Congrats On Your New Home

Second post for me today.  If you're looking for my Less Is More and Anything Goes Challenge post, please scroll down one.

I had some extra time and decided to participate in a couple of challenges I haven't been able to recently.  Plus, it allowed me to stay off my broken foot a bit more.  So I pulled out a couple of sets by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company and got to work.

After stamping my main image twice from Tweet That in memento tuxedo black onto MFP white card stock then coloring with prismacolor markers, I cut one image out to pop up later.  Then I lightly stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink over and around the image before deciding to add the limbs of the bare tree of Tree Greetings stamped in Tim Holtz tea dye distress ink before doodling a frame around the main image and adding some faux brads.  Then I added the stamped and layered sentiment before adding the popped up birdhouse along with some ribbon.

Challenges entered:

Speedy Fox and Friends #144 - Doodle A Frame
FOSTV #57 - New Home

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Stamps: MFP Tweet That, Tree Greetings
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass, Tea Dye

Monochromatic Script

Hello and welcome to Tuesday.  Today I am sharing an early sneak peek of a new set being released by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company next month called Love Script.  This set is so easy to use as a background for another stamp set or even just by itself.  The script saying is beautiful.  Since I am entering this card in a couple of challenges, I decided to go with a monochromatic theme and showcase the script on it's own.

After stamping directly onto some Prima Blush designer paper using memento tuxedo black ink, I then cut down the designer paper to fit onto a square card before adding an olive ribbon across the lower portion of the card and tying it into a knot.  The only embellishments I went with were some large Prima daisies and a small light green pearl.

Challenges entered:

Less Is More - Week 104 Sketch #8
Anything Goes Challenge - Week 85 Monochrome

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Vintage Vino

Hello again.  Second post for me today.  If you're looking for my CCEE and Paper Playtime post, please scroll down one.  Thanks

Today I am sharing a card I made for the Paper Craft Planet cuttlebug #148 challenge.  Since I had wanted to have a vintage feel to the card, I pulled out some provo craft designer paper from my stash that's been around for 10 years or so and combined it with the cuttlebug traffic jam embossing folder for the background.

After stamping my image from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company No Sour Grapes in memento tuxedo black onto MFP corn husk card stock before coloring with prismacolor markers then layering with Stampin Up! card stock and popping up over the embossed background.  The only embellishments I added were primas, bling, brads and some ribbon from my $1 stash.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Take A Break - Calm Relax

Hello and welcome to Monday!  Today I am sharing a 3x3 card I made late last night for a couple of challenges using some Die Cuts With A View Timeless Collection paper.  It's been a very long time since I've made a 3x3 card and definitely out of my comfort zone.

I started out by stamping my images from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company's set called In My Den in memento tuxedo black ink onto corn husk card stock then coloring with koh-i-noor pencils and a blender marker.  Once all of my coloring was finished, I layered the main image onto some MFP mahogany card stock before adding some vintage brads and popping up over the DCWV designer paper.  The only other embellishment I added was some brown twine along the top.

Challenges submitted:

Who Needs Doe?

Second post for me today.  If you're looking for my Play Date Cafe post, please scroll down one.  Thanks.

I've so been wanting to ink up my Oh Deer mini stamp set by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company and finally got a chance to do so while feeling pretty lousy from this flu bug that's going around.  Although it took two days to finish it, I'm VERY happy with the finished product and will be entering it into a few blog challenges as well including the current For Your Inspiration challenge which have started back up for 2013.  Here's the inspiration photo I went by.

After stamping my main image from the Oh Deer mini and Scenic Selections in memento tuxedo black onto MFP white card stock, I pulled out my prismacolor markers and got to work coloring the images before stippling some Tim Holtz tumbled glass for the sky.  Then I stippled a combination of Stamping Up! garden green and Tim Holtz forest moss inks for the grass before stamping some grass from Scenic Selections in the same ink combinations to define the blades a bit more.  After printing off some My Time Made Easy Bold Boys designer paper and sponging rust ink around the card layer, I stamped a background scrap border using a deer image from Mountain Selections in not quite navy ink before popping up my layered main image over the stamped border.  The only embellishments I added were some vintage brads and buttons with thread tied through them.  The inside saying says "Happy Birthday Deer".

Challenges entered:

For Your Inspiration #38
4 Crafty Chicks - 4CCC #126 Buttons

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great weekend.

Stamps: MFP Scenic Selections, Oh Deer Mini, Mountain Selections
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass, Forest Moss, Stampin Up! Rust, Garden Green

Thinking of You Ivy

Hello and welcome.  I hope you are having a great weekend thus far.  Today I am sharing a card I made for this week's Play Date Cafe Color Splash challenge.  After seeing the colors, I knew immediately the set I wanted to use, so I pulled out my Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company set Ivy and Blossoms and got to work.

After stamping my main image in memento cottage ivy ink onto MFP white card stock then layering onto black linen card stock (my favorite BTW), I added my saying in memento black just below the ivy before adding the layered image to the card itself.  Since there was some additional white space, I also added a friendship saying from the same Ivy and Blossoms stamp set with no embellishments.  A nice clean and simple card that says a lot and took only 10 minutes to make.

When I first got my hands on today's featured set, I knew I had to create something vintage with it.  So I pulled out my K&Company Valentine 12x12 specialty designer paper and got to work.

I started out by stamping my roses from Love, Love, Love and the swan from Not So Ugly in memento tuxedo black ink onto MFP white card stock, colored with prismacolor markers and then cutting them out.  After matching my designer paper to the scarlet card stock, I punched out a matching tag from the K&Company paper then layered it before adhering the tag and my cut out pieces to the card.  The final touches were to add some red organdy ribbon from Michael's $1 bins and diamond ice stickles to highlight the tag and my stamped pieces.

My second project also features the same K&Company designer paper, along with a punched out tag, however with a softer look.  The sentiment is from Love, Love, Love and is stamped directly onto the punched out designer tag in memento black ink with Tim Holtz tattered rose distress ink stippled directly over it before adding some pink organdy ribbon from the Michael's $1 bins.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and don't forget to stop by the rest of the design team blogs to leave some love for a chance to win today's featured set.

Today's featured set is great for those masculine cards that as stampers we always seem to have trouble making from time to time.  I have a few projects to share today to showcase both masculine and feminine uses for this set; yet each with a delightfully vintage feel as well.

My first project uses some DCWV Timeless Treasure designer paper, vintage brads and chocolate ribbon paired with MFP whitemahogany and blue card stocks.  Once all of my images, and saying, were stamped in memento tuxedo black ink, I stippled Tim Holtz brushed corduroy distress ink to "age" the card stock before layering.

The second card uses some Costco designer paper I've had in my stash for a few years now along with MFP mahogany and chipboard card stocks along with some twine and vintage brads.  Once my images were stamped on MFP white card stock in memento black ink, I colored them with prismacolor markers before layering and stippling Tim Holtz brushed corduroy distress ink over and around the images.

My final project showcases a slightly feminine use of this set while still using the same card stocks I had sitting on my stamp desk along with some scrap Costco designer paper from my stash.  After stamping my images in memento black ink on corn husk card stock then coloring with prismacolor markers, I spritzed some chocolate marker over the image in order to distress it a bit more.  Then taking some vanilla prima flowers and cocoa ink, I stamped my own background onto the flowers before adding them to the card along with ribbon and a bling center.

I hope I've been able to help provide some inspiration for you today.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.  Don't forget to stop by the rest of the design team blogs to leave some love for a chance to win today's featured set.

Today's featured set has so many possibilities for it: get well, anniversary, birthday, celebrations of any kind, etc.  For my project I went with the get well theme.

I started out by stamping the chef image from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company's set called Celebrate Big before adding the wine bottle/glass image from No Sour Grapes onto the chef's tray as well as some scrap card stock in memento tuxedo black ink then coloring with prismacolor markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I cut out the additional wine bottle/glass image and adhered it over the first stamped image for a cleaner look.  I then lightly stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass and dusty concord distress inks over and around the image to soften the white spaces before layering.  The same was done around the sentiment too.  Everything was then layered over some Provo Craft designer paper I've had in my stash for 10 years or so before stippling the dusty concord ink around the edges and adding my image/sentiment panels.  The final touches is some eggplant ribbon along with a wine glass charm I found in the Michael's $1 spot several years ago and bought hoping I would use it someday.

Here's a close up of the embellished panels.  Just click on the photo to make it larger.

What would a blog hop be without me showcasing a set in a frame somehow? lol  Today's featured set Fantastic Dogs is just perfect to be framed and makes a great gift for anytime of the year.

After stamping my images in memento tuxedo black onto MFP white card stock and coloring with prismacolor markers, I pulled out another one of my dollar store frames and a mat from Michael's.  After centering the images inside the mat, I added the frames back and was done.  The entire project took only 15minutes.

My second project is perfect for cheering up someone and uses some DCWV Pet Shoppe designer paper along with some Recollections flowers, pearl stickers and black flourish sticker.  I am also entering this card into the Paper Playtime #1 Pet challenge.

Hello and welcome to Wednesday!  I've been trying to practice my clean and simple cards a bit more, so I'm going to share another one with you today using a stamp set I was gifted from Unity Stamps called Cheers!

After stamping my champagne glasses in memento black onto white card stock and coloring with a prismacolor marker, I layered onto some black card stock before adding Making Memories baby brads and lightly stippling Stampin Up! so saffron ink around the edges.  Then taking a cuttlebug dots and spots embossing folder, I ran it through my big shot before stippling so saffron lightly to highlight the embossing before adding my layered images, ribbon, and finally diamond ice stickles.

Red Poppy Thanks

Hello and welcome to another week.  Definitely not a happy Monday for me as I'm dealing with a nasty migraine again so it's a good thing I was able to come up with a clean and simple card during the few moments my head wasn't pounding for a couple of challenges.

With the holidays over, everyone needs a few thank you cards and this one is so easy to mass produce as well.  My image and saying are from Welcome Poppies by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company and is stamped onto MFP white then colored with prismacolor markers.  Once my coloring was finished, I layered the poppies onto MFP scarlet and black linen card stock along with some Making Memories black baby brads.

CAS-UAL FRIDAYS - CFC84 Thank You

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Live Like A Swan

Second post for me today.  If you're looking for my Paper Smooches Sparks challenge, please scroll down one posting.  Thanks.

I recently found a new challenge blog called Little Tangles and decided to give their Clean and Simple challenge a go.  So I pulled out a new set I had just received from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company called Not So Ugly for their January stamp release coming up and got to work.

After stamping the swan image twice onto MFP white card stock, I colored only the swans beak using a prismacolor marker.  Once my coloring was finished, I cut out the additional swan and popped it up on dimensionals in the center of a pre-cut window card before stamping my saying in the lower right hand corner.  My final touch was to stamp the swan in the lower left hand corner of the matching envelope.

Three Peas In The Pods

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekend.  It's been a while since I've participated in a Paper Smooches Sparks challenge.  Since one of my goals for 2013 is to try and participate in more challenges, as my migraines allow, I decided this week's Anything Goes theme would be a good place to start.

I pulled out one of my favorite PS stamp sets, Vegtastic, along with some Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety designer paper and got to work.  After stamping my images in memento tuxedo black ink onto white card stock and coloring with prismacolor markers, I stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass and tattered rose distress inks around the colored images to help soften the white spaces a bit.  Then after cutting out the additional heart and pea pod images I had stamped onto scrap paper, I popped those up on dimensionals and micro pop dots before adding the entire layered image over three scalloped borders.  Since I didn't have any brads matching my designer paper or card stock, I made my own by punching some small circles and adding them using a Martha Stewart 2-way glue pen.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great weekend.
