Summer Collaberation On The Beach

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a card I made for a summer themed collaboration
with a few stampers on Instagram, so I pulled out a stamp set/die combo I won a few months back from Picket Fence Studios. Since California has "finally" turned on the furnace and the weather is roasting everyone to be well done, I'm dreaming of the beach and cool ocean breezes.

I started out by die cutting the background beach, and water, using the Scene Building Seashore Cover Plate before coloring the die cut pieces using my blending brushes and Tim Holtz walnut stain, tumbled glass, chipped sapphire and tea dye distress inks.  Once my "coloring" for the sand/waves was finished, I stamped all the images/saying I wanted from the Summer Beach Friends Dear in memento tuxedo black ink onto scrap white card stock before coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers before die cutting.  After adding some pop dots to my die cut images, I arranged them on my card before finishing it off with some crystal ice stickles to the "water line" and a black 3D glaze pen to the crab eyes.  I'm really happy with how this turned out.

Enjoy The Little Things

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made a few weeks ago but haven't had the chance to photograph and upload thanks to my migraine.  The appointment I had yesterday with the new neurologist went really well and I've gotten some answers to several things and possibly a new course of treatment.  One thing I did learn is that my long haul COVID is definitely adding to my migraine issues, so if you have not gotten your COVID vaccination, please get it ASAP.  You don't want to end up with my health issues.

Ok, now back to my card.  I bought this stamp set from Colorado Craft Company, or 3C, during their end of year sale and still haven't used it yet (NBUS).  Unfortunately, it's retired now but is from the Lovely Legs collection called Enjoy Every Moment.  I was inspired by Splitcoaststampers March Virtual Stamp Nights MAR23VSND Seafood challenge.  I started out by stamping the image, and saying, in memento tuxedo black onto scrap Hammermill white card stock before cutting it down to adhere as a mini slimline card.  After coloring it using both my prismacolor and copic markers, using my Picket Fence Studios blending brushes, I stippled some Tim Holtz broken china distress ink and Adirondack caramel ink around the edges before layering and adding some white mini brads.  Once I was finished layering, I decided to add some of the left over broken china ink that was still on my brush to help color in the sky a bit more and give the appearance of clouds/fog.  The final touches were adding some waterfall ice stickles and Sparkle Midnight Shimmer bling from Crafty Meraki.  I really love that there's some tiny bling gems in the set.

Take Me To The Beach Please!

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a card I made using the Day At The Beach digital stamp from Impression Obsession.  Now if you're not a fan of digital stamps, they also have it as a rubber stamp here.  I had originally started it a week ago for the new Free For All challenge over at Splitcoaststampers, however, I was slowed down considerably by a migraine.  I still have it, but it's a tad more bearable now.

Once I had the image printed off onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using Castle Art pencils before stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress and Adirondack caramel inks around it then layered.  Since I didn't have brads that matched the card base, I made my own faux brads by punching some small circles then adhering them to the layered panel using a 2-way glue pen.  After adding the image panel to my card base, I pulled out some blue gross grain ribbon from my stash and added that.  The only other embellishments added were an old Paper Bliss tag with caramel ink stippled around it and waterfall ice stickles to highlight the ocean waves.

Life's A Beach; More NBUS

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made using the Sassy Gal Beach from Bugaboo Digital Stamps.  My image is colored using both prismacolor and copic markers with Tim Holtz broken china, marmalade and brushed corduroy distress inks stippled around it before layering and adding some brads.  The card is made using the Tim Holtz sunburst embossing folder with Stampin Up green galore ink sponged over and around it.  After adding some ribbon, I popped up the image panel using pop dots over the embossed card.  My final embellishments were adding some punched flowers, hand drawn seagulls and ice stickles.  I'm really happy with how this turned out especially since I've been dealing with some health issues besides my migraines. Also bonus "points" for using some never before used stuff (NBUS - ribbon, image)

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Catch The Bug - August Anything Goes
Outlawz Festive Fridays - Anything Goes
Outlawz Songs and Rhymes - Little Mermaid

A Friendly Light

Hello again!!  This week's Stamp Something challenge is to use beachy colors with summer right around the corner.  Of course, last weekend, we were getting snow again in the mountains an hour east of me.  What's up with that??  So even though I have a major migraine going on again, I just had to participate in the challenge.

I pulled out a Stamps Happen D. Morgan lighthouse stamp that had not seen ink for a while.  Once I had my image stamped on white card stock in memento tuxedo black ink, I pulled out my prismacolor markers to color with.  Since we were to use beachy colors, I layered the image onto different shades of Stampin Up! blue, banana, sage, and caramel card stocks before stippling caramel ink around the edges of the main image.

Taking the scraps of the card stocks used above, I pulled out my MFT Catch A Wave die-namics and die cut several waves to use as a border, then stippled caramel ink over those as well.

Once I had my main image popped up over the wave border, the final touch was to pull out some silk Michael's seashell bridal confetti and adhere those to the card using pop up glue dots.  The card actually came together really well considering my migraine and the meds I was on at the time I assembled the card.  Of course, it's an 1/8 inch crooked, but that seems to be the running joke around the house between my husband and I.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend.
