PIP Challenge 2544

 Sponsored by

Blog

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by Varada Sharma.  I would like to thank Varada for her sponsorship of this week's challenge.  My card today is featuring Varada's Hot Air Balloons digital set.

After printing the image onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using Ohuhu markers before stippling some tumbled glass distress ink then layering and adding some faux brads.  Once I adhered the colored image panel to my card, I pulled out a long retired Stampin Up set called Warm Wishes and added the "celebrate" to the bottom of the card.  The only embellishments added were then some tiny bling gems to finish it off.  I'm really happy with how this turned out.

Autumn's Beauty

Hello and welcome.  Third post today, so I'd like to share with you a card made using images from Conjurer of Dreams.   All of the images were combined using Photoshop© so I could just print and add to an orange card.  With the way I've been hurting the last few days, the simpler is better right now.  I used the following COD sets:  Steampunk GnomeFall SilkWood Bark BackgroundPhoto CornersFall Gnomes (from a special set I won), Fall Background, and Creepy Scarecrow were freebies in the Conjurer of Dreams Inspiration Group.  I'm really happy with how this turned out.

PIP Challenge 2430

 Our Sponsor is

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by Patties Creations.
I would like to thank them for their sponsorship and for providing images for the design team to use.  Since this is the 5th Monday of the month, we are having a theme challenge and we're wanting to see
flowers.  For my design team card this week, I'm using Pattie's Dogwood Floral Moon image.

I started out by printing the image onto Neenah white card stock before pulling out my Castle Arts watercolor pencils to color the image.  Once my coloring was finished, I stamped the saying from a retired Close To My Heart set called Follow Your Dreams, before lightly blending Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink using my blending brushes before layering the image and adding some white brads.  My card base is dry embossed using a Cuttlebug© stylized flowers embossing folder and my Big Shot©.  A small pink bow and ice stickles finish it off.  I'm really happy with how this turned out.

Butterflies and a Stained Glass Desert

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a couple of cards I made this last week while dealing with my migraines again.  Let's just say I'm SO TIRED of having these constant migraines.

First up is a card made using the butterfly card toppers from Gecko Galz.  These pre-colored images are a life saver when you're eyes are not doing good because of migraines but are still trying to not focus on the pain.  Once I had the page printed off, I trimmed down the butterfly card front before layering and adding some small pink brads.  I then took a couple of primas I found in my stash and adhered those over where the saying used to be since I wanted to be able to use the card for any occasion.  Once those were added, I dug out some old, and I mean OLD, flat-backed white pearls from My Favorite Things and adhered those using my Bearly Art glue.

Next up is a card made using an OLD Rubbernecker (now Brass & Bliss) stained glass stamp that I bought in a grab bag at a stamp convention a good 15yrs, or so, ago.

It's stamped in memento tuxedo black ink before coloring it using Copic markers.  Once all of the coloring was done, I layered it making sure to distress the edges of each layer using my paper distresser before adding brads and adhering it to a red card using pop dots.  The only embellishment is yellow ice stickles to highlight the suns rays. I'll be sending this to a friend, as a pick me up, who moved from Arizona to North Carolina.

Bohemian ATC's

Hello and welcome.   Today I'd like to share with you some ATC's I made using the Boheimian Gypsy ATC collage sheet from Gecko Galz which is a freebie this month that you can download from their monthly ATC challenge blog.

I started out by cutting all of the collage elements out then matched backgrounds to scrap card stock.  Once I had all three layered plus "faux brads", I pulled out my MS punches and punched ferns/flowers before running the ferns through my paper crimper.  Once I had the "bedding" for my floral sprays created, I added the yellow/burgundy flowers before pulling out some red prima's that hadn't been opened yet.  Some red bling, gold/black ice stickles and my ATC's were finished.  To the yellow'd flower ATC, I also added some faux sewing before lightly stippling tumbled glass distress ink leftover from another project.  I'm really happy with how they turned out especially since I'm still trying to focus on something besides the migraine that's not going away.  Close up's and challenges entered below:

Courage

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made for a card drive for veterans a friend is doing.  It's take me quite a few days to photograph and upload thanks to the migraine I've been dealing with.  My part of California was in the 90's last week and now we're in the high 60's to low 70's.  Quite a difference in temperatures and a known migraine trigger for me, however, I'll deal with the migraine to avoid the heat any day.

My card uses an old, long retired Stampin Up set called Courage that I received as a RAK from a friend (NBUS) and is great for mass producing cards.  I started out by stamping the image, and saying, in memento tuxedo black ink before coloring using Castle Arts pencils and a Prismacolor blender pencil.  Once my coloring was finished, I stippled/blended Tim Holtz chipped sapphire, walnut stain, fired brick and old paper distress inks using my Picket Fence blending brushes to "age" the image a bit before layering and adding some red star brads from my stash.  I then distressed the edges using an old Stampin Up distressing tool before adding it to my card using pop up glue dots.  The final touch was adding the flag stars using a white gel pen.

Masculine Hop

Hello and welcome.  Second post from me today.  I am participating in an Instagram Masculine Hop hosted by @kellys.craft.  My card today is featuring a couple of long retired Stampin Up sets: the Old World Map Background and Ships Ahoy.

I started out by stamping the Old World Map background in chipped sapphire distress ink on white card stock before stippling old paper and walnut stain distress inks over my background using my blending brushes from Picket Fence Studios to "age" it a bit before adhering it to a navy card base.  I then took the tall ship image from Ships Ahoy also in chipped sapphire before stippling old paper and walnut stain over it as well before adhering that to a navy card stock scrap.  Since I didn't have matching brads, I made my own "faux brads" by using a small hand held punch before gluing them to the card.  For the inside of the card I used another retired Stampin Up set called Service and Sacrifice.  Here's what the inside looks like:

I'm really happy with how turned out since 1) I stamped it with another migraine and 2) I'm mass producing for a military card drive a friend is hosting.

Hello Ups!ide Down and More Never Before Used Stuff

Hi there.  Did I make you smile??  Who wouldn't want to smile after seeing this cute flamingo.  It's from Gerda Steiner Designs and is called Upside Down Flamingo and is perfect for any type of card. The saying is from Hedgehog With Sign set.  Both are sets I haven't used.

I stamped the flamingo in memento black ink onto white card stock then colored using copic markers before stamping the saying in the upper right corner.  For the sand, I repeatedly stamped the fern from Stampin Up's retired Watercolor Minis in various brown dye inks. After adding a panel of Colorbok Light Bright designer paper, I added an embossed border then sponged the card edges with pink passion dye ink.  I then highlighted parts of the flamingo using a black Sakura glaze pen.  The only embellishments added were bright pink brads and pink circle clips.
