A Couple Of Last Minute Projects

Hello and welcome.  Can you believe it's only a few more days until Christmas and the week after that is New Year's Day?  I will be glad to see 2024 go away.  It has not been a good year for me - health wise or personally.  However, I digress.  Today I'd like to share a couple of cards I've made over the last couple of weeks using Conjurer of Dreams images.

First up is a quick card made using an image from Stained Glass Gothic Christmas Windows (which was also the image for the last tag challenge in the Facebook group.  I just took the tag I had made and adhered it to a dry embossed card base.  After adding some more ribbon, and sequins, my card was finished.  It's not my best but I was dealing with a nasty migraine at the time.

My second card uses one of the images from the Victorian Ladies Greyscale Coloring Book.  I started by printing my chosen image at 3.5 x 5 to make it easier on my eyes while coloring.  Then, taking both Lyra Skintone and Castle Arts Harmonious colored pencils, I colored the image before using a blender pencil and eraser to soften some of the edges/highlights.  Once the coloring was finished, I layered her and added purple brads before adhering her to a dry embossed lavender card base.  The final touches, were adding some highlights using Castle Arts Gel Pens along with some purple/lavender bling.

Witch Wisdom October 2024 Challenge

Hello and welcome.  First, Happy World Card-making Day!!!!  Second, today is my day to share inspiration for the Conjurer of Dreams October challenge.  Speaking of which, the first Conjurer of Dreams challenge has begun here on the blog.  This month's challenge is an Anything Goes or all about witches - good, bad, ugly, etc.  You know the drill.  Now, I'm normally not a witch person but I did manage to come up with some not-so-spooky projects using witches. So without further ado, I present my inspiration projects and any challenges entered.

Run Up To Christmas 2023 Week 12

Hello and welcome to week 12 of the #runuptochristmashop2023.  This week's inspiration challenge is shaker cards.  Normally, shaker cards and I don't get along much, and I rarely make them, however I wanted to use this cute Bless Your Hearth digital stamp from The Cat's Pajamas I picked up on Black Friday along with some shaker garnish I received for free from Picket Fence Studios in my last order.

I started out by combining the saying and hearth image in a watermark program before printing it out on some Neenah white cardstock then colored using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I added a soft layer of tumbled glass distress ink using my paper pouncers before adding fired brick around the edges using my blending brushes.  After layering my colored image, I added it inside a clear glassine envelope I've had for years in my stash and haven't used them all yet.  Once I "wrapped" the envelope around my layered image, I added a bit of the shaker garnish before sealing it using some Scor-Tape.  It was then added to my card using pop up glue dots.  The final embellishments were some green organdy ribbon and dew drops along the bottom.

Believe In The Magic

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card using one of my all time favorite things - a SNOW GLOBE!!  I just love snow globes.  They offer glimpses into another world and are just calming I think.  My snowglobe today uses the Bunny Snowglobe digital stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas.

After combining the image, and saying, in a watermark program, I colored it using my Castle Arts watercolor pencils for blending later.  Once the coloring was finished, I stippled/pounced some Tim Holtz tumbled glass and mowed lawn distress inks around the colored image using my paper pouncers, and blending brushes, before layering and adding some silver brads.  Taking my card base, I dry embossed it using a Cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder I've had for years using my Big Shot.  I then stippled more mowed lawn distress ink over the embossed images and around the edges.  Once that was finished, I adhered my layered image panel using pop up glue dots before highlighting parts of the "falling snow" using a silver 3D glaze pen and then adding crystal ice stickles to highlight the rest of the "snow".  This card was fairly easy to do even with a migraine.

The Most Important Meal Of The Day

Hello and welcome.  Today I have a card to share I made for the Coffee Loving Card Makers blog hop.  I'm a little late to the party thanks to another migraine (Mother Nature make up your mind what season we're in) and being just plain sick for the last couple weeks.  I decided to use some stamps I had received from a friend recently.

I started out by stamping my Cathy image, and saying (retired), from Art Impressions in memento tuxedo black ink on vanilla scrap card stock before coloring using Castle Arts watercolor pencils and a blending marker.  Once the coloring was finished, I layered it and added brads.  Setting my layered image aside, I took my Down To The Last Cup background from Picket Fence Studios and stamped it repeatedly in Adirondack espresso ink using a MISTI before stippling more espresso ink using my paper pouncers before adhering it to an espresso card base.  After adding my layered image, I pulled out my Sakura 3D glaze pens and highlighted parts of the image before adding coffee beans sequins.  I'm really happy with how it turned out since I made it while dealing with this migraine.  I needed to try focusing on something besides the pain and this card was fairly easy for me to make.
