No Reason's Needed

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a card I made using a Whimsy Stamps set I received from a friend, @mrsfoxdelights, last year and just hadn't ink'd up yet.  It's a Dustin Pike set called Dragon New Year.   Now I love Dustin Pike images and this set is just perfectly cute with just enough snark to make you laugh.

I started out by stamping the images in memento tuxedo black ink on to a ©Copic white panel before coloring using my Ohuhu markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I lightly stippled some Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink around it before layering and adhering it to my card base with scrap Conjurer of Dreams Dragon Scales background paper.  For embellishments, I added some green illusion bling before highlighting parts of the image using a 3D glaze pen.  A small green bow was the final touch.  I'm really happy with how this turned out.

Pucker Up

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a New Year's card made with one of Whimsy's stamp sets called What the?!   Now I love a good snarky card, and stamp set, and this one rocks!

I started out by stamping the image/sayings in memento tuxedo black ink before coloring using my Ohuhu markers.  Have I said how much I love these markers??  Well, I do.  Once all of the coloring was finished, I outlined the labels using a gold Copic marker before layering and adding some faux brads.  I then lightly stippled leftover Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink (leftover from another project) around the main image.  My background was created using the "Happy New Year" saying from the set in Stampin Up pacific pointe ink.  The final touches was adding a bit of gold bling to finish the card off.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  My husband loves it.  Moral of the card, don't drink too much this holiday season or drive under the influence.

Loon At The Lake

Hello and welcome.   Today I'd like to share a card made using an image I've had colored for some time, just hadn't finished it to a card.  The Loon Scene is from Whimsy Stamps and is just beautiful.  I see so many uses for this stamp.

The main image is stamped onto Neenah white card stock and colored using Castle Arts colored pencils and a blender pencil.  I then lightly stippled some tumbled glass distress ink before adding some silver photo corners I've had for years, and I mean years.  The card was made by stippling broken china distress ink over a slim line lily pad stencil from Picket Fence Studios.  Once I had the layered image added to my card, I added some bling, ribbon, diamond ice stickles and a small punched frog to place on one of the lily pads.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Dancing Penguins

Hello and welcome.  Second post today.  I'd like to share a card made using a digital image from Whimsy Stamps that I've had printed for some time, I just haven't used it before now.  The image is called Penguin Dance Line and was a freebie from Whimsy back in 2022.

After adding the saying using Photoshop©, I printed the image onto Neenah white card stock before coloring using Copic markers. Once my coloring was finished, I stenciled the cloud background using a slimline cloud stencil (now retired) from Picket Fence Studios before layering and adding some black brads.  Taking a Cuttlebug© snowflake embossing folder, and my Big Shot©, I dry embossed a black card before adding my layered image panel using glue dots.  I then added crystal stickles and some star dust stickles to the snowflake centers to finish my card off.  I'm really happy with how this turned out.

A Year In Review For 2022 Blog Hop

Hello and welcome.  I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and have enjoyed being with family and friends.  I have decided to co-host this year's Year In Review blog hop put on by Elliebelle's Corner.  I have several favorite projects but will only share my Top 10 for now.

1)  First up is a card made for the Cat Lovers Hop in OctoberSinging The Song Of Our Peoples using some old Rubbernecker stamps I've had for a decade or more and never used.

2)  Next up is another Cat Lovers Hop card from October using a digital from Impression Obsession - A Cat In The Hat Jack.

3) Next I have a card that was made for the 2022 Dare To Get Dirty Challenges in July over on Splitcoaststampers - Boho Bull.   Definitely a favorite since I learned a new technique that I really like.

4)  Next up is another card I made in July using a digital from Impression Obsession.  The coloring turned out better than I thought it would - Classic Truck

5) Next is another Impression Obsession digital image I made in July - Old Fishing Hole

6)  Next is a card I made back in August while dealing with some personal and health issues - Wildlife Babies.  I really love how it turned out especially with all of the "outside stuff" I was dealing with at the time.

 7.  Next is a card made in June using my retired clear stamps from The Cat's Pajamas - Oh What Fun

8.  Next up is a card I made in May using another Impression Obsession digital stamp as part of the #cardsforukraine card drive - Another Sunflower For Ukraine

9.  April brought out my lighthouse images and another Impression Obsession digital stamp is a favorite - Spring Lighthouse  I absolutely LOVE how this card turned out.  My mother and I both loved lighthouses.  She passed away in 1991 from breast cancer and I was thinking of her a lot while coloring it.

10.   Now I love a good snarky card, and when I saw this stamp set from Whimsy in April, I knew I just had to have it, AND the family member that would be receiving this card at Christmas .

11.  In March, I played along with the Virtual Stamp Night challenges over at Splitcoaststampers.com.  For one of the challenges, I used this image from Gracielle Design - I Am The Resurrection And The Life

12.  January saw me seriously try out stenciling to use on cards using some stencils from Picket Fence Studios, and found I really liked how they turned out - Rockin' Wishes

Hello and welcome.  I am retyping and redoing my day 6 post since it was deleted for some dumb reason.  It's frustrating, really frustrating...that's all I'm going to say.

Today's the seventh, and final, day of the most anticipated week of the year over at Splitcoaststampers.com.  Every year the design team hosts a week of challenges for the Fan Club as a way to say thank you for supporting the website.  This year, as we celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Fan Club, the challenges are open to everyone that wants to play along.  Come play along with us.  You can learn a new technique, find new ways to use your stash, chat with the design team and have a chance to win some fabulous prizes.  You'll find the challenges in the forum here.

Don't Mess With Santa!

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a snarky Christmas card made using the Loads of Cheer stamp (NBUS) set from Whimsy Stamps.  The inside is stamped "Wishing you loads of cheer!"  Now anyone that knows me, knows that I love a good snarky stamp and this one fits right in with me and my husband's family.  No family dinner gathering is complete until the bathroom humor kicks in.  In fact, this will be his cousin's Christmas card.

I started out by stamping the Santa image in memento tuxedo black ink onto scrap Hammermill card stock before coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers before stamping the saying in the top right corner.  I then stippled some Tim Holtz Chipped Sapphire distress ink around the image using my blending brushes from Picket Fence Studios, before layering and adding brads.  Once the colored image was layered, I added it to a shaded spruce card before adding a dark green/gold organdy ribbon and ice stickles to finish it off.  I'm really happy with it since I colored it while dealing with a migraine and residual COVID issues still.  This image is fortunately large enough for me to color without causing too much pain.

Reindeer Farting

Second post from me today.  If looking for my Wiseman card, please scroll down one.

Now with the way 2020 has gone so far, I wouldn't be surprised.  Hello again and welcome.  I'm still dealing with this blasted migraine, but meds are helping to take the edge off enough for me to type.  It took me two days to make this card and it's not that difficult.  I just love this little guy from the Dustin Pike collection at Whimsy Stamps and had to have him as soon as I saw him.  The image is called, appropriately, Reindeer Farts (digital stamp).  My dad would have loved receiving this card.  I miss him so much.  So this has been made in memory of him.

I started out by printing the, new to me, image onto Neenah white card stock and colored using Castle Art pencils with a blender pencil.  Once that was finished, I lightly stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass and broken china distress inks around the edges before layering and adding brads.  For the card, I adhered some Paper Pizazz snowflake designer paper I've had over a decade and never used, then added a dry embossed border using a cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder and my big shot.  After adding some glittered ribbon, I popped up the layered image after adding a snowflake charm.  After a few sequins and ice stickles, my card was finished.

Penguin Thank You

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a card I made for a friends sister in law who's a nurse working on the front lines treating patients with COVID-19.  I used a digital freebie from Whimsy Stamps called Penguin Medics and Sentiments.

After printing my nurse image onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the edges before layering.  My only embellishments used were brads, a black organdy ribbon, and some Sakura 3D glaze pens to highlight parts of the penguin, coat and clipboard.

Frosty....take me away!!!

Hello and welcome.  How'd you like the little "calgon moment"?  Right now that's how I feel, however, you're not here to listen to that.

I'm sharing with you today a card I made for a few challenges using Whimsy's July freebie Top Of The Morning Snowman.  After downloading him, I printed him off at 3.5 x 5 inches so I could color while still dealing with another migraine.  Once he was printed off, I pulled out both my prismacolor and copic markers and got to coloring before layering and adding snowflake brads I've had in my stash for years.  I also paired him with some PTI designer paper I received as a gift before our move.  I then decided to pull out some never before used(NBUS)  Martha Stewart Christmas washi tape before stippling Tim Holtz broken china distress ink around the edges of the card.  I adhered the image panel using some pop dots before adding ice stickles to add some sparkle.

Hola!!

Hello!!  TGIF!!  The weekend is almost here!!

Today, for the Stamp Something digital challenge, I'm sharing a card I made using Whimsy Stamps Chili Chihuahua and MFT's Who's That Fiesta Girl.  After downloading the chihuahua image and printing it out onto white card stock, I started coloring with prismacolor markers.  Once my coloring was finished, I layered the image onto Stampin Up! card stock and Basic Gray Luscious designer paper.

Taking my MFT Jumbo Scallop Die-Namic, I die cut four borders and then stamped a paisley background onto them in matching ink.  Once the borders were added over the designer paper, I adhered my main image and a prima flower using glue dots.  Then taking MFT's Who's That Fiesta Girl Hola saying, I stamped that on white card stock in memento tuxedo black ink before punching it out with a Stampin Up! small oval punch.  Then, stamping some chili's and a salsa bottle on white scraps, I colored those with some much neglected Stampin Up! markers, cut out, and adhered to the saying outside and inside.  Here's a close up of the inside of the card.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great weekend!!!
