Today's Menu

Hello and welcome.  Today is the Anything But A Card post over at Bugaboo's blog Catch The Bug. Since Thanksgiving is coming this week here in the United States, I chose to make a framed wall hanging for the kitchen using the Frame It Stella Today's Menu image. It's new to me and is also this week's freebie over at Bugaboo. (edited to add note: Jodie is having some issues with the store site so it may not have updated to show the latest freebie) As a mom I know I said this a time or two to my kids while they were growing up.

After printing the image off onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before adding to a dollar store frame.  I then die cut some flowers from scrap black card stock before punching out some greenery using my Martha Stewart fern punch and some scrap green card stock then added some Stampendous bling stickers I've had for years.  With that, my frame was finished.  I'm really happy with how it turned out since I was dealing with another migraine.

Hitting The Escape Key

Hello and welcome. Today I'm guest designing for Bugaboo Digital Stamps over on their challenge blog Catch The Bug for the month of July.  My project today is a cute little framed piece I've wanted to do for some time, but haven't until now, using the Escape Key digital stamp.

I printed my image off slightly larger so it would fit into a 4x6 frame, giving me a 3.5x5 inch framed image.  Once that was done, I colored using both prismacolor and copic markers before adding the image to my frame.  I then added a K&Co Clearly Yours clear circle sticker over the clock and highlighted parts of my image using 3D glaze pens.  I then pulled out some white silk flowers I had forgotten about, adhered them to the frame using Ranger Glossy Accents, some punched forest green leaves and then some bling to finish it off.

I'd also like to enter this into the following challenges:

Splitcoaststampers USEIT2020 - Use Your Forgotten Stuff
Pammies Inky Pinkies #2027 - Anything Goes
Arty Divas #25 - Anything Goes
Never Before Used Schtuff (NBUS) - Use Your Unused Stuff

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and don't forget to stop by the rest of the design teams blogs and leave them some love.  Please stay safe out there.

A Healing Prayer And Garden Plus More Never Before Used Schtuff

Hello and welcome.  Hope your holding up well during quarantine.  I've been trying to color and make cards/stuff as my migraines allow, or not.  It seems the migraines have been active more lately between the weather changes and stress from COVID-19 so I've been having to create while hurting like crazy.

Today I'm sharing a framed home decor item I made using the Healing Prayer image from Aurora Wings.  After I downloaded the image and colored using prismacolor and lyra pencils, I trimmed it down, stippled some tumbled glass distress ink for the sky and then added to an acrylic desk frame I've had in my stash for years and haven't used yet (NBUS).  I then pulled out a Sizzix vine/leaf die, a bunch of Martha Stewart punches, a stack of scrap card stock and got to work to make my own garden.  After die cutting a few of the leaf vines, I added them to the frame using Ranger's glossy accents for the "glue".  I then punched out a bunch of smaller leaves, flowers and the larger butterflies using the Martha Stewart punches also adhering using the Ranger glossy accents.  I softened the punched pieces by using my Making Memories metal embosser (old school!).  My final embellishment was adding gold ice stickles to the butterfly's body and the flower centers.  I'm really happy with how this turned out.  Especially since it took over a week to make thanks to my migraines.
