You're Out Of This World!

Hello again.  Today I would like to share a card I made to send to a young man that's fighting a brain tumor using the Out Of This World stamp set from Lizzie Anne Designs (which is unfortunately no longer in business).  This is a really cute set for boys.

After stamping my images onto the main panel and coloring with prismacolor and copic markers, I also stamped the astronaut onto scrap white card stock before coloring and cutting out so I could pop up for dimension.  Just before layering, I stippled some Tim Holtz chipped sapphire ink and Stampin Up! basic grey dye ink to create the outer space feel.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Aloha!

Aloha! So what do it mean when we say that? By definition: aloha is a traditional greeting or farewell.

Here's another card I've had in the archives of the computer for quite a while and have just forgotten to post. It's from Lizzie Anne Designs, their Garden Isle set, and just goes to show the versatility of the set. I showed an earlier post using the little hula girl surfing, and now just with the flowers in the set.

For this card, I used some Die Cuts With A View pre-cut mat paper with Stampin Up regal rose, sponged around the edges of both before stamping to create my own "designer paper". After stamping, cutting, and adhering the main images, I stamped the saying in the bottom right corner. The card took a total of about 20min to make with most of the time being taken up with the cutting.

A very clean and simple card that can be made in a matter of minutes.

Little Surfer Girl

Little surfer little one,
Made my heart come all undone
Do you love me, do you surfer girl
Surfer girl my little surfer girl

I have watched you on the shore
Standing by the oceans roar
Do you love me do you surfer girl
Surfer girl surfer girl

Anyone remember that song by the Beach Boys? Although I didn't grow up during the Beach Boys era, my mom played their songs a lot during my teen years so, I heard them quit a bit later on. Now my own kids get a healthy dose from time to time.

That's what I remember whenever I use this set from Lizzie Anne Designs. The surf board and hula girl when combined just start that song going through my head. This set is more of a two-step stamping set than just coloring although it can be used both ways. I stamped the flowers PTI berry sorbet and spring moss before stamping the outlines in pallet noir black. The hula girl & surf board were stamped in memento black and then colored with Stampin Up markers. Stampin Up! regal rose is stamped in the background and sponged around the edges of the cardstock.

Overall a very simple design and card to make.

Do you love me do you surfer girl
