C'Mon Inner Peace

 

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made for the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop using the Coffee Doodle-Doo set from Unity Stamps.  

After stamping the image, and saying, in Memento tuxedo black on to Copic X-Press It©, I colored it using Copic markers before layering and adding brads.  Taking a coffee bean stencil from Impression Obsession, I created the background for my card using espresso ink and a blending brush.  Taking my layered image panel, I adhered it using glue dots before adding a few dots in the upper right/lower left corners using a black Castle Arts gel pen.  Inside I stamped the "caffeinate and hope for the best" saying from the set. I'm pretty happy with how this card turned out.  Although, I'm starting to finally feel a little better from COVID, I still get short of breath/cough easily and a migraine.

Gingerbread Latte Anyone?

 

 

Hello and welcome.  I have another card to share for the Coffee Loving Card Makers 2023 Hop and using an image I colored recently but didn't get it on a card before now.  I just love this cute Gingerbread Latte Gnome digital stamp from The Cat's Pajamas since 1) I totally love gnomes and 2) I see many more opportunities to use it.  

Once my image, and saying, were printed on Neenah white card stock, I colored it using Castle Arts watercolor pencils before stippling Tim Holtz pine needles distress ink around the edges then layered and added brads.  For my card, I pulled out another The Cat's Pajamas clear Freshly Brewed Heaven (retired) stamp set and stamped the large coffee cup repeatedly also in pine needles distress ink.  I then took my Castle Arts gel pens and colored the tree lights and gingerbread cookie before adding punched holly leaves after I ran them through my dusty paper crimper with red liquid pearl "berries".  The final touch was some glittered dew drops from my stash.

Gnome Sweet Pumpkin Spice Latte

  

Hello and welcome.  Second post today.  I've had this image colored for several months now, just never got around to putting it on a card for some reason and dealing with a migraine proved to me why I have colored images just sitting around.  The image is from Gnome Sweet Gnome digital set from Angie Blom Designs.  It's colored using Castle Arts pencils with Tim Holtz stormy sky and mowed lawn distress ink blending around the colored image before layering and adding brads.  The card is stamped using a long retired Stampin Up Leaves Awash jumbo wheel in garden green ink.  I love how my coffee loving gnome turned out.  Now if I could find a magic wand that would get rid of migraines and have Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte's year round.

Hello and welcome.  I've got another quick and easy card for this year's Coffee Loving Cardmakers Fall/Winter 2023 Hop using this cute Newton's Mug stamp set from Newton's Nook.

I stamped it onto scrap Copic X-press white card stock before coloring using prismacolor and copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I stippled some Adirondack espresso and Tim Holtz spiced marmalade distress ink using my blending brushes before layering and adding brads.  I then went and distressed the edges before adhering the image panel to an espresso colored card.  After adding some coffee bean sequins, I pulled out three of the coffee beans and adhered them using glue dots.  I'm so glad this went together easily since, yes, the migraine is still there.  I'm seriously at the point of crying from it but that'll hurt more than trying to focus on something else.

The Most Important Meal Of The Day

 

 

Hello and welcome.  Today I have a card to share I made for the Coffee Loving Card Makers blog hop.  I'm a little late to the party thanks to another migraine (Mother Nature make up your mind what season we're in) and being just plain sick for the last couple weeks.  I decided to use some stamps I had received from a friend recently.

I started out by stamping my Cathy image, and saying (retired), from Art Impressions in memento tuxedo black ink on vanilla scrap card stock before coloring using Castle Arts watercolor pencils and a blending marker.  Once the coloring was finished, I layered it and added brads.  Setting my layered image aside, I took my Down To The Last Cup background from Picket Fence Studios and stamped it repeatedly in Adirondack espresso ink using a MISTI before stippling more espresso ink using my paper pouncers before adhering it to an espresso card base.  After adding my layered image, I pulled out my Sakura 3D glaze pens and highlighted parts of the image before adding coffee beans sequins.  I'm really happy with how it turned out since I made it while dealing with this migraine.  I needed to try focusing on something besides the pain and this card was fairly easy for me to make.

Woodblock Wednesday

 

 

 

Hello and welcome.  Today is another Woodblock Wednesday challenge.  I'm loving these fun monthly challenges because it's forcing me to pull out those wood stamps and actually use them instead of collecting them.  

I've had this Garfield© stamp for, what seems like, ages.  I found it at my local Michael's but the saying I found in an online store years ago. The card uses the coffee bean trio from a retired Stampin Up Espress Yourself set.

 

I started out by stamping Garfield, and the saying, in memento tuxedo black on some scrap white card stock before coloring using Castle Arts pencils.  Once my image panel was layered, I added some faux brads since I didn't have any matching ones so I just made my own.  My card is stamped in Tim Holtz broken china distress ink before stippling the edges in the same ink.  Once my card was finished, I added my layered image panel before adding some prima flowers with ice stickles centers and some blue fiber around the edge.  I'm happy with how this turned out considering I've been dealing with migraines and some health challenges lately.

Sending Warm Thoughts

 

Hello and welcome. I've been on a roll right now (still trying to focus on something other than my health and my husbands) so I have another card to share for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Fall/Winter Blog Hop.  Only this time, I decided to make my card completely from scrap card stock.

 

I started out by stamping my image from Stampin Up's Like It A Latte (retired) stamp set on scrap vanilla card stock in PTI dark chocolate ink before stamping the "steam" in Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink.  Once the image was layered onto more scrap card stock, I added some faux brads before stamping the coffee beans also in PTI dark chocolate ink onto a scrap espresso card.  The saying was then stamped in memento tuxedo black, layered, then added to the card.  Faux brads were then added to my layered saying before adding some dark chocolate to the sides of the card using a direct-to-paper technique.

The Early Bird

Hello and welcome. First, I'd like to apologize for not posting in a while.  I've been dealing with some health issues on top of my migraines. 

 

Today I'd like to share a card I made using an old Garfield stamp (Rubber Stampede) and this hilarious saying from Art Impressions and a long retired Stampin Up set Espress Yourself.

I started out by stamping Garfield and my saying onto some scrap white card stock in memento tuxedo black ink before coloring Castle Art pencils using the Art Nudge #4 to guide my color combo.  Once my coloring was finished, I lightly stippled some dusty durango ink around the image panel using my Picket Fence Studio Blending Brushes before layering and adding some brads.  I then took a black artist pen and added some faux sewing around the edges.  The card is stamped using the coffee cup border from Espress Yourself in dusty durango ink.  I then stamped the coffee beans also in dusty durango ink and layered onto a gray card stock scrap before adding my layered image panel popping it up using dimensionals.  I then finished the card off using some copper cord from my stash.
