock, I stamped and colored the accessories for my penguins before cutting them out also using the matching dies; then setting aide.  For the greeting on the front of the card, I stamped it in memento tuxedo black ink directly onto a bliss blue scrap, trimmed it down, then layered before running my fingernail along the sides before adhering it to the card also using dimensionals.  Now it was time to assemble my penguins.  The only other embellishment added was a gold enamel heart and diamond ice stickles dots over various places on the embossed snowflakes.

For the second card, I used the extra card stock, and the same stamp set, I had pulled out for the first one, so it's pretty much the same color scheme.  After folding my card base from ballet blue card stock, I trimmed down a bliss blue layer and again ran it through the big shot three times using the same A2 Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder before sponging tumbled glass distress ink over the embossed images.  This layer was also popped up using dimensionals.  I then took more scrap white card stock, stamped my images in memento tuxedo black, before coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once all the coloring was finished, I die cut the images out using the matching dies. This time I assembled the remaining card pieces using glue dots.  The only embellishment used this time was diamond ice stickles in the centers of some of the embossed snowflakes.

Fall Courage

Hello and welcome.  Today is another new release from Bugaboo Stamps and we have another really cute one for you and it's called Courage.  I decided to turn this little clown into a scarecrow.  When I saw him, I immediately thought of the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz.

After printing off my image onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using prismacolor markers before stippling several Tim Holtz distress inks around it then layering.  I then took some embossed Debbie Mumm Harvest and Holiday's designer paper I've had for years and added those to an artichoke card.  I then dry embossed a strip of pumpkin pie card stock using my big shot and a cuttlebug pumpkin harvest embossing folder before stippling pumpkin ink over the embossed images.  My layered image panel was then popped up over the embossed border using dimensionals.  My final embellishments were a green clip I've had for years, some prima flowers, and dew drops.

Beware Of The Cat!

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a card I made using Impression Obsession's image Trick or Treat Birdhouse (G1646-DG).  My card today features the digital version of the image.  For those who don't like using digital images, you can get the rubber one here and it's also on sale right now.

I started out by printing my image onto Neenah white card stock and coloring using Prismacolor and Lyra pencils before blending using a blending pencil.  I then stippled some Tim Holtz stormy sky, chipped sapphire and wild honey distress inks over and around it to give a "blustery autumn rain storm" feel before layering.  I then pulled out some maple leaf brads I've had for years and never used before dry embossing a chocolate border then adding a chocolate ribbon.  After that I lightly sanded the border to distress it a bit and then sponged Tim Holtz spiced marmalade around the edges of the card before stippling brushed corduroy over the Basic Grey Ambrosia designer paper to also distress that before adding my layered image.  Behind the image I dusted off some silk maple leaves I've also had in my stash for years and rarely used.  I'm really happy with how this turned out since I've been dealing with increased migraines and breathing issues from asthma/COPD due to all the smoke from the wildfires burning around me.

Taking Door #2

Hello and welcome.  Today is Freebie Friday over at Catch The Bug.  This week the freebie is Crabby Cathy - Door 2.  Now isn't this image just perfect for 2020?

After printing off my image onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass and broken china around it.  Once layered, I added some brushed silver brads, orchid silk flowers I've had for years.  For my card, I've stamped a Stampin Up sanded background stamp in orchid opulence before sponging the same ink around it and adding some silver cord ribbon.  My final embellishment is a punched file folder (I've had for years and also never used) stamped with the Itty Bitty Backgrounds in warm sunshine ink and then sponged the leftover orchid opulence on it then popped up using Recollections pop dots.

Sunflower Grace

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you an oldie but goodie from the Bugaboo store that I hadn't used yet, called Sunflower Stained Glass Block.

After printing the image onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before layering and adding brushed copper brads.  I then added it to a dry embossed card, with a dry embossed border, using Tim Holtz sun ray and cracked embossing folders I had dusted off.  I then sponged summer sun dye ink around the edges of the card, before lightly sponging the ink over the embossed image.  I did the same thing to the dry embossed border only using cocoa ink.  I then popped up the layered image over the border before stamping the saying, from a long retired Stampin Up set,  in memento black ink over the dry embossed card.  For embellishments, I added a satin cocoa ribbon, sunflower dew drops and a wooden bee I received as a RAK but also hadn't used yet.  As a final touch, I traced the stained glass image with Sakura 3D glaze pens to add to the dimension.
