Celebrate

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a quick New Year's card I made using the Fantastic Fireworks digital set from Conjurer of Dreams.

I started by printing one of the images onto Neenah white card stock (4 times for 4 cards) before layering and adding some navy blue brads.  Once that was finished, I adhered the layered image to the card base using glue dots.  I then added a chipboard saying I found at Dollar Tree© using Ranger© glossy accents before adding some bling to the firework centers.  I'm really happy with how these turned out.

PIP Challenge 2424

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by Gerda Steiner Designs.  I would like to thank Gerda for her sponsorship.  My card is using the Happy 4th Mouse.

I started out by printing the image, minus saying, on Neenah white card stock before coloring using Castle Arts watercolor pencils and a blender pencil.  Once my coloring was finished, I lightly stippled Tim Holtz old paper, stormy sky and chipped sapphire distress inks using my blending brushes before layering and adding some star brads from my stash.  For my card base, I pulled out some riding hood red card stock then adhered a vintage flag panel, I forgot I had, on it before stippling old paper distress ink over it "age" a bit more.  I then adhered my layered image, added some faux sewing with a black gel pen, some blue fibers finish off the card - or so I thought.  As an afterthought, I then stippled Tim Holtz fired brick distress ink around the edges of the card.  I'm happy with how it turned out especially since I made it while dealing with migraines again.

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by Pattie's Creations.  I would like to thank them for their sponsorship and for providing images for the design team to use.  My card today is using the Party Gnomes digital stamp.

I started out by printing my image onto Neenah white card stock before coloring using Castle Arts pencils then layered, added brads then lightly stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass ink using a paper pouncer.  Setting the layered image aside, I stamped the "Birthday Wishes" sentiment from a long retired Stampin Up set then dry embossed it using my Cuttlebug© Happy Birthday embossing folder in my Big Shot©.  Taking a sanding block, I lightly sanded the raised images before adding my gnomes using glue dots.  That's it!! A quick and easy card for a birthday at any age or gender.

A Mourning Angel

Hello and welcome.  I needed to make a few sympathy cards so I pulled out the Stained Glass Beauty images I had printed off from Gecko Galz, trimmed off the angel and layered it on scrap black card stock before adding some black brads. I then dug out some True Faith© 12x12 designer paper I bought a LONG TIME ago and pulled out the golden cross background, trimmed down to size and adhered it to a black card.  I then took my memento tuxedo black "cat eye" ink pad and added some of the ink around the edges of the card so it bled over a bit.  Taking the layered angel image, I adhered it at an angle using glue dots before stamping the verse from Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted" in black ink on a white scrap of card stock.  After that was layered, and brads added, I adhered that also at an angle using glue dots.  The final touch was three small black flowers I punched from scrap card stock using my Martha Stewart hydrangea punch with some tiny black Crafty Meraki midnight bling added to the centers.  I'm really happy with how this turned out.

Irish Dancer

Hello and welcome.  I have another card to share using the Gecko Galz Blarny and It's Not Easy Being Green digital sets.  I'll sure be glad when this migraine and concussion symptoms go away.  Dealing with both is the pits!!

I started out by cutting down to size one of the remaining images on my Blarny collage sheet before layering and adding some green flower brads before setting aside.  For my card, I added a panel of It's Not Easy Being Green to a old olive card base before adding a strip of old olive scraps for a border.  I then added the Irish dancer panel using glue dots and added a light green Prima flower.  Taking my shamrock Martha Stewart punch, I punched a scrap of old olive to make my shamrock, before pouncing some old olive ink over the shamrock.  When it was coated to my liking, I adhered it using glue dots.  The final touch was adding green bling to the center of the flower and shamrock to finish it off.

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by Penguin Palace.  I would like to thank them for their sponsorship and for providing images for the design team to use.  My card today is using the Puddles of Fun digital stamp set.

I started out by combining the images I wanted to use then printing it out on Neenah white card stock before coloring using my Lyra and Castle Arts watercolor pencils.  Once the coloring was finished, I stippled some stormy sky and tumbled glass distress inks using my paper pouncers and mini applicators before layering and adding silver brads.  I then used a confetti stencil and stippled pink passion ink to make the background look like "raindrops".  Once my layered image was added, I adhered some glitter dew drops from my stash before adding waterfall ice stickles to highlight the rain and glossy accents to the puddles.

A Swirly Bon Appetit!

Hello and welcome.  I'd like to share another card made for Splitcoaststampers VSN challenges.  For this one, I decided to pull out one of my favorite Stampin Up sets Viola and Viola To Go.  Unfortunately, they're both retired.  I sold my set back in 2016 in a panic when we had to move and regretted that ever sense.  Finally found a replacement set on the secondary market that I didn't have to sign over my first born plus not have to pay a crazy amount.  I digress.

I started out by stamping my chef, spaghetti and saying in memento tuxedo black ink onto a scrap of white Hammermill card stock before coloring everything using both my prismacolor and copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I layered everything before adding brads and setting aside.  My card is dry embossed using a Sizzix swirl embossing folder and my big shot.  After the dry embossing was finished I adhered the layered image onto the card using glue dots.  Taking a black gel pen, I highlighted the "Bon Appetit", chef's mustache and neck scarf to help them stand out a bit more.  I'm really pleased with how this turned out.

We All Have Magic

Hello and welcome.  Second post for me today.  If you're looking for my Pammies Inky Pinkies challenge post, please scroll down one.

Today is Anything But A Card day over at Catch The Bug and I'd like to share with you a journal I made using the Harry Potter Collage I've wanted to use for some time, just never have gotten to it.  Whenever the back to school sales start, I always try to get a few of the composition notebooks to decorate and give as gifts - this one will be going to my daughter.

After printing my image off onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before cutting down and layering.  For the journal, I dusted off some designer paper I had bought at Costco years ago and have used only a couple of sheets out of.  Once the designer paper was glued to the notebook, I added my layered image before die cutting flowers using my big shot and a Sizzix die I received as a RAK from a friend.
