Big Hugs - TE Sketch Challenge 147

Hello everybody and Happy Friday!!!  I am thrilled and honored to be one of the guest stampers for this week's Taylored Expressions sketch challenge.  I really like this sketch and I think I'm going to be using it often in the future.

For my card, I chose the KISS method - Keep It Simple Stamper especially since I'm still battling those blasted migraines.  I pulled out my favorite TE petite stamp set Wreath of Love and stamped it twice on white card stock in memento tuxedo black before coloring it with prismacolor markers.  Once those were colored, I made a last minute decision to add the birds nest, so I stamped that twice and colored it as well.  Once my coloring was done, I die cut both of the wreaths using TE's Seasonal Wreath Die so I could pop up one later.  Since I didn't have a background paper to match my images, I decided to make my own by stamping both the wreath and nest in turquoise and green inks before creating a strip alternating the saying with hearts.  For my final touch, I added some silk rosebuds from my stash I had forgotten about until Wednesday night.

The whole card came out a lot better than I thought it would since I was stamping, and assembling, at 2am because I couldn't sleep.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Make sure to stop by all of the TE Sketch Crew and leave them some love.

For details on how you can participate in this week's challenge and have a chance to win a TE gift certificate, hop on over to Taylor's blog to check out all of the details.  Also don't forget to upload your creation to Splitcoaststampers and then link it to the TE forum.

Have a great weekend and happy stamping!!

A Weekend Of Stamping - A Combination Of Challenges

Second post for me today.  If you're looking for my My Time Made Easy Pretty Pattern Sketch challenge, please scroll down one post.

I've been trying to  stamp whenever my migraines allow me lately and on Sunday afternoon and late Monday evening, I finally felt well enough to do some.  Fortunately, I had some pre-colored images just waiting to be made into cards I could use.

First up, is the Stamp Something monthly digital challenge.  I pulled out a digital image I had colored with prismacolor markers from Sassy Cheryl's.  Once I had finished stippling Stampin Up! bashful blue ink around the edges of the image, and layered everything, I added it to a pixie pink card rolled with Stampin Up's hot to dot wheel in pixie pink with some pink ribbon I had sitting on my stamp desk.  The whole card took about 15 minutes to assemble.  For the final touch, I added some ice stickles to highlight the water in the inflatable pool.

I also finally got a chance to ink up my Taylored Expressions Sew Happy set and do a TE sketch challenge for  the first time in a few weeks.  Since I was using a petite stamp set, I decided to use up some of my scraps and pulled out a long piece of black card stock for the base before layering on a stamped white, then pink, pieces of scrap card stock using Stampin Up's retired aida cloth background.  I stamped my TE images onto white card stock scraps using memento tuxedo black ink and then colored with prismacolor markers before popping up the entire main image panel over some recycled ribbon and then one of the dress forms.  After cutting out the spools of thread, I added those just before the ribbon knot, then the saying, and some metal dot stickers for the final touches.

My final card made, is for Mark's Finest Papers Speedy The Cat's Friends patriotic challenge.  I pulled out a couple of Rubber Monger backgrounds that haven't seen ink in a year and combined them with some Costco designer paper I've had in my stash for a while.  Once everything was layered, I lightly stippled Stampin Up! caramel ink over the card to age it a bit, added some ribbon, brads, and prima flowers to the bottom.

All of the cards made this weekend were easy ones due to my migraine, but relaxing and fun just the same.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Vintage Jars - TE Sketch Challenge 136

Hello again; the weekend is almost over.  Sigh!  Tomorrow it's back to work again.  Anyhoo, I made the most of a semi-migraine free day and stamped my take on this week's Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast.  I decided to use my new Taylored Expressions set Treasure LifeApothecary Shelf and the matching dies.

I started out by pulling out some October Afternoon Thrift Shop designer paper, and then matched my card stock & inks to it.  After stamping my apothecary jars in memento tuxedo black ink onto white paper and cutting out using the matching dies, I then pulled out my prismacolor markers and got to coloring.  I decided to make one of the bundles of "apples" into "peaches", and it turned out pretty good I think.  Once the coloring was done, I cut out the shelf, and put the jars to the side for popping some up later.

To make the background, I stamped the apothecary jar border into Paptertrey Ink ocean tides ink onto Stampin Up! baja breeze card stock.  Once that was layered, I pulled out some vintage brads and added some silk flowers from Joann's below the filled shelf.  Two of the apothecary jars are popped up on mini pop dots, with the one remaining jar layered on the inside with the saying.  Here's a close up of the center layer.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great evening.

Creativitea And A Sketch Challenge

Third post for today.  If you're looking for my Christmas Card Challenge or My Time Made Easy challenge, please scroll down.

I've finally gotten a chance to participate in the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge.  Since I had to stamp and assemble my card with a migraine, I chose soft colors to work with.  For the challenge, I pulled out my Creativitea stamp set, and then made myself a cup of tea to stamp with. I stamped the images in memento tuxedo black ink before coloring with prismacolor markers.  After coloring my images, I pulled out my Stampin Up! 1 1/4 circle punch, punched out the images, and then sponged regal rose ink around the edges.

Since the sketch has a bow in it, and I'm horrible at making bows, I stamped an extra flower image  and layered it over stamped regal rose card stock to replace the bow/ribbon in the sketch.  I then decided to pull out my Stampin Up! small flower trio punch to create some small flowers out of scrap Basic Grey Euphoria designer paper then adding some glitter stickers to the centers.  For the final touch, I added some gold ice stickles to the centers of my stamped flower & teacups.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day.
