A Cameo Appearance

Hi all.  I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  Today I am sharing a card I've made for a few challenges using a retired Fabulous Friday Freebie from Sassy Studio Designs.

After I printed the image out twice onto white card stock then colored with prismacolor markers, I cut one image out to pop up for added dimension before die cutting two layers of Spellbinders ovals.  I then layered those onto a dry embossed lavender layer using a Tim Holtz brick embossing folder before adding some ribbon, paper flowers, and pearl stickers for some classy bling.

Challenges entered:
Sassy Studio Designs Tic Tac Toe - Brick, Bling, Flowers
Sassy Studio Designs - DTBST #175 Use A Hat
Paper Playtime #9 - Emboss Dry or Wet

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Pink Ribbons For Mom

Hello and welcome.  This is a hard post to write.  Today I am sharing a card I made for my mom using Sassy Studio Designs Support A Cause digital image and Think Pink sentiments from last years October Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

After downloading and coloring my image, I layered the image and sentiments using pixie pink card stock before dry embossing a light pink panel then adding a scrap border left over from punching a couple of light mauve borders.  The only embellishments I added were some faux brads, a punched pink ribbon, and a pink marker spritzed over the main image.

Challenges entered:

Sassy Studio - DTBST #174
Link Up For Pink #9
PCP Cuttlebug Challenge #161
Love To Create Challenge #63 - Punches or Dies

Now the reason this post is hard to write, my mom lost her battle with breast cancer 19 years ago next month on May 19th.  She was only 41 - way to young to go.  So I have decided to make cards to help support and encourage others fighting cancer in memory of my mom.  Mom, I hope you like it.  I will be putting this one aside to mail off the MD Anderson Cancer Center during the yearly SCS card drive.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Hey Girlfriend!

Hello and welcome to Thursday.  The work week is almost over.  Today I am sharing a card I made for a couple of challenges pairing a Sassy Studio Design digital image with a Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company saying.

After printing out my digital image and coloring with prismacolor markers, I lightly spritzed a little Stampin Up! Handsome Hunter marker around the image to help highlight her a bit before layering.  My background is dry embossed using a textile cuttlebug embossing folder in my big shot, then popping it and my image/saying panels up on pop dots.

Challenges entered:

Love To Create Challenge #60 - White on White With Color Splash
Addicted to CAS #10 - Friend

50 Shades of Sassy Gray

Second post for me today.  If you're looking for my CHF challenge post, please scroll down one.

I decided to play along this week with the Sassy Studio Designs 50 Shades of Sassy challenge even though I've never read the 50 Shades of Gray book.  Seemed easy enough, create a card using the freebie image and gray, black or white colors.  Simple, right?

After downloading and coloring my image with prismacolor markers, I lightly stippled Stampin Up! going gray ink around the edges before layering and adding some gray pewter colored brads on top of a dry embossed Tim Holtz retro circles layer.  After adding some gray primas with black pearl sticker centers, my card was finished.  Simple!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

A Sassy Maleficent

Hello and welcome.  This week's 4Crafty Chicks Challenge is dry embossing.  Since I had a haunted house cuttlebug embossing folder from last year I still needed to try out, I paired it up with Sassy Studio Designs retired digital evil sorceress.  This image reminds me so much of Disney's Sleeping Beauty© movie, so I decided to color her like Maleficent.

After dry embossing some white card stock, I lightly stippled Stampin Up! basic grey ink over and around the image to "darken" it a bit and to give it an eerie feeling.  Then I printed out my digital image and colored with prismacolor markers, I also stippled basic grey ink around her before layering onto black and purple card stocks before adding baby brads and a moon Halloween charm left over from last year.

I'm fairly happy with it considering I made the card on no sleep from a migraine with the migraine meds not working.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Little Mermaid

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekend.  I recently came across the Link Up For Pink blog for Breast Cancer Awareness and decided to enter some of the challenges as well.  Knowing that sometimes kids have to unfortunately fight cancer, I made another card for one of the Splitcoast challenges with kids in mind using Sassy Studio Designs mermaid image.

After printing off my image onto white card stock and coloring with koh-i-noor pencils then blending with a prismacolor marker, I lightly stippled Tim Holtz broken china and then Stampin Up! blushing bride around the image before layering and adding some brads.  Then I layered my image onto some digital music designer paper before adding some silk flowers from Michael's I bought a couple of years back.  I'll be adding this card to the box I'm sending to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.
