Woodblock Wednesday

Hello and welcome.  Today is another Woodblock Wednesday challenge.  I'm loving these fun monthly challenges because it's forcing me to pull out those wood stamps and actually use them instead of collecting them.
I've had this Garfield© stamp for, what seems like, ages.  I found it at my local Michael's but the saying I found in an online store years ago. The card uses the coffee bean trio from a retired Stampin Up Espress Yourself set.

I started out by stamping Garfield, and the saying, in memento tuxedo black on some scrap white card stock before coloring using Castle Arts pencils.  Once my image panel was layered, I added some faux brads since I didn't have any matching ones so I just made my own.  My card is stamped in Tim Holtz broken china distress ink before stippling the edges in the same ink.  Once my card was finished, I added my layered image panel before adding some prima flowers with ice stickles centers and some blue fiber around the edge.  I'm happy with how this turned out considering I've been dealing with migraines and some health challenges lately.

Hello and welcome.  I hope everyone in the United States had a fabulous Thanksgiving holiday.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week our prize is a $10 gift certificate to Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps.  Since my family likes to read I decided to make some bookmarks using two of Sweet N Sassy Stamps sets: Time Well Spent and Pawsome Pals.

I started out by stamping two bookmarks using Time Well Spent in PTI chocolate ink onto a pre-made bookmark from my stash before stippling Tim Holtz old paper and tea dye distress inks over/around them.  I then stamped two more bookmarks using the Pawsome Pals in memento tuxedo black ink before coloring using Lyra and Castle Arts pencils.  Once the coloring was finished, I stippled old paper and tea dye distress inks around those images.  After sliding them all into some protective plastic sleeves I've had for years, I added some vanilla tassles to finish them off.

Sending Warm Thoughts

Hello and welcome. I've been on a roll right now (still trying to focus on something other than my health and my husbands) so I have another card to share for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Fall/Winter Blog Hop.  Only this time, I decided to make my card completely from scrap card stock.

I started out by stamping my image from Stampin Up's Like It A Latte (retired) stamp set on scrap vanilla card stock in PTI dark chocolate ink before stamping the "steam" in Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink.  Once the image was layered onto more scrap card stock, I added some faux brads before stamping the coffee beans also in PTI dark chocolate ink onto a scrap espresso card.  The saying was then stamped in memento tuxedo black, layered, then added to the card.  Faux brads were then added to my layered saying before adding some dark chocolate to the sides of the card using a direct-to-paper technique.

Have A Furry Christmas

Hello and welcome.  Happy Caturday to you.  Well, I've had enough excitement to last a while already.  I had to call EMS out to help me get my husband out of diabetic shock.  Blood sugars were way too low.  It took a while, even with their help, to get his blood sugars up again.  My husband, of course, refused to go to theSo now, I'd like to share a quick, cute little card I made using scrap card stock and a couple of embellishments and this cute Furry Christmas set from Simon Says Stamp that I won.

I started out by stamping the dogs/cat in memento tuxedo black ink onto a Hammermill white scrap before coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers.  I then highlighted parts of the image using Castle Art glitter gel pens before layering and adding some faux brads before setting aside.  My card is made using a long red scrap from a previous project with a paw print background I made using a retired Stampin Up paw tracks wheel and Tim Holtz fired brick distress ink.  After I stippled the ink around the edges of the card, I added my image panel.  I then stamped the saying on another white scrap before going over the saying in a black gel pen then fussy cutting out before popping up using pop dots.  After adding a small silver bow, my card was finished.
