PIP Challenge 2624

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're sponsored by Gerda Steiner Designs.  I would like to thank Gerda for sponsoring this week's challenge.  My card this week uses Gerda's Pool Piggies stamps and matching dies.  Before I begin, how is it June already and triple digit heat?  I am not a fan of the heat and would like my money back please.

I started out by stamping all the images in memento tuxedo black ink before coloring them using my Ohuhu markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I die cut the images, and a sun, before adhering them to a card with water designer paper I've had for years and not used up.  I then stippled some Tim Holtz wild honey distress ink using a blender brush.  The final touches were sequins, highlighting the saying using a black 3D glaze pen and adding stickles to the designer paper for the "waves".  I'm really happy with how this turned out since I've been having a lot of health issues lately.

Catch A Wave

Hello and welcome.   Today I'd like to share a card I made using the Catch A Wave stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs paired with a digital background from Conjurer of Dreams.

I started out by stamping all of my images, and saying, in memento tuxedo black ink on to scrap white card stock before coloring using my Ohuhu markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I fussy cut my colored images out before adhering it to a card with an Island Hut background.  For the saying, I deliberately made sure to fussy cut it at an angle to look like a banner.  I then die cut the sun and seagulls from scrap card stock before stippling Tim Holtz wild honey distress ink over the sun.  Once my scene was assembled, I added a few sequins and stickles glitter glue before highlighting parts of the colored images using 3D glaze pens.

Gopher A Coffee?

Hello and welcome. I hope everyone had a great Christmas.  Today I'd like to share a quick card made using images from Gerda Steiner Designs.  Now, if you're a last minute shopper for Holiday's, Birthday's or even Just Because, today's card makes a perfect gift card holder that you can personalize for any occasion.

I started out by stamping images from Gerda's Gopher It! (sold out at the moment) and Little Things in memento tuxedo black ink onto Copic© white card stock before coloring using my Ohuhu markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I lightly stippled some stormy sky distress ink, left over on my blending brush from another project, around the images then layered and added faux brads.  I then adhered the image panel to a dry embossed card base using glue dots.  The final touches were, faux stitches, bling, stickles, punched butterfly and a small gingham bow.  I then stamped the inside pocket, layered, and added a gift card.  I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.

Dear Santa Kitty's

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a Christmas card I made for my 2026 stash using images from Gerda Steiner Designs.

I started out by stamping images from the Christmas Kitten stamp set onto Hammermill white card stock using memento tuxedo black ink before coloring using Ohuhu markers and a white chalk marker. Once the coloring was finished, I layered it and added some red brads before adhering it to a dry embossed card.  The final touches were some added bling, gold cord and using a clear 3D glaze pen to highlight parts of the images.  As an afterthought, I lightly stippled some tattered rose distress ink around the playful kittens.  I'm pretty happy with how this turned out especially since I've been battling the flu the last couple of weeks.

Someone Say Cake?

Hello and welcome.  I've not been around blogland much the last couple weeks.  Between my husbands, and mine, health issues, neither one of us has been having fun.  I finally got this card finished using one of the new release sets from Gerda Steiner Designs called Peeking Over Puppies.  These little guys are just adorable.  They're stamped in memento tuxedo black ink on Hammermill white card stock then colored using my new Ohuhu markers before fussy cutting out then setting aside.  I then created my background using a slimline cloud stencil and some stormy sky distress ink.  After layering, and adding some photo corners from my stash, I glue a few copper gems on to finish it off.

Halloween Spider Web

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a quick and easy Halloween card made using the Spiderweb digital stamp from Gerda Steiner Designs.  The image set comes with both a Halloween web AND a blank web so you can personalize the card - and it's a freebie!

After printing the image onto Neenah white card stock, I die cut a black spider using scraps and my Big Shot© before adhering it to a black card.  To finish it off, I added four black spider sequins instead of brads and a few black bling gems.  My card was finished in under 10 minutes so this is perfect for those mass produced Halloween cards.

Have Youself A Merry Little Reindeer

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share Christmas card I made using the  Little Reindeer clear set from Gerda Steiner Designs.  This is a second card I made as part of World Cardmaking Day this weekend.

I started out by stamping the reindeer, birds and saying in Memento tuxedo black ink using a MISTI before coloring everything using my Ohuhu markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I stippled some tumbled glass distress ink using a blending brush before adding some faux brads and adhering to a ballet blue card with scrap designer paper.  I then added some white/gold organdy ribbon, and gold bling, along with googlie eyes to the birds to finish it off.  Similar look to yesterday's card, yet different.

Merry Christmas Snowman

Hello and welcome.  Today is part of World Cardmaking Day which reminds us that the best gifts come from the heart, not your bank account, so try making a handmade card and give it to someone you care about.  For me, World Cardmaking Day is the kickoff for making my Thanksgiving, and sometimes, the Christmas cards I send out every year.  My card today features this cute Happy Snowman and his bluebird friend from Gerda Steiner Designs.

After stamping him in memento tuxedo black ink onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored him using my Ohuhu markers.  I then stamped the bird twice, colored and punched one out to pop up before stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink using a blending brush before layering.  I then added the layered panel to a ballet blue card with scrap designer paper that reminded me of snowflakes.  To my card, I added some holly bling stickers in the corners instead of brads.  I then added some more bling and a white/gold organdy ribbon along the side to finish it off.

Happy Anniversary Birds

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you an anniversary card I made using the Happy Birthday Birds digital greeting card from Gerda Steiner Designs.  These cute little birds come with the Happy Birthday To You greeting in the cards as well as a blank version to "make it your own".  I used the blank version and typed in my anniversary saying using Photoshop© before printing it out onto Hammermill white card stock.

Once I had the image printed, I colored it using my Ohuhu markers.  I then went and added the tree "canopy" above, using a long retired Stampin Up set, before lightly stippling tumbled glass distress ink for the sky and added brads.  The final touches were googlie eyes to one of the birds, prima flowers and some bling from my stash.  I'm happy with how this turned out and will probably give it to my husband for our anniversary in a couple months.

A Toast To Friends

Hello and welcome.  I'm thrilled to be guest designing for Gerda Steiner Designs again.  I love her stamp sets, and digital sets, and these pigeons are hilarious.

I've stamped a pigeon from both the A Toast To You mini and the Pigeons 4x6 stamp sets in memento black onto Hammermill white card stock before coloring them using Prismacolor and Copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I stamped the saying twice, once on a Hammermill scrap to pop up later. After adding some leftover tumbled glass distress ink that was on a blending brush, I layered the colored panel before adding some faux brads.  After adding my popped up saying, I dug out some grey velvet ribbon from my stash, added googlie eyes, and primas with bling centers to finish it off.

Enjoy The Summer

Hello and welcome.  I'm trusting everyone is trying to stay cool and safe during this nasty heat wave.  It's certainly not helping my migraines and breathing issues.  This last week has been rough with the weekend being down right unbearable at 114 and 113 degrees and it never really cooled off at night.  I was finally able to push myself to, somewhat, go through some boxes still unpacked from our move.  I do realize it's been several days since I posted last, my health just wouldn't let me.

I was digging through my stash of designer paper when I came across this blue, watercolor style paper and the first thing I thought of was swimming pool so I pulled out this Pool Piggies stamp set, with matching dies, from Gerda Steiner Designs I received as a RAK from a friend.  I started out by stamping all of my images using memento tuxedo black ink on neenah white scraps then colored using copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I die cut the images out using my Big Shot© before adhering them on my slimline card using glue dots.  I then added some blue/green fibers from my stash and adhered a few teal sequins from Picket Fence Studios.  Taking one of the sentiments from the set, I inked it in tuxedo black, stamped it directly on the card before going over it using a Sakura 3D glaze pen.  Taking a few more glaze pens, I highlight parts of the piggies, and added some polka dots to the yellow swimsuit) before declaring the card finished.

Sympathetic Floral Watering Can

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a sympathy card I made using a retired digital image from Gerda Steiner Designs.  I've had this image since 2019 but just haven't colored it until now since I needed a few more sympathy cards.

I started out by combining the image and my saying in a watermark program before printing several images on Neenah white card stock. I then colored them using both Prismacolor and Copic markers. Once my coloring was finished, I over-stamped a long retired Stampin Up sanded background using Tim Holtz old paper distress ink before running a Stampin Up night of navy marker along the image edge before layering.  Once I had added matching brads, I laid the layered image panel to the side.  My card base was made using a dusty Cuttlebug floral screen embossing folder and my Big Shot.  Once it was dry embossed, I sanded the edges using a sanding block.  After adding the image panel to the card using glue dots, I pulled out a wooden butterfly I found at Dollar Tree then using Ranger glossy accents to adhere it to my card.  The final touches were a scrap of navy grosgrain ribbon, bling to the butterfly's body before spritzing some navy marker over everything. As an after thought, I then went over parts of the image using black and white gel pens and added ice stickles to the flower centers.

Thinking Of You At Easter

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a trio of cards made to send out for Easter using the free Easter Bunnies digital stamp from Gerda Steiner Designs.  For some reason, it seems I'm never ready for sending Easter cards out.  This year is no different.  These three cards are at least a head start for me, especially since I've had this image for awhile and not used it yet.

I started out by combining the digital stamp and my own typed saying in a watermarking program, then printed them out onto Neenah white card stock.  I then pulled out my Prismacolor and Copic markers and colored the images before layering and adding brads.  For the card base, I pulled out a Cuttlebug dots/spots embossing folder and ran each card through my Big Shot© before lightly sanding the embossed images.  Before I added the layered images, I lightly stippled matching ink (eggplant envy, bliss blue, poppy red) over the embossed images and along the sides of the card.  Once done, I adhered the layered image panels using glue dots then pulled out a few premade bows and attached them to the cards using mini glue dots.  I'm pretty happy with how these turned out since I was once again crafting with a migraine.  It was either craft to get my mind off the migraine (sort of) or cry because nothing was helping again.  Close ups of each card are below:

I started off by printing the image onto Neenah white card stock then colored using both prismacolor and copic markers then layered and added brads.  For my card base, I pulled out a Recollections© All Seasons paper pad I've had in my stash for who knows how long.  After selecting my designer paper, I adhered it to a white card base before adding my layered image panel.  Digging through my stash of Prima© flowers, I dug out two polka dotted flowers, added them to the card using glue dots,  The final touches were some bling shamrocks I had forgotten about and some green/white bakers twine.

Celebrate 2024

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made using the free 2024 Penguin digital image from Gerda Steiner Designs.  I don't know about you, but it seems like the years are flying by.

I started by printing the image on Neenah white card stock before coloring it using Copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I lightly stippled some tumbled glass distress ink around the penguins before layering and adding some gold brads.  The card base has the "Celebrate" from Stampin Up's Wonderful Words (retired) set in spruce ink.  Once my background was finished, I added some gold cord and the layered image.  Then taking some crystal ice stickles, I "painted" the 2024 numbers using a Q-Tip before adding ice stickles to the Christmas lights.

Fa La La La La, Fa La Llama

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a cute one layer Christmas card I made using Gerda Steiner Designs digital Fa la la la Llamas.   I've had this digital set for some time and just never made anything yet with it.

I started out by combining the digital image and my hand typed Deck The Halls chorus (altered a tad) before printing the image out onto Neenah white card stock then coloring using Castle Arts watercolor pencils and a Copic alcohol blender marker.  Once my image was colored, I used my paper pouncer to apply a softer background of Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink.  The inside Merry Christmas saying is from Gerda's Happy Snowman clear stamp set I was gifted from a friend.  I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out especially since I'm still dealing with migraines and an infection that doesn't want to go away.

Are You Kidding Me?

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a birthday card I made using a stamp set I received as a RAK from a friend.  The set is a retired one called Moody Unicorns from Gerda Steiner Designs

I started out by stamping all of the images/saying in memento tuxedo black ink before coloring using Copic markers before stippling some stormy sky distress ink around the image then layering and adding brads.  I then adhered the layered panel to a dry embossed regal rose card with matching ink stippled over the raised images.  After adding some white organdy ribbon, midnight sparkle shimmer illusion bling and faux stitching around the edges, I decided to add some googlie eyes to the unicorn to finish it off.

PIP Challenge 2324

 Sponsored by Gerda Steiner Designs

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by  Gerda Steiner Designs.  I would like to thank them for their sponsorship and for providing images for the design team to use.

I started out by printing the Squirrel with Acorns digital stamp on Hammermill white card stock before coloring using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I stippled some walnut stain and mowed lawn distress ink using my brushes from Picket Fence Studios then layered.  My saying from the Cupcake Mice set released last month was then stamped in memento tuxedo black ink before punching and stippling more walnut stain distress ink around the edges.  Once I was finished with everything, I adhered the image/saying to a espresso card with an embossed tree stump panel with walnut stain stippled over the raised edges.  The final embellishments was some faux sewing around the squirrel and highlighting the saying using a black 3D glaze pen.
