A Couple Of Clean And Simple Birthdays

Since getting COVID added wtih my chronic migraines, I have been feeling like garbage.  So, I decided to make a couple of clean and simple birthday cards using an old Inkadindadoo clear stamp set I've had for years and never used.  That way I could, at least, try focusing on something other than my health.

First card up is a one layer card.  I started out by stamping the lizard image/saying in memento tuxedo black ink onto a small scrap of white card stock before coloring with Castle Arts pencils.  I then stamped the inside saying after carefully cutting it in half so it would fit.  I then stamped the lizard again coloring with colored pencils.

My second card also uses scrap card stock with an Inkadinkadoo image stamped onto scrap white, colored using Castle Arts pencils as well.  After layering the stamped image onto a black scrap, I added brads as the only embellishment.

Frogs, Hugs and Christmas Cheer

Hello and welcome.  First, a quick update on me and my health.  I think the new antibiotic for COVID is finally starting to help a bit.  I'm, at least, not coughing as much anymore and have most of my smell/taste back.  Still short of breath and hurting a lot with the migraine.  I do have three different cards made I'd like to share with you.

First up is a sympathy card made using some stamps from Picket Fence Studios.  I went with brighter colors for the card since pink and bright green are the recipient's favorites.  I started out by stamping the flowers from Simply Wonderful (retired) in Stampin Up pixie pink and regal rose inks and the ferns in granny apple green.  Once all of my flowers were stamped, I added the Paper Hug saying in memento black which I bought sometime in the last couple years and never used (NBUS).  I then layered it and added brads before adhering the panel to my card.  The only embellishments were brads and crystal ice stickles highlighting the rose centers.

Second, I have a Christmas card using the Christmas Cheer digital stamp set from Gracielle Design.  After printing the image onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using Castle Art pencils before stippling Tim Holtz mowed lawn distress ink around the edges then layered and added brads.  I then pulled out some tiny wooden hearts I received as a RAK and added those using Ranger glossy accents.  As an afterthought I colored the hearts using a red colored pencil before highlighting the coffee using my glossy accents.

The last one to share is a fun card made using the My Pad digital image from Sheepski Designs.  After combining the image with a hand typed sentiment, I printed it onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using Koh-i-Noor pencils while my husband was watching the news.  Once the coloring was finished, I stippled Tim Holtz broken china, tumbled glass, and mowed lawn distress inks around it before layering and adding brads.  I then dry embossed the card using a retired Taylored Expressions braided embossing folder before stippling mowed lawn over the raised images.  After adding some copper cord, I added googlie eyes, sequins I didn't know I had, and ice stickles to finish it off.

Joy To The World

Hello and welcome.  I'm playing along with a few challenges this Christmas week, so I thought I would bust out a retired clear set I've never used (NBUS) from The Cat's Pajamas called Joy To The World.

For my first project, I stamped the singing penguins, and musical notes, in memento tuxedo black ink and then colored using prismacolor and copic markers before highlighting one of the hats with a white 3D glaze pen.  I then stamped the saying also in memento black before highlighting using glitter gel pens.  I then took a Picket Fence Studio Slimline Cloud Stencil and added the background clouds using Picket Fence Blending Brushes and Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink.  After layering, and adding brads, I added the panel to a card made pacific pointe card stock and scrap gingham designer paper.  I then took a black artist pen and added the faux sewing, snow using a white 3D glaze pen, and some Gin and Tonic sequins using Ranger Glossy Accents.  The final touches were waterfall ice stickles (for snow/ice) and white/silver ribbon.

Since I had the Joy set still sitting out on my desk, I decided to stamp the penguins, and musical notes, onto some scrap white Neenah card stock then colored using the same prismacolor/copic markers.  I then dusted off my snowflake corner punch and punched the top corners before creating my clouds background using the Picket Fence Slimline Cloud Stencil and blending brushes along with Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink to create my cloud background.  I then stippled broken china around the edges before layering then punching that with my Stampin Up scalloped tag punch.  After adding some "snowflakes" using a white 3D glaze pen, I added the punched snowflake bits (after stippling broken china on them) by adhering using Ranger glossy accents.  The final touches were waterfall ice stickles for the "ice" and ribbon to finish my tag off.

I'm please with how both of these turned out especially since I'm dealing with another migraine and it was either cry or try and focus on something else.  Also, my lung issues are flaring back up again I'm afraid.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a a great day and a safe Merry Christmas!

Flowers And Bears

Hello and welcome.  Second post from me today.  For my Pammies Inky Pinkies post, please scroll down one.  As I type, we are finally getting some rain and snow in the nearby mountains here in Central California.  Hopefully as the week goes one, the rain predictions will come true.  In the meantime, I'd like to share a couple of cards with you made with a stamp set from The Cats Pajamas I during their Black Friday sale called Nature's Hello..

I started out by stamping my images in memento black onto a Hammermill white scrap then colored it using prismacolor and copic markers before stippling tumbled glass and garden green ink around it.  Once that was done, I layered the main image then dusted off my Crop-A-Dial and some eyelets I received as a RAKAfter adding the eyelets, I stamped the main image for card background using spiced marmalade distress ink. The border was stamped in summer sun.  I then added the layered image before die cutting my sun out twice from scraps; once in summer sun and once in only orange.  After adding the die cut suns using dimensionals, I dusted off my clear epoxy circle stickers and added one to the suns center.  The final touch was crystal ice stickles to the flower centers.

My second card I chose to keep clean and simple (CAS).  Using the same stamp set, I stamped the main image repeatedly in a row in memento tuxedo black ink.  After coloring using prismacolor and copic markers, I layered it once onto a pacific pointe scrap, added the layered image to the card before stamping the saying also in memento black.  I received the saying as RAK and I'm not sure what Stampin Up set it came from.

Who Laid The Egg?

Hello and welcome.  With everything that's going on right now - the global pandemic, economic hardships, and the race riots here in the United States, I wanted to make a card that would make somebody smile.  Plus get me away from the constant news coverage my husband is watching.  So I printed off this image from Sherry West Art although this particular image was a freebie in her Facebook group.  The saying is from the Sayings Galore set from MFP Stamp Shop (now closed).

After printing off the image onto Neenah white card stock and coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers, I layered it before adding to a textured card.  My only embellishments is a yellow bow and a pair of googlie eyes.
